The location was excellent and the staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was hot (no air conditioning) and the noise from outside could be heard in our room that made sleeping difficult.

Location, location, location! The Montefiore is walking distance to the Old City where you find the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchure and the Dome of the Rock. But it's also close to the Mahane Yehuda open air market and the Mahane pedestrian mall with modern shops, artisan shops and restaurants. It's also easy walking distance to a supermarket and pharmacies in case you want to pick up some drinks or snacks for the hotel and the rooms do have a small refrigerator. It can be difficult to find restaurants open on Saturday in Jerusalem and it just happens there is one right around the corner from Montefiore. There are also two coffee shops just a stone's throw from the hotel front door and a nice courtyard in front of the hotel with small shops. Taxis and buses to other parts of Jerusalem are easy to catch by crossing the courtyard to either one of the two streets that run perpendicular to the little street/courtyard where the hotel sits. It is a basic hotel, not luxurious, but clean and nice in the rooms. The breakfast room which is also a world class restaurant for lunch and dinner is nice as is the lobby. The staff are excellent and very helpful. It's an excellent price for the location in Jerusalem. The beds are the traditional twin beds pushed together and they are on the narrow side, but I booked a single room so you could inquire to see if there were larger beds in the double rooms.

The location is excellent and the hotel is a good base for sight-seeing. The staff were very helpful. It was difficult to find and more information about location would be useful. There is no car parking space but there is an arrangement with a nearby car park. The breakfast was not very good. In particular there was no fresh fruit, but only tinned fruit, which was rather strange in Israel.

Very nice hotel on a quiet pedestrian-only street. Reasonable walking distance to desirable shopping areas and the Old City. Breakfast spread does not compare well with other similarly priced hotels we stayed in on our two-week trip.

The reception desk team are very educated and helpful. The hotel is near to everything including the old city and Manilla Mall. It stands in a pedestrian street which makes it silent, so you can have a good night of sleep. Breakfast is fair and the restaurant Angelica inside the hotel is very good. For those of judaic faith the hotel is kosher and it also includes the elevator that from Friday to Saturday evening works stopping in each floor. For those used to hotel is us change your mind set. Hotels' rooms in Jerusalem are usually small and the Montefiore wouldn't be different but it's very comfortable. I would only suggest them to remove the carpet that may cause discomfort to those who are allergic.

The people, the excellent cuisine in the attached restaurant. Its tranquility. Closeness to the centre and the Old City, so able to walk everywhere. The staff were very kind to us when they found out we were in Jerusalem for my Mother's Funeral. The fact that the tv didn't work thought our stay but this was a minor point. Not too much information about what to do with regard to food during the Sabbath. A large party of school children arrived at the hotel but breakfast arrangements did not cope with the sudden influx of a large group.

The location was absolutely outstanding. It was on a pedestrian street so there was no car traffic to deal with. It was within easy walking distance to either get a cab or bus to go somewhere. There were several good restaurants within walking distance and it was within walking distance to Jaffa Gate, the primary entry to the Old City. The breakfast was ample and good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Small item, but we would have liked to have had access to some ice.

The front staff especially Andre are so helpful. Wonderful hotel for location and value for money. Have stayed for two years in a row and plan on staying next year for our annual visit. Breakfast could a a little more elaborate. More fresh fruit please.

convenient locatiion--middle of city...near synagogues...and easy walking places..could have ussed 2 separate beds rather than one and share the blanket..2 separate covers would have been good.. there was only one elevator and it was for shabat...there should be another one with freer access...mealtimes were quite late.lobby was not so pleasant.

The best things about the Montefiore Hotel are its location, near main bus routes and shops, yet in a pedestrianised street. The reception staff are especially helpful. One night there was banging going on - I think outside the hotel.

Very nice breakfast. My room was located next to the stairway and the elevator. Since there was an ashtray by the elevator my room smelt of cigarettesmoke when ever someone was smoking there, which was very unpleasant.
