In Tel Aviv’s lively Florentine neighborhood, this hostel is exclusively for people between 18 and 45 years old. It offers bright dorms and guest rooms, with a cooling fan and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 305 reviews Very good
In a former textile factory on the border between Tel Aviv and Jaffa, Overstay-TLV has a rooftop lounge area and provides free Wi-Fi and free coffee and tea. Its exterior is decorated with street art....
Score from 287 reviews Good
In the heart of Tel Aviv is the Gordon Inn, a comfortable, modern bed & breakfast near Gordon Beach. It offers rooms and dormitories, and free drinks at the bar until midnight.
Score from 530 reviews Good
Set across from the free public beach, this property is on Herbert Samuel Promenade, Tel Aviv's most lively neighborhood. It has a rooftop terrace with a bar, lounge chairs and panoramic sea views.

Not the Hostel's fault - sometimes some people act a little rude.
I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. It is really easy to take busses to/from this hostel, the supermarket in the street is open 24/7 and the owner is really friendly. The hostel is also clean. Walking to the beach, jaffa and the market is easy.
Being my first time using a hostel I was not sure what to expect but Chef was like staying in somebody's house rather than a dorm. I was told that this place is much nicer/homier than avg hostels and do not expect this quality everywhere. The owner was nice, helpful and informative about everything in Tel Aviv. Location right off of Allenby is great and only a 10-15 min walk from the beach.
The internet was spotty but I think there was an issue with the company.
- 10-15min to beach by foot - Lots of info and maps (for free) to help finding restaurants, touristplaces and anything. - Roy, the owner, knows about the whole town and gladly helped us knowing where, when and how to find all the local markets, shops and more, very useful. - Cab from airport (Ben Gurion) is about 26€ for two ppl incl. luggage - AC system very effective - The city street (Rothchild St.) is less than 100m from the hostel. - In this room there's also a small fridge wich we used every day (plus other comforts). - the bus/shared taxi to the bus station goes by the street all the time. - Plenty of organized activities and tours to the dead sea, restaurant visits, bar crawls, and other activities such as the biking tour upnorth to the gardens. - Having breakfast on the porch in the shade was terrific - Israel in general is a very nice place to go too, people are nice, and we both felt very safe at all times, even though we came in the middle of this summers conflict. Also no one ever tried to scam or rob us. We're coming back again!
There's not a lot to complain about but here goes: - My wife wasn't as pleased with cleanliness as I was but in my opinion it's no worse than any other place I've been to. It's still ok. - It's good to have a kitchen and fridge downstairs but it was a bit hard to find the stuff I needed. - The wifi didn't reach very well to my cellphone in the room since it's far from the router, but the computer (macbook) did just fine. The connection was Ok, not great, but we spent most of our time outside anyway so it's not a real problem in my opinion.
Good location,friendly staff,wi-fi is better.
Great athmosphere with young professionals from Europe Very clean shared bathroom and public areas Great free activities organized by Roe, your host Group dinners and breakfast at cost, to know the other vistors and network Amazing location meters away from Carmel Market and lively nightlife hub of Rotshild Bvd.
Too short stay :-)
The best hostel I have ever been to. - Clean - Great price/value - Secure - No cheating Great additional services: - Owner is providing free bike tours around the city - He can rescue you with cheap, and very tasty breakfast for hangover (fried, not some poor sandwiches) - You are looking for some great clubs nearby? Owner will show you some (guide is for free). I will get back there! For sure!
+WIFI +friendly staff (Roy) +good breakfasts made by Roy +local PCs +perfect location +A/C in rooms +laundry for free
Wonderful bike ride through the city - for free! Great breakfast for only 15 ILS.
The helpfulness of the staff is great, but maybe a little bit too intense. I am a lone wolf, so maybe it's just me :)
Helpful staff, good location - not too far from the beach and city center. Good air-condition
Wifi connection was good at the reception but with problems in private rooms.
We had the amazing double room with a balcony for a good price and this was truly great. It has the hostel-vibe but with hotel-comfort within the room.
Wanted to stay longer but as they were unable to log on to the system they were not sure whether they could facilitate us; we therefore moved while later it turned there was still room..
Very close to everything you need, in the hostel there are some volunteers staying and they are always around to answer all your questions. We enjoy our stay a lot.
Very friendly staff, good location, nice atmosphere.
Everything was great. This is a very cozy hostel. Location is far from the beach, but close to many wonderful cafes, restaurants and designer shops.
Very nice people there who can help you with everything from taking the right sherut to where to go out!
Beautiful backyard. Good location, good directions posted to various sites. Friendly owners.
They advertise as having wifi but when you arrive it says that it is a type of network that doesn't work with all devices (my computer is a 3-year-old PC and it didn't work). There are no locks on the room doors, which I wouldn't mind except that the code for the main door doesn't seem to ever change. No pool in the backyard as there was in pictures :(
On site we were charged a higher price than the one given by booking.com.
I had a brief but very good time at Chef Hostel. I accidentally reserved multiple nights when I only needed to stay one and they didn't charge me for it even though I cancelled within less than 24 hours of the date. The owner is very accommodating.
I liked going to the Beach in Tel Aviv and the joyful atmosphere on Friday.
The private room's shower was unpractical, behind the door. When on, all the water would wet the toilet paper and everything else in the room. The water did not leak entirely into the drain, because it was not well positioned. The cupboard in the room did not have grippers. The air conditioning could not be regulated and was too cold.
Great people who were very nice and helpful
Honestly the fear of Hamas rocket attacks. But that had nothing to do with the hostel
The owner is really nice
Great location, very friendly staff willing to help with anything. They will give you directions, serve with any advice you need. Given the tense situation it was really important and we felt reassured and safe :)
The size and comfort of the room and the en suite bathroom allowed privacy. The proprietor was very friendly and keen to help. The location in the centre of Tel Aviv. Walking distance to a lovely beach and Jaffa.
The common staircase was very tired looking. The shower head kept slipping down.
Private room was lovely but no towels were provided.
Staff weren't very attentive at all.
