Jerusalem Gold Hotel  

The first time I attempted to stay here, I was horrified at how horrible a hotel it was and always recommended for people to never stay here. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at my visit this time. It really was lovely, clean and updated, the staff was accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The thing I hated the most was that the beds kept sliding apart. When you are there for a romantic getaway, the last thing you need is a canyon in the middle of the bed. It was never ending, even while sleeping there was a massive hole in the middle of the bed. There must be a way to strap the beds together or to get a solid double/king bed!!!

Closer to old city and the bus station. Parking facility was available

next to bus station, with new light rail system just down the stairs. clean room. quiet.

front desk staff is quite harried with all the group check-ins. We had a problem each day (on check-in a/c didn't work, next day no towels in rooms, next day key didn't work) and reception was really poor in responding.

Located next to central bus station, shopping mall, restaurants and taxis. easy to travel to any location in Israel, the breakfast is great, the staff are friendly and would organise anything you want, the hotel is equivalent to 7 stars rating, clean, great value for money. I highly recommend it for leisure and business, enjoyed every minute of it.

Everything was excellent in a very busy historical city. I enjoyed so much I booked another two nights.

the bed was very comfortable and the room was tidy and nicely furnished and decorated -- simple but in a comfortable and pleasant way without being too basic. the staff were pleasant also. Shampoo, lotion etc in the bathroom also good.

I didn't like that the on-line advertisement says that Internet Wi-fi is free and everywhere in the hotel, then when I arrived it was not accurate as a) the Internet is not free there, and b) even though the manager was willing to give me free Internet due to the ad, the room I was in (10th floor) did not get the Internet at all! So the ad should be changed...I would recommend the hotel for comfortable beds but not for Internet access. Please this should be fixed as Internet is expected these days certainly in nicer hotels...

Oustanding experience, excellent customer service, good comunication,good interaction with travelers, love it, enjoy it to the fullest with friends and family, nice enviroment.

Good hotel

Flexibility of the staff. They were willing to help us with everything we ask for.

For me this location is so central to all the rest of the city. the central bus station to take day trips to many other destinations in israel is so helpful. getting back late from somewhere is not a problem especially for women it is so safe and you feel ok doing so.. this is an ideal location to take a small group or large group to tour the land of israel. traveling alone this time the staff were so helpful in so many ways getting me taxi's and helping explain to the driver where I wanted to go.

I liked the location

I didnt like the feeling that I was getting overcharged for everything.. We were told on Shabbat that lunch was 250 shekels. They then came down in price and charged 150.Obviously the previous price was taking a chance. I was charged 60 shekels for a plate of breakfast to take up to my mother in her room - I was also charged for my son who slept over 1 night on the pull out couch. I was at a hotel in Jerusalem in 2011 and never incurred all these extras although we did the same thing. Although the hotel was clean, well located and did offer value for what we paid I dont think I will go back there.

The closeness with the bus station, convenient when you travel between 2 places and stay at the hotel between or before and after.

The restaurant wasn't as good as others for the same price, and the room wasn't very attractive.

I like Jerusalem Gold Hotel because it was close to the Old City of Jerusalem. I liked the secured parking. I liked the breakfast. I like the hotel staff there. They were friendly and helpful. It was easy to find driving from the airport. Ben Yehuda, a famous hangout place for young people is just there. The room was renovated. The shower room was new.

The parking lot was very dirty. it is underground and the parking lot just smells like oil and gas. The elevator smells bad. Looking up the elevator I could see rust. The floor inside the elevator is cracked. And I felt very unsafe inside the elevator. In the dining room. I could smell gas coming from the kitchen. I couldn't enjoy my breakfast on my last day, although the food was delicious. I planned to stay longer but I changed my mind because of the smell. I felt like I was going to get sick because of the bad smell if I had stayed there longer.
