Belfer's Dead Sea Cabins, hotel in Neʼot HaKikar

Overlooking a stunning desert landscape, Belfers Cabins are in the peaceful village of Neot Hakikar, a short drive from the Dead Sea.

Great location for exploring the southern Dead Sea area. It's located on small Moshav and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. They also own the nearby camp lodge, which creates another place too hang besides the cabin. We only spent a night, but we could have easily spent more time and really explored all the hiking trails nearby.

The Lowest Place on Earth B&B, hotel in Neʼot HaKikar

Located in Neʼot HaKikar in the South District Israel region, The Lowest Place on Earth B&B has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub.

We were more than pleased with the Lowest Place on Earth guesthouse. Noam and Michal took such great care of every detail and we felt pampered! The breakfast was first class and for those in our group who had special dietary needs, they provided for them at no extra cost. We highly recommend this guesthouse for singles, couples, families and small groups like ours.

A quiet and friendly village, designed for silence and tranquility. No bars, restaurants or other public entertainment there. Only one small supermarket available which is enough to keep you well fed and taken care of. Beautiful houses and lots of children everywhere. The beach is not far. Just don't pay too much attention to the mine fields signs - too many of them but not really a danger; leftouts from the Israel-Arab wars; should not forget that this is a border zone. The village itself is well protected, with a border military station nearby.

Neot Hakikar is a good base for people who want to explore the Dead Sea area and do not feel like staying in the cluster of hotels in Ein Boqeq. It is a little kibbutz but it has a couple of grocery shops and feels very safe and friendly ... even the local dogs were very friendly: one came out of its garden and decided to take us for a walk, in a most polite and friendly way. For a European, it is a bit exotic ... you walk down the street and suddenly behind a hedge of bougainvilleas, you see the stark desert hills that surround the Dead Sea. We were a little worried that we'd be close to the factories in the lower part of the Dead Sea, but those were quite a bit further on.

We got there at 10:00pm, as we had told them we would. It was dark and there were no lights on in the place. A large barking and nasty looking dog was outside between our car and the property. We tried calling the number provided but only got the answer machine. We turned around and drove away.
