Woodstock Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort  

The staff are extremely friendly and the swimming pool was heated to perfection, very good spa with excellent staff all round at this hotel .The complimentary transport to and from Ennis when requested was great .

Staff very friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. The bar and restaurant a bit drab and could do with a facelift. The food was excellent. We were surprised to hear that this hotel was closing on day if our departure. Sorry for all the staff loosing their jobs.

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the food.

There wasn't anything I didn't like

Good service and friendly staff very helpfull. Resturant was excellent value and high standard with good selection.

On new years eve night the entertainment was only in bar. Alough it was good there were too many customers and moving to larger venue would have improved enjoyment and allowed more people to dance as area was very small. We had to sit out side bar area as all seats were taken. We were under the impression that there would be a more formal celebration as we would have checked out other venues for that night. Staff were excellent and tried to ensure such a large crowd had new years drink.

Peaceful

I was there for my friends wedding. Thought the service was good, staff were nice and friendly, food was nice and tasty. Although probably could have done with some more experienced bar staff in the bar when we first arrived. There was a competent bar man on, but he was very busy there on his own, this resulted in a longer wait time than needed, you knew how many guests were coming for the wedding. Should have had one or 2 extra bar staff on to accommodate.

In our room we had 2 single beds pushed together to make a double bed. They were clearly 2 different heights which resulted in us sleeping in different beds. No mention of this by the foh staff... no acknowlegment or anything. Not too impressed with that

Attention to detail was very clear..at dinner even the simple things like the salt and pepper had nice symbols on them...alot of places I stay in its hard to tell the difference...also the pool and spa were cosy and could see from every angle..most impressive of all for us was the king size bed and luxury sheets....enjoyed alot...back again very soon....

The fire in the lobby was not on enough especially after dinner when we were having our coffee....but also it was not cold out so it was grand....

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the Indian food they served both in the bar and restaurant was fantastic - worth going just for a meal

Tables in bar were filty as we're the floors in the restaurant. Rooms were dated and dirty. Also 188 euro for two nights is a bit much for that hotel

I thought the staff were nice

The service was a bit haphazard/forgetful eg cold coffee etc. The entire hotel was a let down from the brochure/net advertisement. The whole hotel needs a face lift. The staff do the best they can with what appears to be limited recourses. On one night there were not enough chairs /tables in what seems to be a bar area without much ambience.

We particularly liked the friendliness of the staff. No request seemed to be a problem and they could not have been more friendly. Also the room was very comfortable and I liked the fact that the heat of the room was within our control. Thirdly it was great to have golf on site.

I could only find small things but it would benefit from some repairs e.g. the chairs in the bar are quite uncomfortable and would not encourage sitting for a prolonged time. The menu for Indian food was extensive (and tasted great) but if you didn't like Indian food the bar menu was a bit limited. Also one of the taps in the toilet off the reception was not working, nor was the paper towel dispenser.

We have stayed on several occasions to attend an event in Ennis. It is close to Ennis but far enough away to avoid this busy part of Co. Clare, with lovely surrounding countryside and peace and quiet. The staff are always helpful and friendly and food is good though not Cordon Bleu

Generally few grumbles at all but we did notice this time that some areas need a facelift, e.g. new carpets and a lick of paint etc. It wouldn't put us off as it is always clean.

Location was my main reason plus I had been at the hotel before. I know the other hotels in Ennis ( well 4 of them) and could have got a cheaper deal ( not by much!) but my wife and I decided on the Woodstock.

I needed to contact reception before our visit and could not find your phone number on your website. I eventually found it on s feeder site!

Friendly and no fuss, old yet clean. Nice reasonable bar food. Pool again old but clean and tidy.

Poor breakfast, arrived too soon to be cooked to order.

I had the most comfortable bed and a fantastic nights sleep. Terrific value for money

what stood out for me was the two friendly girls who we met to book in. there were very friendly, laughing which gave the impression this could be enjoyable place to stay, they treat us like we knew one another for years very happy and thank you.

Restaurant with gourmet food and friendly professional staff. Courtesy car as not public transport available. Helpful and friendly front desk. Open log fire. Peaceful surroundings.

The room was not fully dusted in a while as there was a layer of dust on the bedside lamp and other areas which are hidden from the seeing eye. Carpet stains. Oversheet torn. Not very good for a four star hotel.

Stayed three nights here, thurs, fri & sat. Arrival receptionist was lovely. Room a small bit dated but clean, tidy and spacious enough. The food... The food ( at bar) was amazing would recommend to anyone. Plenty in the portions. This hotel is excellent value for money we paid €145.00 for the room for three nights. Great value.

The only thing I can find fault with was the breakfast. It was €10 for a full irish which is expensive. And I think it may have been re-heated. And there was one member of staff in the restaurant at breakfast, he was male , I think he may have been the head waiter, he wore the waiters uniform anyway!, He was giving orders in not a very nice way to other younger staff members who were working very hard, and he was not very nice when taking our order and seemed unfriendly and grumpy. Apart from this man, all other members of staff were absolutely wonderful and should be credited with their hard work, politeness and promptness.

Felt like a morgue no life in the bar nothing to do no 3G coverage in rooms stayed three days and no one changed my towels or cleaned my room Also ten mins waiting to order my breakfast and then somehow managed to be served by three different waitresses

The food was excellent although desserts are extremely over priced. The entrance is beautiful and staff are friendly.

Our sheets were stained, it was one of the coldest nights this winter and the heater in our bedroom didn't work! We wanted to sit in the bar but there was not enough space. I don't feel it's a four star hotel at all. When we tried to complain at reception we were told there is no point talking to her as she couldn't do anything and manager wasn't there. That was apparently substantial. We had planned on staying another night with friends but chose not to as a result of this. Overall, quite disappointed and a serious revamp needed throughout the hotel.

Great central location yet only a short drive to town

Nothing, i stayed there last year and it has everything you need.

The foyer - the situation of our room close to Reception, as my husband can't walk far. The choice of bar or restaurant for food. The Receptionist when we arrived was very nice and friendly. The open fire. The parking facilities for Disabled (when not taken over by non-disabled).

The chairs were not very comfortable - they tended to sink in the middle. The armchairs were far too low for comfort. The lighting in the bedroom was poor for reading in bed or putting on make-up.
