Rooms were fairly small and cramped. Noise from other guests doors closing was very loud as was use of stairs etc. Bathroom towels never matched and were tatty at times. Our group were drinking Bud Ice but there were no ice cold glasses available, big disappointment. No residents bar either.

Good central location. 10 minutes walk to city centre and 10 minutes to Salthill prom. Friendly staff. Tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Excellent breakfast. I got room 11 and it smelled badly of cigarette smoke. There was also an ashtray available so clearly not the non-smoking room I had booked. The room had a rather gloomy atmosphere and could do with some fresh bright painting. Bathroom and shower cabin very cramped. Allthough the bathroom is the only part of the room which looks fairly new and modern with an electric shower.

The location was brilliant and the Ward's Bar very pleasant and cozy. The rooms should be more updated with furniture and heating in bathroom would be great! (We had room no. 18). Something about steep and narrow stairs should be done as well.

I lied the face that it was close to salthill where my daughter now attends college, and was close to the city of galway. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very enjoyable. The shower was also enjoyable. The room was far too small and pokey, even for one person, and there was a musty smell in the room, probably from the carpet and curtains as they were not up to modern standards. There was no internet access at all in my room and was informed that this was due to the fact that my room was on the top floor. If I was a big person, the bathroom would have been a huge problem as it was very very small. Was not worth the €50 I paid for it.

The Welcome I received upon check in. I loved the shower. Very obliging girl in the morning, who served my breakfast, and phoned a taxi for me. Room a wee bit on the small side. I had to use the wifi facilities for business purposes, but there were some problems with the wifi server. Difference between sign saying 'Bar food available' and the rude rebuffal by the barman when I asked him for bar food. He told me to go to the shop nearby. He even denied me food when I showed him the Guests handbook saying 'barfood available' Ignoring my note of complaint, waited three weeks for a reply to my note, but no reply. So in short: unreliable, erratic wifi service not good for business travellers. possible false advertising re. bar food not on. Despite the request put in the application form, my request was not met. casual approach to customer service by some staff members. (To be fair, at least two people were lovely, the man who checked me in, and the girl serving my breakfast.)

Breakfast was good. Noisey at night. Couldn't sleep. Shower wouldn't drain- nearly overflowed. Decor is very old fashioned.

Young lady behind bar counter was lovely, she made the place feel like a huge livingroom. It is also so close to the city that you could spend time in the city or in the hotel at regular intervals if needed. Breakfast was lovely except a little slow. Seems to have a really good regular clientele - always a good sign. They also gave out finger food during the match - well done you guys! O and the bed was sooooo comfy. The bathroom was freezing. With no ventilation. no, no, no. Just toooo cold. I would def stay again. Very good value. Very local to beach or city and also just your local pub. ( would really benefit from painting all upstairs dark wood - doors, frames, - with white paint - try it - it will make a huge difference)

Good location for walking access to both Galway and Salthill. Excellent breakfasts. Private off-road parking. Really hard for me to initially find...Google maps led me astray. Rooms a bit worn....but clean"
