In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is a 10-minute walk from the Old City.

Score from 78 reviews Very good
The 24 hr Supermarket below and close proximity to the Mamilla Mall and Japha gate of the Old City is fantastic. This is a small hotel, with small rooms and ideal to sleep in a clean bed with a hot shower and being able to explore Jerusalem on foot.
No elevator, but stairs are not too bad. Room smelt of smoke.
Stuff is really nice. Yes, there is no reception - however I do not see an issue of this, as you just call them or go in the local store just below the rooms. We had a small issue with the hot water (cold and hot was switched that we overlooked jet-lagged) and it took 30sec for someone to help us.
Very noisy! They did not have any noise blocking in the hotel or the windows. The front window faces a shop that is open 24/7, and people are shouting all night.
A totally amazing location. We were shocked at the small room, then grew to love it. All was clean and in working order. Big storage. Really friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous view over the street.
They need to find a safer location to keep your suitcases during the day.
There was WiFi and a tv. Showers worked and had hot water. Shabbat friendly
The rooms are tiny. We were not given toilet paper. They did not record my reservation. The room was very dusty-especially under the bed.
Location & the 24 hour grocery store (also serving as the hotel reception!)
Wi-Fi was poor and I could not use Skype.
exellent location. if you need 1-2 budget nights in the center of Jerusalem it's ok. The room was very clean, everything insde is new, nice bathroom and small but cosy room. Boutiq hotel - only 7 rooms or so...
The reception in in the supermarker (yes!) near. The guy in the supermarket didn't speak English or Hebrew. He wanted to chare us more than booking.com but when we showed him an email from booking.com agreed to the price stated there.
Close to the most important places to see in Jerusalem, a good relation cost/benefits.
The cleaning of the apartment could be better.
Security - had a guy walk into my room late at night giving me the biggest fright. Manager explained it was a mistake. The next day, I saw a man loitering in the hallway who bolted down the stairs after he saw me. Manager explained he was doing cabelling. When I got back to my room a new TV was installed. Nice to know I was informed of this! Luckily I had locked most of my valuables but imagine if I hadn't??? I should have been told prior and asked if this was ok, not discover this in retrospect.
Free upgrade to a larger room, awesome view of Jerusalem and the supermarket was right below where the staff was on top of everything with a smile. Super clean and shampoo and soap and clean facilities and a nice bed, def recommend.
The stairs I has to climb a little, a elevator would be nice but the hotels small so I know that be impossible.
Location cheap, affordable
Rooms were tiny. Bed right up against two walls. Literally no room to open a suitcase
helpful staff view from our very big window 24h open market beneath (even in shabat!)
For single person good location at good price, should you want to be in the center.
Location, location, location
The room was barely bigger than a shoe box. Walls are too thin so noise coming from the adjacent rooms was loud and non-stop through the early hours of the morning. No late checkout option, we had to leave the room by 11:00 AM even though it was a Saturday. No front desk, you have to deal with the supermarket staff next to the "hotel".
The owner, Gidon is a very nice, helpful and understanding person.
Fantastic location. Owner of the hotel also owns the grocery store below the hotel. He gave us some free food to go with the room, which was very nice.
The TV and phone did not work, and when we asked that they be fixed, it did not happen.
Very small rooms, no day light, no reception, dirty bad
The location of this hotel cannot be beat if you want to be within walking distance to the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City. Literally, you walk across the street, through the upscale outdoor Mamilla Mall for five minutes, go up the stairs, and you're there at the old city's Jaffa Gate and the Tower of David. The view from the room we had was awesome! We saw the old city and a tower down the street and the Mamilla Mall across the street, which lended itself to fun people watching. In fact, we loved the view from our window so much that we didn't eat in a restaurant, we brought our food back to our room to eat and enjoy the view. A friend and I traveled together to see the old city and being two girls alone we felt completely safe in this area -- even walking to the old city to see the light show at 10:30 at night. There are plenty of good dining options in this area. We went to a lovely non-profit cafe run by volunteers for breakfast both mornings that was just a short block away. Parking was easy enough, once we navigated the one-way streets and found the parking garage on the same block kind of behind the hotel -- and we got a discount to park there since we were guests of the hotel. The staff/owners were accommodating and spoke English really well, which is a plus because my Hebrew is quite elementary. They even brought us a bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of water on our first night. Oh, and the price for the location was good too. Other high rise hotels in the area go for at least 5 times(!) the amount that we paid for this room and I didn't find any other smaller hotels in the area when I did my searching. If you couldn't tell, we really enjoyed our stay here. In fact, I waited to write this review until I booked a room for my brother and sister-in-law at this hotel.
One thing that was strange to us was that there was no reception area. We arrived to a locked front door, clearly marked with the hotel's name, but didn't see a reception area inside. We were standing outside with our luggage momentarily wondering if we would even have a room to stay in for the night. Within 10-15 seconds we were greeted by two men that appeared to work in the convenience store on the ground level beneath the hotel rooms. They asked if we had reservations and proceeded to check us in from the cash register in the store and then took us up to our room. This felt strange, but once we saw the room, we were excited because we didn't expect the room to be as nice as it was and we certainly weren't expecting the view. Another thing that was strange, but wasn't such a big deal, was that the door to the bathroom didn't open all the way unless you pushed it hard because it hit the toilet.
Tiny room with barely enough room for bed. Rarely some hot water. Final bill was in shekels and credit card was billed for more $$$ than the advertised price
This place is VERY central (a bit loud though due to its location)
This place must have been nice... once upon a time... Not very well maintained and dirty... Staff not very friendly... No breakfast... No parking space...
Dirty bed linen Reception is the supermarket Staff very unfriendly
Fantastic position: it is real the best in Jerusalem; 24h/24h reception; room was nice
nothing special: in our room if your shower is too long few water can go on the bath floor
The location is central. Everything else was disappointing.
The staff were not helpful or friendly (basically could not provide help to any of our requests, and even told us "there is nothing we can do"). Room was dirty (the floor had not been cleaned in a long time, dusty and black upon check-in). There was absolutely NO wifi access in the room area at all (only in the grocery store next door),and they do not provide you with the correct codes (took 4 attempts to get a working code in the grocery store). The room was open when we arrived. The TV did not work. The check-in is in the grocery store next door. There is no reception, or formal hotel service. It's run by the grocery store, & they serve their store customers first before their "hotel" (use "hotel" loosely, more like hostel) clientele. Do not recommend for the price $100/night)
Wonderful view. Great location. Above the most expensive grocery store in Jerusalem, but it was uber convenient. Once the cleaning staff forgot that they had left the room key in our door, but thankfully there was no theft. Nice bathroom for Israeli standards. AC worked. Its all about the price, location and the view. Great quality.
Location was perfect!!!!
No wi-fi in our room. Room was tooo small!
