The hotel is conveniently located just outside Westport, a heritage town and winner of numerous Tidy Towns and other national and international awards.

- Westport House and Country Park: Ireland's top day visitor attraction, the stately home itself is open to visitors and there are a host of other attractions including a mini-train, kiddie rides and slides, swan pedalos, ghostly dungeons and a small zoo.
- the hotel has it's own horse riding centre, located near Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. It is perfectly located for trekking around the foothills of Croagh Patrick and on country lanes. It specialises in beach treks lasting 2 to 4 hours at low tide on Murrisk and Bertra beaches.
- Country walks: the get!together! co-ordinator will help you plan your outings and advise you on the routes. Some of the easier walks begin right at the hotel door and bring you down by the picturesque quay or along the disused railway line.
Down the road are Blue Flag Beaches, Croagh Patrick and the National Museum of Country Life. Day trips include Achill Island, Connemara, Clare Island and Galway City. Outdoor enthusiasts have golf, cycling, watersports and fishing.
Internet kiosk in the reception area: EUR 1,00 for 8 minutes and EUR 2.00 for 16 minutes.
The leisure centre is complimentary but the spa is at an extra charge depending on the treatments.

It was a lovely hotel in a great location. They had made a big effort to give it the Christmas feel. The bar, restaurant and leisure centre were great. The bedrooms were poor. There was no shower curtain for half of our stay. The room was bare of any decor and not very inviting. |

only the decoration of the room (paintings and bed sheet and pillows cover) the room was quite old for a 4* standard (bathroom old, the tv really small and not flat screen) as well in the morning the breakfast was really poor (only toast and cereal present at the buffet, no fruits or yoghurt or bakerie) we had to wait more than 30 minutes to get coffee and the waitress was really rude and not helpfull (did not even say sorry or propose tea because they could not make working the coffee machine, even one guest left as she did not want to wait any longuer.) |

The receptionist on both days were very helpful and friendly such a welcoming surprise. This gave a feeling of comfort and relaxation for the duration of the stay. On the saturday we sat at the wrong table in the reception room and were told to move in the middle of our breakfast by a staff member which was not very nice. We did not know there were specific tables for breakfast at the time. |

the hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere, we were there with our 5yr old boy and it was a great experience for all of us. very child friendly, pool was lovely and all the staff were extremely helpful and polite. |

The room was very comfortable. The bar food was very tasty. Reception staff were very friendly. Its location from Westport town centre. Not very far but very hilly walk into town centre. |

We loved the location - backing on to woods and a lake was great. Also loved the design of the hotel - lots of wood and natural light. Thoroughly enjoyed seaweed bath, massage and hot tub. Would definitely stay again. |

Lovely room, nice decor in bedroom and hotel in general, breakfast room was lovely, staff were friendly,very good value There was a door leading to a bedroom next door in our room. We could hear their television and conversation until after midnight, this is not ideal. The jacuzzi was out of order. Food isnt served after 9 tho they offered to bing us sandwiches as we got there at 9.30pm. Surprised there is no facility for room service for sandwiches etc |

Friendly & helpful staff Rooms need revamping very old and in parts shabby. It was fine for us as we were attending a family wedding so time spent in the rooms was minimal however i would not be booking in to Westport Woods for a weekend away. |

Very relaxing hotel with friendly staff. The rooms; bar; and dining area were very clean and modern. There was a wide variety of breakfast food which was well presented and cooked. The pool area is excellent with good facilities fitness, sauna, steam room, and childrens area. We used it every day. First impression on entering the hotel was that the reception/lobby area reminded me of an old people’s home. I think this was due to the type of chairs located there. There is also little in the way of subdued lighting, lamps etc. - When I first walked in I was so disappointed I nearly walked away ‘that would have been a mistake; the hotel has a lot to offer.’ As I watch football the Sky TV in the bar was a bonus & not well advertised. The rooms were large and airy but the bathrooms especially need updating a separate shower would be good rather than one over the bath etc. A sofa to watch TV from would also be of benefit - I'm sounding a bit negative but don't really mean to be. |

Nice communal areas to relax in, other than the room. Good value for money. Decor a bit dated. Very noisy on Saturday night but quiet every other night. |

The scenery was beautiful and it was only a few mins from the town centre When we arrived our room was not ready. We were told it would be a half hour wait but it was closer to an hour. Also the lady at reception was rude and loud and kept answering her mobile phone. |

We came in for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay. It was the first time trip in Ireland so was unsure what to expect. I found that the hotel was clean staff very friendly and the food was lovely. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa so I can't comment on that aspect. But all in all I thought that the location was good and within walking distance from Westport town. One comment I can make, is that I couldn't believe how much more expensive Ireland is! Even living in London it seems extortionate how do people manage??. I know that this situation is throughout Ireland and it didn’t spoil our stay. |

Nice atmosphere, good evening entertainment, good breakfast, nice lobby area, fabulous location, pretty good grounds, nice pool Shame about the room, dated, no plug in sink, no toilet brush, broken trouser press.bathroom dated, tepid shower, old TV, needs a revamp like the rooms on the other side of the corridor that have already been done. This apart I think it was a great place to stay |

Very convenient to Westport Town, Reception Staff on Reception very pleasant. Rooms very nice, spacious and well decorated. When we ate in the bar there were quite a few things missing from the menu. However the food that we did order was very nice. |
