the staff at the hotel were lovely. i did not enjoy my stay at the woodstock. the hotel i think is quite deceiving. the foyer is the nicest part of the hotel. our door handle on our room was broken and was never fixed we found it extrememly difficult entering or leaving our room. the noise from the rooms either side of us was very loud we had to turn up our tv to block it out. the food in the restaurant was like a bad sunday lunch. there was no real atmosphere around the hotel. no music being played in the foyer or restaurant. there was i think a spa at the hotel but we were never told about it on our arrival nor was there a brochure in the room. i would not recommend a stay here. possibly good for golfers?!

We booked a 'family' room which was sold as a large room with a double and single bed and cot if required which, in reality was a very uncomfortable double bed (there was a sort of hill in the middle of the mattress!), a pull out sofa bed and a cot which felt like there was no mattress in it. The pool was closed to children from 7pm so after this time there was absolutely nothing for the children to do, they were not catered for whatsoever which was very disappointing as we had no choice but to spend our evenings in the hotel room trying to occupy two small children until bedtime at 9 o clock.

What a let down! This hotel was really dirty with bed linens so rough that they scratched our skin. They did not provide enough towels for the four of us in the room. The shower was broken and the only water that came out was scalding hot. The rug and the furniture was filthy as was the electric tea pot. The matresses were so cheap that it felt like we were sleeping on rocks. Our backs killed us the next day. Stay far away from this place.

The bar staff were good fun & the meal at night was taste. The room was booked as a double room and requested a double bed on booking.com. Discovered 2 single beds pushed together and parted during the night. The shower was not great & the breakfast was not fresh @ 10am only reheated. I would not consider this hotel as a 4 star but possible only a 2 star rating. The cleaning staff hovering in the corridor & the rooms at either side of us @ 10.30 so no lye on for us.. we left at 11.00am very dissapointed. I did voice this on checking out to be told that we would be "looked after on our return" I would not return or reccommend this hotel to my friends.

The price was excellent, I was a little worried about the reviews I read after booking, some complaints about cleanliness and being outdated. But on arrival, I was nicely surprised, the rooms are freshly painted and no floral sheets, bathroom very clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Id recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!

The family room we were given on arrival was nothing short of grotty. I was actually going to leave the hotel but we were offered another room instead. I would certainly go back there but the hotel needs a lot of updating. Friendly and courteous staff saved the day as well as the upgrade.

It represented reasonable value for money. Its location on the outskirts of Ennis meant that it was a quiet place for a short break. The double room was spacious and the facilities, adequate. Cobwebs in the room and an uncomfortable mattress.

We had a lovely weekend break in The Woodstock. We availed of the pool and lesiure centre which were lovely and very clean etc. Food in Bar was nicest we both have had in a long time. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Hotel could do with decorating and its a bit further from town than is described on their website. Took us 40 mins to walk to town.
