As I said above, this is written with older people in mind. The apartment is built in such a way that the double bed in it is squeezed between two walls. There is nothing to be done about it, and this is seen on the pictures of the aparment. However, I did not pay attention to it, and only when we came to the apartment, it became obvious that to get onto the bed, one has to climb on it from its end, there is no way one can sit on the side of the bed. This is very awkward and inconvenient for older people. Another thing that can be easily improved is the scarcity of hooks for towels. There are enough towels for one person, but not for two (forget about three people). Also, according to the agreement, towels and sheets were supposed to be changed every three nights. However, on our fourth day they have not been changed. Only after I requested new towels and sheets from the owners, they have been changed. Finally, I want to mention that the owners of the apartment also own a cafe on the first floor. They have given us several discount coupons for meals at the cafe, including one coupon for a free breakfast. When I tried to use this coupon, our waitress, who was rather unfriendly and even rude, argued with us that the coupon was valid only for a very limited number of items on the breakfast menu. As a result, I had to pay for what I totally expected to be free, plus the whole experience was rather unpleasant. The owners should have a much clearer policy about the coupons that they have to clear explain to either their apartment guests or to the cafe workers.
It is my third attempt to provide a review for 129 Hanassi apartment in Haifa. For some reason Booking.com did not register my previous attempts. In any case, I was traveling in Israel with my parents who are in their late seventies. This is why I put "mature couple" as my answer to the first question of the questionnaire, and this review will be from the point of view of older people. We liked the location of the apartment, the heart of Carmel Center, a very lively area of Haifa with a lot of cafe and restaurants and in close proximity to major tourist attractions (Bahai gardens and temple, promenade, zoo). We also liked the ability to park our rental car very near the property. The owners of the place were very nice and helpful, and did all to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
