Love the staff, the rooms were great they were extremelly good value for money, we only paid 230 euros for 2 people for 4 night in an wonderful location! Staff were very attentive and the craic in the bar is just superb! The only little thing was that maybe one time I felt a little cold, but that was it :)!!! Nothing really worth mentioning!

The minute I entered the underground car park a member of staff helped me park as he was working in the car park at the time. So 1. that was my 1st welcome & showed appreciation towards me 2. Checking in was a dream, hassle free, welcome & a lovely smile. 3. Room location in quiet area as I requested. 4. Breakfast served fast efficiently with a smile from all staff. 5.Their nice manner & efficiency encouraged me to have a further meeting there over lunch. 6,will be using it again. All of the above and the experience staying there get 110% from me.

Private parking, the Receptionist, the very spacious, warm, comfortable bedroom, the scrumptous dinner later on, the wonderful night's sleep, the plentiful, imaginative, tasty breakfast the following morning with it's varied menu (the rasher & sausage toasted sandwich was memorable), the cleanliness, the most friendly & helpful, courteous staff. We will definitely be back, regularly.

Staff were friendly. Location is great. Hotel advertises free parking but neglects to mention that the carpark is tiny and you have to leave your keys at reception so staff can move your car. The rooms are quite noisy. We could hear the full conversation of a couple above or below us - it seemed to be coming in through an air vent or drain in the bathroom. We could also hear the tv in the room next to us.

I needed a clean, comfortable, close to the city, hotel where I could also park my car safely. The Western ticked all of these boxes. I was out most of the evening so didn't use the restaurant but the cooked breakfast was very good, efficiently served and a good variety of other options. The staff were always friendly and helpful. If you stay on a Thursday night (at present) you can enjoy the traditional music session which I did.....it really gives you a glimpse of Ireland on your doorstep especially if you are new to it all. Galway is my favourite "city", it has the feel of a cosy town, much preferable to Dublin if you want to feel a true Irish atmosphere. The multitude of different visiting nationalities doesn't seem to lessen the experience but of course these are my opinions based on what I like. I liked it all . No complaints anyway . It's in the city so don't be expecting beautiful views, it also has street frontage so be prepared for that but its normal if you want a central location.

Its location, it was very central. Apart from the restaurant manager the staff were very helpful and very friendly. The bar was great and the atmosphere did not feel like a 'cold' hotel bar. The rooms were very comfortable. The dinner we had in the hotel restaurant was the worst food we had ever eaten and we dine out regularly. The 'chips' tasted of potatoes that had been boiled and left for hours (or even days) and then dipped in oil (?) and reheated. The batter on the fish did not taste of any type of batter we had ever encountered, it was soft, chewey and more like a yorkshire pudding. The desserts were tasteless. Furthermore the menu in the restaurant is the same as the bar! When this was brought to the restaurant manager's attention he did not even approach the table and sent a waitress to offer €3 each off the bill. When I discussed it with him the next day he seemed amused that we would complain and said others had eaten the food without complaint. During our three day stay the breakfasts on the first two days were inedible and were re-heated so badly that the pudding was hard. The only toiletries in the bathroom were 2 bottles of shampoo, no tissues, shower gel etc..

My girlfriend and I stayed here for new years eve and surrounding days. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful especially the cleaners, they were very accomodating with cleaning the room later because we were hungover and slept in everyday until the 2 or 3. The hotel doesnt do room service which would have been very welcome considering we were in too much of a mess to bother getting up for the included breakfast, however the reception was always helpful with other miscellaneous requests Very oldschool type of place which i guess some people will go for, but we found it to be a bit dingy with the wonky steps on the stairs and the noisy doors and hallways.

The western hotel was good to stay at for a couple of reasons. What we found great was the location and the free parking. We were within walking distance of pubs and shops but yet not in the centre so noise from streets wasn't an issue. We also thought the food provided was great especially the value we got for the dinner and the free bottle of wine was a lovely thought. We'd definitely stay again and would reccommend it to our friends. The bathroom in our room was cold.
