Located along the authentic narrow streets of Jerusalem's old city, the Chain Gate Hostel is made entirely of Jerusalem stone and provides air-conditioned accommodations with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 385 reviews Good
National Hotel is in one of Jerusalem's busiest shopping districts, a 5 minute drive from Herod's Gate, an entrance into Jerusalem's Old City. Parking and Wi-Fi are both free.
Score from 709 reviews Very good
- Good location - Clean room - Helpful staff - Good breakfast. Would definitely stay in the same place!
- Air conditioning was hard to regulate: it was either too cool (on min.) or too hot (off) at night.
good location, kind staff
Location. The man in breakfast/dining is very friendly
Messages from friend to the desk is not delivered to the room. Bed linen is too short and poor
Close to old city Good arab breakfast
Friendly staff, good location and a quiet room with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel!
Good staff, parking possibility (50NIS per 24h) at next was very great.
Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was good
Hotel is well seen for refurbishing
Very good arabic breakfest
The cost and location are great. 5 minutes to the Damascus Gate! There are wonderful merchants selling juice, pastries, coffee... the list goes on and on. On top of this, the staff is excellent. They are attentive and want to help you enjoy Jerusalem. Thank you to Hussein and Mohamed for their friendship. They convinced me that Jerusalem is a truly special city. I will be staying at the Capitol Hotel on my next journey to Jerusalem!
really good breakfast, balcony
this area of the city (dirty and loud)
very close to damascus gate, good breakfast, helpful stuff
not very clean rooms, old furniture, dusty
Good location and breakfast
Dirty, used up room and other facilities.
Extremely nice and helpful staff, great location just next to Damascus gate of the Old city
Very near old city and walls
Booked me in another hotel for one of two nights
I like this hotel, been there before. It's not luxury but I'm not looking for that either. Nice stuff, very good location, amazing view from most of the rooms, breakfast varies a little bit every morning (our favorite was the one with pancakes), also the children enjoyed. Thank you!
Friendly staff, near the Damasco gate (good position). Wide room. Good breakfast.
Great staff, very nice groop of people indeed. Awesome location in East Jerusalem, very close to Old City. People at the desk helped us to arrange a really cheap trip to Palestine and Dead sea and also provided useful tips for travelling around Jerusalem and places to eat.
The best value for you money in Jerusalem, perfect location 5 min walking from the Damascus gate and orient market, spacious rooms, friendly staff.
Reasonable room rate for a big city, rich good Arabian breakfast buffet, 24 hour reception, good Location, Close to the old town, 24 hour reception, free Wi-Fi. Some staffs are very kind and really helpful, some are not very friendly.
If you are unlucky your room is facing a huge graveyard. Room with a balcony but you can not use it as the door is locked. Amenities are only supplied for the first day. More like a hostel than a hotel.
Friendly workers who responded positively to all requests. Low staying costs comparitive to the excellent location next to the old town.
Though we were never treated infavourably by anyone, we did not like very much to walk by night the 200 meter that separates the old town from the hotel ( nobody on the street)
We wanted a two beds room and it was no problem. The beds are old but comfortable. The room was ok. The location is quite ok, it takes you around 20 minutes to the jaffa gate. The location is in a bad district I think, but it seemed safe.
The breakfast was ok. I had only bread with jam. But they offer cheese and vegetables, cornflakes, fruits. The value for the money is not that good. We paid for one night in a double room 65 euro with breakfast. I know that israel is expensive. But anyway. I had beytet hotels for a better price here. For 45-50 euro it would be fair.
Friendly and helpful staff. Fairly close to mosque and kissing wall
Very old fashioned hotel, in need of updating.
Bad energy, next to a graveyard.. Weird dreams I had...
