The staff were very accommodating. Loved the hotel
The efficiency of the staff, the big comfortable bed and the delicious breakfast. I'll be back! Thanks, Derek
Ambiance, room, comfortable, clean, brilliant view, right on the harbour, with views from every room. Staff are friendly, non intrusive yet eager to please. Food was exquisite
No separate bar to relax in after meal, but lobby very comfortable
Friendly pleasant staff, good facilities.
Was charged for room drinks which we did not have. Should have checked my bill before leaving but was distracted by friends.
Brilliant, quiet, intimate location, decent size room with superb view and everything we needed. Excellent food and service in small, bright, comfortable surroundings.
Bath towels too small.
Really quiet and relaxing room. Dining room very attractive, especially when sun shone at breakfast. Staff very friendly, food very good on first night.
Dingy lighting in bathroom, no bath robes, no mini bar or bottled water. Lighting was the most annoying thing, no bright light to do make up! Bathroom tiles smeary and floor needed a wash. Curtain in room 3 on 2 separate poles that didn't meet in middle, so light from boat outside window came into room all night. Cigarette butts left in ashtray on room balcony. Steak on 2nd night very average, salad tired looking.
Room, food, staff and location were excellent
The weather was foul for our one night stay but, we were able to scurry across the Rd to the Titanic Exhibition and enjoy a decent dinner in the restaurant. Our room was on the corner with a view out over the Harbour from both. My husband enjoyed watching the tugs and Ferries coming and going.
The view from our room was looking out at the sea.It was lovely to watch the boats going up and down.Staff were lovely and all served us with a smile.Breakfast was lovely too and plenty to eat .
The menu for dinner had not got great selection and was so expensive. So we went up town to eat.We had a 12 year old with us so not alot of choice for her on dinner menu.
the view from the room and the overall location.
The radiator in the bathroom was in the most silly location!!! rite beside the toilet!!! we got burned when we went to the toilet!! also at 6am we got awoken to the banging of the kitchen and also the setting up for breakfast and the food in the restaurant is very very expensive!!!!!
Location and ambience Friendliness of staff
We found the rooms had a lovely feel and the beds had lovely sheeting and wonderful mattress. The breakfast was great. We'll done. Thankyou
Staff, facilities and location. Underground parking.Good food
The location of the hotel is excellent. Nice big room.
Beds could be a bit more comfortable. Breakfast ok - orange juice, cereal etc. Cooked breakfast not the best - fried egg hard - seemed to have been cooked for ages, bacon too hard to eat - overcooked. We had a meal in the hotel the night before - I think the Chef has overuse of deep fat fried and microwave. We were a bit surprised about the quality of the food judging by all the reviews written about the hotel.
Our room was very nice and faced the harbor. It was also 100 feet from the gate my grandfather went through to immigrate to America in the early 1900s...lots of history here. Town is small, not many places to eat. This B&B serves food...not bad, not great, but convenient...Staff very nice
Food at hotel, everything else fine
Beautiful view from the room looking out over the sea
No buffet breakfast
Location. Food. Service all excellent.
Waters edge giving lots to watch with the movement of shipping in the harbour. Central location with choice of eateries close at hand. Staff most helpful and friendly.
Downside of a harbour overlooking bedroom window, was the floodlights from an anchored tug, illuminating the bedroom throughout the night. There's always a downside to the upside so it seems. Although I did get to sleep eventually.
The view the room
We're not very friendly had to ask for bowls at breakfast and cutely my uncle got his breakfast 10 mins after his wife we complain about the sausages we were told they were fresh they were not I no what bad good is 7 people said the same were they all man didn't know a fresh sausage were not stupid mad to feel stupid so much so when we went to check out we were asked if we paid and we did felt so little ask if u paid when we arrive we were ask for money up front we were at a family wedding had a great day the day before this really put the weekend down regards mrs sharon Tidd
What a beautfiful view from our window! Our adult children stayed in a suite that was outstanding. Food in the restaurant was wonderful. Great location.
Can't think of anything!
Balcony room 4.nice breakfast.overall valve for money.
Facility was conveniently located & not too hard to find. The car park was handy and manageable. Our room was clean, bright, contemporary with all the amenities. Breakfast was ok. The dining room staff were friendly and professional.
There was a large boat docked outside our room with engines running and a spot light shining all night. The room was too hot to close the window. Reception was akward, having to sit at a desk in the lobby. The receptionist was reserved & didn't offer information but was more than willing to assist if asked - you just needed to ask the right questions.
Position, bathroom, breakfast served by a lovely girl,
We asked for a water view but didn't get one. Room 14 faces a rock wall with roads at two levels. After carrying bags up stairs (no lift and no offer of assistance from staff), I sat down on armchair and arm fell off. There were no drawers for clothing, and the room was far too warm. As there was no A/C, the small window was left open allowing in lots of traffic noise. As well, a very loud exhaust fan from the kitchen was positioned under our window, which turned on regularly all night. No sleep for this weary traveller. To be fair, people facing the water seem to be happy, so ask for a water view room. If not available, go somewhere else. To the management, if you are going to give people such sub-standard rooms at the same price, how about forking out for some A/C and new furniture for the poor relations in Room 14.
Would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent staff greeting you on arrival. We had a relaxing stay and got a harbour view room. Carpark is underground. We dined at hotel restraunt three course meal is good value and taste delicious esp. The fish chef deserves recognition.
