The hotel staff was overall very friendly and helpful. The rooms with terrace was spacious and provided a wonderful view of the sea of Gallilea . For guests that book over booking.com the internet is for free yet you have to mention that you booked via the booking.com website. It was winter and therefore to cold to swim yet the swimming pool is lovely, 25 meter and the garden is rearranged do next summer it must be fantastic as you also have a splendid view on Sea of Gallilea from the swimming pool deck. The breakfast buffet was good with very helpful staff serving. Overall a very nice place to stay when you are visiting this region of Israel

Nice view, good breakfasr, very good piano player on Saturday evening. Even though free wiFi was advertise, it was offered at cost, and then it did not work at all. Poll anf jacizzi were still under construction, as were some other parts of the hotel.

Clean and spacious rooms. Quiet neighborhood. We booked rooms with sea view and balcony, with non-smoking preference. We got first smoking room, then non-smoking but with no balcony. There was no pool in hotel even though can be seen in pictures! Big disappointment to our children. Hotel first overcharged us. In breakfast, cheese melt due to hotness and some articles finish.

Good beds. Nice view. Choice of cheese for the breakfast Swimming pool under construction (not mentioned on the website); far from the center; reception and personnel not very friendly; disgusting tea, no good coffee, no hummus for breakfast... Hotel for groups of tourists...

The breathtaking view over Kinneret is magic, especially from the dining room. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable, but the bathrooms could do with an update / refurb. I would certainly choose Golan Hotel again when staying in the Tiberius region.

It's very easy to get to from the port area, there are little shops and restaurants within walking distance. The view is great, and the hotel is in good shape, very clean! The staff is friendly and helpful, and everyone speaks good English. It has a nice gym, and the pool looked new, though I didn't get a chance to use it. They charge you for wifi, $16 for 24 hours, while most other places it is free, but at least it was a strong connection. The pool and hot tub open late 10am, after most people head out, and close early 8pm before most people head back to the hotel.

We found the staff to be very accomodating and helpful when planning days out. Whenever we had a query or issue they always did their best to aid us. Very impressed with customer service at this hotel. We were disappointed with the lack of swimming pool, as we were given the impression when booking that there would be one available to all guests. We also thought that it would be a very short distance to the Galilee shores due to the location on the map and the descrIpton given on the website. However in fact one needed to walk to the bus stop, take a bus and then walk to the shoreline.

The Golan Hotel was clean and the lobby was comfortable and quite nice. We had coffee in the lobby and the price was the same as what we would pay in any coffeeshop, quite reasonable. There is a good gym with quite a few machines and a television that was easy to operate. The jacuzzi was great: it seemed new, had a nice view and a sun-porch that got good sunlight during the morning hours. There is a wet and a dry sauna. (The pool wasn't ready to open yet.) There is a washline in the bathroom which helped alot as we were able to dry our bathing suits overnight. The neighborhood is a combination of hotels and residential. The city is a short drive away, but quite far for a walk. The staff was friendy. The breakfast was quite good, in typical Israeli style with a huge selection of cheeses, etc. My only suggestions for improvement are to provide a bit more "condiments" (shampoo, hand creme) in the bathroom, and not to charge for using the hotel computer. None of the hotels I was in in the US, Italy, and Canada charged to use the hotel computer. But in general, it is a very nice hotel and a great deal for what we paid.

The Golan Hotel is excellent. I spent there a weekend with my wife and had a great time. The hotel has good infrastructure, it's a new building with new forniture and equipments. The room was very confortable with an amazing view of the lake Kineret (Sea of Galilee). The hotel has a huge salon with a bar and the service is great. Besides that they have a nice jacuzzi and sauna. The only thing the hotel needs to improve in my opinion is the breakfast. I was expecting more... But the food is ok, israeli style breakfast.

The Lobby was nice and front of the hotel outside. The host in the dining room was friendlier than those at the front desk. I was disappointed with our view from our room because there was a cable hanging in front of our view, tho I requested a view without the cable/wire. There was noise from the construction of the swimming pool. My son was disappointed the hot tub closed at 7:00 pm. which didn't give us enough time to eat and use the hot tub to relax at night. The food was average. When we arrived, we were not greeted with friendliness, but rather snapped at. My son was quite offended by the rudeness and would rather find another hotel. The construction noise was disturbing. We were treated rudely by the person at the front desk. We were offered no information on nearby sites or maps. Other hotels I have been to were much friendlier and offered maps, etc.

View to the Sea of Galilee was nice, as the hotel sits ontop of a mountain. Breakfast was nice. Hotel was a bit worn out, rooms in need of renovation. A bit out of town, so needed a taxi to get to the water promenade.

Golan Hotel is a nice and descent hotel. Its clean with a great view over the Sea of Galelie. Value for the money you have to spent to stay there. I don't know why the outdoor pool although it was clean & seemed to be operational they didn't allow you to go. Also, I found the breakfast poor.

“Berger Hotel was a great choice! Definite value for the money. The rooms were very large, ours had a view of the Sea of Galilee, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great pressure and was hot. The staff were all very friendly, especially the man at check in (manager or owner maybe?) They did our laundry and didn't charge us b/c it was Christmas! The breakfast was also the best we had so far (across the budget hotels we had stayed in). The hotel is a bit up the hill, and if you didn't have a car, might be a pain. However, we had a car, parking was easy and we were very happy with our choice. Thanks Berger hotel! ” Kimberly, London |
