Whitford House Hotel  

I paid a lot of money thing I was going to get value for money but on the contrary the hotel did not meet my expectations. It is antiquated and lacks modern features, I stayed in one of the rooms adjacent the main road so it was noisy all night.

The old lady at the reception was very rude and condescending. She did not smile or have any customer service skills, however I would like to say the staff at the bar were a lot friendlier.

Pillows not great, lamps dusty

The staff were marvellous - from the time we checked in (they were under heavy pressure) to the time we checked out.It was obvious they had quite a bit of good training! The room was fine though the placment of the tv was odd. It was difficult to watch the tv from bed as I was behind my husband and did not get a clear view (had to prop up with extra pillows and a blanket to get some height. The food was excellent and I loved the a la carte breakfast - so much better than the usual buffett. Will stay herea again and will recommend the hotel to friends.

Friendly, very competent staff. The common areas are warm and inviting, also liked the pool area. The room design is in keeping with the overall style. They had a good dinner offer the night we stayed.

The location information is wrong. It's not 2km as stated on the website and in various promotional materials, but over 4km from the town centre (we walked it - 45 mins, and there is a road sign just beyond the hotel with the distance on it). Our room smelled a bit chemical, as if someone had smoked in there before, and attempts had been made to disguise this.

It is so rare to come across an establishment where the staff are so genuinely friendly and helpful, that it left us with such a warm feeling about the place. Everyone was so accommodating and willing to go that extra mile to help. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the room was cosy & spotless, the leisure centre was great fun and a fab facility for the inclusive room rate - all-in-all a great hotel.

Just a few small points - some things were slightly dated, especially the guy singing in the bar on Saturday night! The latter reminded of something from a bygone era. A few of the common area seats needing a little fabric tlc. The location - can't be helped by the hotel, but you would need a car to get into Wexford town

Superbly cooked breakfast - every item on the plate delicious. Very friendly staff. Clean room. Good room service. Plenty parking. Excellent setting and situation for South East and Wexford.

The hotel is a very good family run hotel with excellent leisure facilities, excellent bar food at a reasonable cost. It is clean and newly decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

No air and no elevator was a problem . Very hard beds.

Hotel was very lively on Saturday night with a band playing and lots of locals in to dance. The bar food was very nice and again there were lots of locals eating there at the weekend which is always a good sign.

No but maybe a more accessible lift for older guests.

The lounge/bar in the evening served excellent food, the staff were lovely and freindly and coulnt do enough for you. The whole ambience was peacefull and relaxing. Loved it!!
