The bar and the food
Food was very good
Stairway to bedrooms could do with a change of colour and freshen-up Train very noisey causing poor quality sleep
Food was ok
Train noise and bedroom below the bar!!!
Restaurant Cleanliness of room and bathroom
Being underneath the restaurant, I couldn't sleep until close.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful food was very tasty and reasonable hotel was warm and comfortable and set in nice surroundings
There was nothing I didn't like
The location is good
Smell of must. Dampness. Loud train noise. Rooms located under the bar, hardly good planning. Loud noise from pumps. Have to go into the bar to ask someone to come out to reception. It's like Faulty Towers - a joke of a hotel and people should be paid to stay there!
The first thing was the location, set by the side of a canal lock which contained a few residential boats of different varieties - Long, Dutch, House etc... surrounded by open parkland. After entering through a couple of designer doors, I was met by the friendly staff who promptly sorted the paperwork and directed me to the room. There was a bath and shower with instant piping hot water (unlike some hotels where the water takes ages to become even warm!) The room was neat, tidy, clean and pleasant. The place was quiet, bed comfortable and I slept very well that night. A casual morning with a 12noon check out and more encounters with friendly staff. I would highly recommend this charming hotel and shall definitely use it again when in Dublin!
we return to this hotel. It's friendly , good food , only 15minutes from the airport ,5 minutes walk to train into Dublin central.
Rooms under bar area can be noisy at the weekend.request a quiet room !
Has a small difficulty which the hotel very quickly dealt with to my satisfaction. Thanks,,,
I had to wait a few minutes when I arrived to get the barman to check me in. (I had to go to the bar twice to get someone)
nice quite and very friendly place
did not see much staff around. Is nice to be welcomed or have someone to ask if we are ok or if we need something.
Staff Food Cleanliness Location
Darkness - because of the location of the room it is dark, not a problem as such. However just a few extra lights - table lights etc etc would have made such a difference to the room
Room was located a few metres from train track. Everytime a train passed, room rattled and shook. Room far too warm, like a sauna. Lights blew in the room next morning. Ordered omelette for breakfast which went right through me. I would advise people to steer clear of this hotel at all costs.
The bar, restuarant and breakfast service was great as was the food too. Lovely location and even though there was a train going past regulary, we rarely heard it.
With the rooms being below the bar and restuarant we heard the occassional chair being moved on the wooden floor while trying to go to sleep but being travellers it didn't stop us from drifting off quickly.
room was clean, spacious. bar was nice
the room was noisy. there was some sort of generator noise droning all night
Proximity to castleknock train station and motorway.
Request a room on opposite side to train track..........noise ++++. You could literally touch the trains if you wanted to by putting your hand out the window!! Also very poor wifi in bedroom.
It was quite and scenery was good. The food was very good in the restaurant.
Provided with the disabled room, we were not disabled. Buses into Dublin City centre ran about every half hour. Nothing else around.
Good bar and restaurant Comfortable room and good facilities
I couldnt get out in the morning! Railway was a little loud
location ,value for money, good food, lively bar, dart nearby ,canal walks
some noise from dart, finding place it is in a cul de sac even asked locals and they had problem explaining where to go - simple signage at end of road would sort out so i cant understand why its not there because if u miss turn u are in one way system
The food was to die for....... The comfort of the bedrooms The tranquillity The bed extremely comfortable and had some of the best nights sleep in many a year The cleanliness of the room The staff couldn't do enough for you. Location of hotel in relationship to near by retail park, restaurants
The limited internet access from the bedrooms. The banging of the door late at night by the staff. The lack of desk space in the disabled room Small TV with limited channels
Peaceful location by the canal. Breakfast excellent and served by an extremely pleasant waitress.
Room was very dark as there was little natural daylight through the small window.
Right by the Castleknock train station, so getting into Dublin is cheap and easy.
Right by the Castleknock train station, so it's loud as hell in the early morning. I knew in advance, but if you didn't, you might be unhappy.
This is an unusual hotel , great position between a canal and a railway. Funny seeing thevtrains so close to the window. Enjoyed the noisy lively bar and a good meal. Breakfast was excellent. Liked this hotel a lot.
Comfortable room Good location
No breakfast. Train line outside
The smear of the stairs walking to your room is not encouraging!!
