The staff were friendly and the food was good. The bedrooms were very dated and the beds small doubles, kettle had been removed from room and had to ask for more pillows. The bathrooms were clean but badly finished.

We went down for a family trip away and I have to say that the staff were absolutely brillant. One nicer than the next. Due to circumstances outside our control, we were late getting down but nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are a bit dated but everything else in the hotel was great so you would get over this!

Calling to the room asking if cleaning is wanted when "Do not disturb" note on the door. You could hear everything that was going on in the room next door.

The location was fine. My room was very poor.Looked really worn and dirty. I was beside 3 lads and there was an adjoining door to the rooms. They may as well have been in the same room as me as the door was like paper. Got about 3 hours sleep. Got breakfast in room again was very poor. I never complain about these things as I just get on with it. However its ironic you emailed me to ask. As it stands I would not use the hotel for business trips in future.

The staff at the Westlodge were very helpful: checkin and checkout were easy and pleasant. The hotel is well placed for those wanting to tour the Bantry area. They were prepared to put in an extra bed to make a family room for 4, which was ideal for us (and finding a room for 4 is not always easy). The hotel feels very tired, as if it has not been redecorated for many years. The insulation between our room and the next was thin, meaning we could hear late night banging of drawers, and I'm sure they heard us get up for our early-ish departure!

I found the staff very helpful, and the facilities very clean and pleasant, The entertainment at night was quite good, and I liked the location of the hotel... Just one thing I was disapointed that the leisure centre closed at 7Pm each night at the weekend. As my local dosent close until 10pm,

The staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely interested in the guests. It is a good location. Our room (no. 301) was a huge disappointment and this required us to leave early each day and return late each evening despite the weather. The room was small with only one small window. On overcast days (which we had three) the electric light was still poor.My wife was also nervous that we had an external door leading down a stairs to an exit. This door was secured by a security chain only !!! I can honestly say it was the worst hotel room I've been in and I would think it will affect future business for you unless you do something about it. The next question below is answered as a result of this comment.

Found the staff very helpful and accommodating. The dining room was excellent with wonderful views. While the bedrooms were clean and comfortable I feel that they need revamped but it would appear that the hotel is undergoing some modernisation so perhaps that will come in time. It is however a well situated hotel within walking distance of the town of bantry and suited our purpose very well as we were attending the chamber music festival. Would welcome a revamp of the bedrooms

The best thing about this hotel is the leisure center where you can swim a bit or relax in a jacuzzi after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel is located in a very nice green spot by the Bantry pier and Bantry House and Gardens. If you travel on foot, this hotel is not the best pick. It's about 2 miles from the city centre. The rooms are a bit tacky too, a bit unkempt (don't even check the plumbing in the bathroom). No functional soap disposal in the bathroom (broken pump), the bathroom was a bit worn out overall. The personel of the restaurant was great but the same couldn't be said about the receptionists who were a bit aloof.

swimming pool as my son age 7 enjoyed it, the games room was a joke he ran out of it... well the rooms were clean but very basic my wife found the bed very uncomfortable she had a sore back for 2days after it..also i found as i'm a chef only ok..To be honest we wouldn't stay at this hotel again for what we were charged for a basic room and with no breakfast i think we were ripped off in this stage the way the country is in...we stayed at some beautiful hotels in our day and paid less and breakfast included but would not reccomend this hotel.

The staff were all very approachable and the view from the resturant was wonderful. When we arrived the cistern handle was in a verticle position so could not flush. After ringing reception we had a choice of staying in our room until the maintainance man could come (about 2 hours) or moving to another room. We moved straight away and had an enjoyable weekend.

“We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel from the minute we walked in the door of reception there was a sense of warmth & comfort.
