In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is a 10-minute walk from the Old City.

- it is quaint but dated, not always in a good way (e.g. the carpeting). Certainly a different atmosphere, might be your thing or not. - i was charged twice and that matter is with booking.com. I received an email one day before the stay saying my payment had issues, and used a different credit card to resolve that. Turns out now both cards were charged. - I forgot all my credit cards and other papers, driver's license etc, when we left the room. My fault, obviously. But when i called a few days later once back in America, they said to send them an email stating i wanted my items sent urgently and would pay for the postage price. Which I did. And then followed up many times by email (never any reply whatsoever) and calls: either I'm told to call back the next day as only Abraham knows what's what, or that my items have been sent already, or (2 minutes later!) that they will be sent the same day and he will follow up by email right away. He never does. Due to the time difference it is hard to get to the bottom of it but it's been one month and I am very frustrated by their handling of it, no matter how polite they are.
it's been a month so i should post my review at the present time, even though things are not resolved... I'll try and stay objective and acknowledge the goods: - price was very good (-50% helps) $80 night for a suite is appreciated - great location, in walking distance from old jerusalem and quiet area - nice setting, quaint and fancy like in old movies - if that's your thing, it certainly has character - very friendly and helpful staff, both before the stay (on the phone they accepted right away to shift our stay by one night despite booking's policy for that reservation) and during - breakfast was good, if very basic
Hotel was generally nice and confy. Breakefast was tasty and the location was cool also.
Truly good location, two quite spacious rooms, good breakfast.
the place is falling apart. Everywhere you look at there is something way too worn or broken. There is dirt everywhere and it shows that the place hasn't have a deep clean in ages and let's not talk about refurbishing. Our bed was dirty and the bedding was stained . Breakfast is quite poor.
The room was very clean, and this is one of the most important things for me in any hotel! The room MUST be clean! And it was :-) Bed was comfortable, room was spacious enough for me. Staff was absolutely amazing, especially Abraham! Very nice treatment of the guests! Location could not be better, right in the Old City, about 10 min walk from the Western Wall. There is a shuttle going from the airport right to the hotel, and the hotel will organize a shuttle for you to pick you up when you are leaving. It was very pleasant and trouble- free stay!
i wanted to pay cash. It was not possible debloked the money from the card. The room was without balcony that was in reservation.
the wifi is very weak , worse than any other cheaper hotel in israel . and the breakfast is so simple
the location is ok , and big room .
We only had a single duvet on a double bed and there was some slight damage to the wardrobe.
The hotel is a bit past it's best but retains its charm. We had a generous suite for a low price and were very satisfied. It is located about 10 mins walk from the old town. There are some very nice restaurants close by but you need to ask where they are to find them. The staff were all very helpful. If you like a smaller but comfortable hotel this is it.
The hotel is really good for the price. It has everything you can need. Really nice personal.
Wifi doesnt work, poor breakfast, filthy carpets, lots of little things, that are broken
Location, spacious rooms, warm water
Hotel manager attitude - rude and unfriendly, but other staffs are ok Breakfast - very little choices Wifi - poor reception in the room
Room size - very huge suite size Location - ten minutes walk to the old city and the tram station Price - reasonable for what we get
TV and WiFi sometimes have poor connection, but it was not a great problem
Stuff, comfort, good breakfast, cleanliness
Many problems with the wi-fi.
The location was perfect, the breakfast was good, the staff was helpful when we needed them. Good value for the money.
not the better breakfast
very classy service, large room and larger bathroom. Hydromassage
amazing friendly staff and helpful reception
We were unable to find a restaurant nearby.
Had a very unique and traditional decor in the lobby. Good Breakfast. Wifi worked fine. Near the tram line. Neighborhood was a little sketchy but OK .
The breakfast and service was poor, did not provide what was requested, the room was very small for two people.
The room was quiet and comfortable,
location . staff . balcony .the size of bed and the bath room
The staff was not very friendly (mostly indifferent) and not very knowledgeable about Jerusalem, which seemed strange given the hotel's location. They knew nothing about the Jewish Quarter at all. The cleaning staff did not come back to clean later during the day, if you slept late.
The location was pretty good, a 10 minute walk to the Damascus Gate and close to the Garden Tomb site and the Muslim Quarter. The bedroom was large with a living room next door and a large, nice bathroom.
Noise during day, access - to far away.
No parking in the area
Room size and the service
little bit outdated, wild garden and the carpet has to be cleaned.
Like the location, the typical Arabic atmosphere. Nice breakfast, the suite was very nice, charming place.
The hotel is slightly worn, but a lot of character, and the location is excellent--right opposite the American Colony, and a short walk to Damascus Gate. I should note also that the room resembled more a suite, with a living room and bedroom! We also had a nice balcony. The staff is super friendly and proved quite helpful whenever we needed help with something.
