Sound travels easily here and it gets quite noisy at times with people talking in the hallways or adjacent rooms. Although it is a good value, I wouldn't recommend it for families with children.
Nahariya is the undiscovered gem of Israel. The Ga'aton Hotel is for the sincere traveler who can do without breakfast, phones, bathtubs, elevators, daily room cleanings, concierge service or 24-hour onsite management. It is more like renting a room than staying in a hotel, which is exactly what I wanted since I'd gone to Nahariya to rest and relax. The hotel's location is excellent, just one block from the beach. Moti and his wife, Batya, were robustly gracious hosts, greeting me at check-in with fresh flowers and cookies. They promptly provided anything needed -- towels, soap, water, toilet paper, etc. They even loaned the use of a cell phone so I could be in touch with friends locally.
