National Hotel is in one of Jerusalem's busiest shopping districts, a 5 minute drive from Herod's Gate, an entrance into Jerusalem's Old City. Parking and Wi-Fi are both free.

I've stayed here a number of times because the quality has been consistently good over several years. The staff is courteous and always helpful. The excellent restaurant is a plus.
No negatives that I can think of.
The staff was helpful and polite. The location is fine. The restaurant is OUTSTANDING,
My single room was very small. That would have been ok but the bathroom was minuscule. I"m pretty tall and there was very little space to move around in. That was a downer.
Very friendly and helpfull staff, homely atmosphere, good restaurant, convenient location.
Extremely small bathroom, it took acrobatics to make use of the toilet. Also, a shower curtain that sticks to your body while showering is not so pleasant.
Restaurant was excellent, be warned huge portions, staff were extremely helpful, gave us travel info , short walk to light rail stop, short walk to the Old City , access via the Herod Gate. Would definitely recommend staying at the Azzarha ,in fact the only way to repay the hospitality we were shown is to recommend travellers to Jerusalem is to stay there.
there was nothing to dislike
location, staff, and restaurant were great. price was good for the location and compared to other hotels near the old city.
The inside conditions are very good, the location is close to Herold's gate, a clean hotel with great staff, i really enjoyed my stay there!
This hotel is conveniently situated at walking distance (approximately 10 min.) from the Old City. The staff is very helpful and friendly and seems to be sincerely concerned about making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Breakfast is good and the restaurant serves great food for dinner.
No negative remarks come to mind.
Location is great just five minutes walk from Herods gate. Breakfast is big and very tasty. For the price there is unlikely to be a better hotel in jerusalem.
The only bad thing is that the area is noisy at night.
Location is great, close to Bab Al Amoud. The building is a great example of Jerusalem, Palestinian architecre. The staff were great and really helpful. We had authontic Palestinian food for lunch and it was perfect the pita bread was baked in front of us. I look forward to my next stay.
Great staff. Good food. Excellent location.
Rooms and furniture a bit old, but clean and comfortable.
Big bedroom, with a great balcony. The restaurant is very good, local food and bear.
Very friendly family. Made all the arrangements for excursions, transportation and gave some good advice about where to go. All in perfect english. Made me feel at home and having a good restaurant at your hotel was a great plus.
Bathrooms are clean but look a little bit dated, so if you're into 'design' go waste your money in a fancy (expensive) hotel in new Jerusalem. Didn't bother me.
Room to small, smaller than declared on Booking.com
The stuff was extremly helpful and very nice! The hotel is very close to the downtown, in east Jerusalem but don't be afraid to go there! The streets are a bit dirtyer than in west Jerusalem but nothing else! We asked people on the street for help and everybody was very helpful. Next time I'll go there for sure!
The whole experience was wonderful. The owner greeted me and she was so kind. As soon as I arrived -- sweaty and exhausted from crossing the Jordan border -- she got me a glass of delicious lemonade and had some staff bring my bags up to my room. I ended up with an even nicer room than the one I had booked, but I was only charged for the one I booked! And the prices are fantastic, much better than anything on the Western side. The hotel is gorgeous; the ambiance is very historical. The breakfast was truly complimentary (not like some hotels that end up charging you for it on the final bill) and it was a huge and delicious Arabic spread. She even gave me a poster as a gift upon leaving. I will stay here any and every time I come to Jerusalem. (Also, it's just off Salahadin Street, which is great for shopping, and its only ~1.5 blocks from the Old City, near the iconic Damascus Gate entrance!).
There is nothing bad to say about this wonderful hotel.
I fully recommend this hotel. It's just a couple of minutes to Jerusalem's old city with entrance either via Herod's or Damascus gate (about 10 min). The staff is very friendly.
Excellent staff, very helpful and cheerful. Great restaurant!
Small room and they need new mattresses on the beds but not too uncomfortable.
This was the best hotel we experienced during our visit in Israel. Very kind and helpful receptionists! The hotel looked a bit dodgy on the outside but don't be fooled, it is lovely on the inside. The room we were given was supposed to be a triple room but was quadruple instead. It was clean and rather spacious. The towels were fresh and smelled heavenly every day. We definitely appreciated the compliment fruits and water we received on arrival - really nice touch, especially coming from the hot Dead Sea. Breakfast was extremely rich with great variety and the coffee machine made great espresso. Location is 10-15 minutes walk from Old Jerusalem (Damascus gate) and 20-25 mins to Jaffa Gate. There's a restaurant right next to lobby of the hotel (10% discount for hotel guests) - all salads were great, main meals were hit and miss. I would recommend this hotels to any friends visiting Jerusalem.
Nothing major - parking could be a bit tricky as local block the entrance to the hotel parking but the staff is trying to deal with this.
We loved our stay at the Azzahra Hotel. The staff was so kind and helped us every way they could it is not fancy but it is like a home away from home. The restaurant is excellent and ate 2 out of the three nights knowing there are plenty of other options.
Nothing, preferred to stay in the East side there is more action and a lot of fun:) Will stay again!
Staff at hotel were very helpful and courteous.
Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Great location and the hotels restaurant is also worth a visit. We loved how the hall ways were laid out and decorated. Would definitely re book this hotel.
Was a bit hard to find in the beginning as its a bit off the road, But that is also a good thing. The bathroom could do with a small refurbish.
Location is perfect - 7 minutes to the Old City (Herod's Gate) Very good restaurant working also on Friday nights and Saturdays. Friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom and window frames requires renovation
- good food and breakfast - friendly staff - rabbit in the garden - fruits and water in the room
- a bit noisy - very small room with run down furniture
Azzahra thoroughly deserves it's high rating and what's more they have the best pizza in town. Very professional and polite staff.
everything was perfect, we had a room with a big bathroom and a nice terrace. The restaurant has very good food and prices were ok (even pizza was great...and i'm italian). The position is ok for old jerusalem and not very far ( 10 min) you have light train to west jerusalem. Staff were all so kind and helpful.....i would come back with no doubt
