Location to the Old City
The rooms were old and dated. The bathrooms were old fashioned and more like 2 star
lovely comfortable hotel, amazing location, close to Old City, beautiful views from my room which also had a balcony!!!! free wi-fi (i think) excellent value for the money
staff efficient but not warm, or super friendly, tho perfectly ok. similarly food at restaurant and room service: limited choices, very expensive; closed early 10pm
The location was good, and we loved being near the market and conveniently located to other hotels and sites. Breakfast was decent. Good clean bathrooms, and comfortable bed.
Rooms overall were a bit tired, but very nice views. Not very lively, as no one hangs out in the bar or the very small lobby. The staff was relatively friendly but without a real concierge they war not very helpful with directions, etc.
no swimming pool
The staff at the hotel were all really great, friendly and supportive. Also the guys that do the housekeeping are very friendly, effective and efficient (fast). The location is great when you have a car (parking) and it is close enough to Jaffa gate (10-15 minutes walk). A nice asset closeby is the old train station, with many restaurants, bars and music performances (at least during our stay). The breakfast is very good (of course, great 5 star hotels do an even better job, but that's a different level), with great variety, better than what we've seen in other hotels in Israel.
Maybe not a real "boutique" hotel, but for us it was good.
The view was lovely and the hotel was well situated.
When we arrived on Friday night the man behind the desk was a bit cold and spoke only to my husband. Perhaps it was cultural, but a bit off putting/
Everything was great. Service. Food. Location.
Buffet breakfast was very good. Excellent variety and good quality.
Décor was drab, difficult to get a smile from the staff (most of them need a refresher on "hospitality", rooms need a facelift, particularly functionality (no drawers to put clothes). Of 7 hotels we stayed at in Israel during recent visit, this one wouldn't even be on the radar.
Nael and his driving us to a necessary location! Breakfast Location was great More brochures in English for local restaurants, etc. Nearly noise free and that says much coming from me!
Need handrails in tubs. Stop dripping faucet. Have professional carpet cleaner service. Friendlier bartender. All else great.
The rooms are very big and comfortable. Breakfast was also quite good and varied.
The location is good but it is a 10 minute walk to the center and in the heat it's a bit hot.
The location was excellent. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. We thought it was a great value.
The breakfasts were not as good as I would have liked.
The room, the parking place and the wi fi
Great service, attentive and helpful staff. Super breakfast buffet with good selections. Great location within walking distance to old city.
Parking seemed limited for size of hotel. Wi-Fi in room was limited, slow and inconsistent.
Free upgrade, free newspaper, comfortable bed, wifi in room, Teapot in room with teas
Worried if I take the car out will I find a place to park when I return
The room was large and very quiet. The beds were comfortable.the breakfast was delicious and the people at the desk polite and helpful.
I found that the hotel was a little shabby and needed to be redecorated.
Great location, pleasant and helpfull staff, clean and comfortable room - no complains!
Clean, decent location, adequate room, okay price, nice breakfast
A few maintenance issues, slightly run down in appearance,
Located in a really good area - close to the railway station (which is now an area with restaurants and shops and not a working station) and the German Colony which also has lots of places to eat. 10-15 minutes from the Old City it really is a very good hotel in brilliant location for exploring the fabulous city of Jerusalem. Will definitely go back when we can.
the hotel is certainly not " within few minutes walking distance from the old town". You need at least 20 mins to reach old town walls + climbing time. Solid 3 stras, not more. Kosher menu served throughout the year i.e. no meat.
Breakfasts were great. Staff good. Clean rooms.
We stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago also during Pesach and would have stayed again last year but we were unable to come to Israel. We were absolutely delighted to be given an upgraded room and had we known about it in advance we wouldn't have changed- to the Dan Panorama-for Shabbat. Will definitely stay again. We hope either December 2014 or February 2015.
What's not to like?!
- Helpful staff - Parking facilities
- Rooms are rather dated and would benefit of a renoavtion - Cleanliness in the room should be improved (we had dirty sheets when we arrived). They were exchanged quickly and without trouble though. - location is not ideal for old-city visits, it´s around 20min walk into town
Convenient location although it is a longer walk to the old city than I thought. Near a converted train station(with shops and restaurants) as well as the German Colony which also had some good places to eat. Room was a good size, beds were comfy, breakfast was very good and staff was great. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again
location good although next to a very busy road. across from train station where there are accessible restaurants. staff was pleasant and tried to be helpful.
this is not a luxury hotel in any sense of the word. while the pictures are accurate it is dark and dreary. food not at all good although edible. same israeli breakfast as other places, but, quality just not there. there is only air conditioning in summer and heat in winter so there is no real climate control if you are on the cusp of the season. i would never stay there again. i do not think it warrants the very good review booking.com gives it.
Surly, mean, uninformed front desk
