Perfect location. Great breakfast. Reasonable price
Not a modern hotel or bedroom, but perfect if you're just sleeping there and nothing else
1. Bulb in bedroom above mirror not working-light poor in general. 2. Bedside lamp not plugge in - had to pull out bed and it was filthy behind with accumulation of empty crisp and food wrappers. 3. Toilet brush and toilet filthy. 4. Bath towel worn and covered in fake tan. 5. Kettle lead did not reach plug so had to put on floor behind the door. 6. Mugs and spoon were dirty. 7. Milk flowed on top of tea like layer of fat. 8. Room and shower water were cold. 9. Iron board must have been about 20 years old and completely worn with cover torn and stained.
Good location Value for money Nice Staff
Could find no fault with service, enjoyed my stay.
TV reception was not great
Very reasonable rate, great craic in bar, and good breakfast. The hotel is a bit old fashioned but offers far better value than nearby boutique hotels. Will definitely be staying there again.
The fact that the owner received my money on arrival but next morning on checking out the girl presented me with a bill. poor communication. The room was very small that we stayed in
the price is right and it's super convenient ... the staff is super friendly and efficient - you're not going to get snooty.. and you're not going to get posh, but you're getting a great deal for the money
excellent location. bedroom and ensuite were very clean. breakfast was freshly cooked and really tasty. staff were very pleasant.great value for money
bedroom was a bit dated and cramped
Although the room was small, it had all the amenities and the bed was really comfortable, giving a restful nights sleep.
I was uncertain about street parking - double yellows had been tarmacked over and I was concerned in case I got clamped this clode to the city.
The décor is dated
Water was cold on both mornings.
I have stayed at Wards a number of times over the years and have always been impressed with their great value for money. The staff are always helpful and professional and the rooms of good quality.
we liked the room, comfort of the bed. the privacy!
we weren't given any wifi if needed, bathroom was a bit rusty at parts,
Wards is a pleasant stroll from Galway City. No frills nice people , decor reminds me of holidays in Ireland 1970's. it has a bar that locals come into , nice experience of this hotel and good value. Will be back soon.
Rooms a little small but not a big problem
Location was great a 10 min walk to the docks and shops. Myself and my mam traveled to galway for my sisters graduation and wards was the perfect place for an overnight stay. Room we stayed in was very spacesious
The bathroom could do with a little updating and maybe a new shower but overall this was a minior thing.
Food was disgusting, had to give it back. Rooms are extremely basic. They would suffice if we were living in the 80s. The two irons that the hotel have were both leaking...
Food Facilities Room Having to keep pressing a bell at the reception desk
Very friendly staff Live Irish music many nights
Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great location.
Location fabulous, right in the middle of Salthill, hotel itself is a hotel with a bar, quaint hotel, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, great breakfast, cannot complain!
Very good breakfasts, close to Salthill beaches and on bus line
The hotel will only give you one key , like another we stayed at . If your partner is out late , he /she may get locked , as there is no one 'on watch' to let them in . There credit card machines do not work ?
The location is fantastic, 10 min walk to the city center in 1 direction and 10 min walk to Salthill in the other. Cheep for the location.
Walls are paper thin, do not expect to sleep if the person in the next room uses the toilet at night, has a shower or if they or anyone uses the corridor to return to their rooms at night. Although its advertised as having Wi-Fi in the rooms, I was unable to get a signal in my room, which the staff was unable to rectify.
Room, although small was spotlessly clean. Very cheap price and within walking distance of Eyre Square. All lights and shower were working fine (which is rarely the case with 2 star accommodation). Staff seemed sound enough.
Wi-fi only reached up to the first floor. If you happened to be staying on the 2nd floor (as I was), it did not reach. Had to leave taps on for an age before water became hot enough, and sink was very slow in draining water. A bit noisy at night, but that's a given if you're living over a pub.
