Montefiore Hotel  

Hotel is in a good and safe location. It is a 20-25 minutes walk to the Damascus Gate entrance into the walled city of old Jerusalem.

Breakfast was plain and mediocre

Location was good, not far from city center and main restaurants / shops streets just few blocks away.

Breakfast was average.

I really appreciated the staff on reception. I found them very helpful and pleasant. They made a booking for me and loaned me a small laptop to use in the foyer of the hotel. The beds were good and the location was excellent. I could walk to the Jaffa Gate; through the new Mamilla (no public seating); down Ben Yehuda Street; to the Jaffa Road and the Mechane Yehudah was not far. It was a cheap cab ride to the Central Bus Station and the Israel Museum.

The bathroom could have been cleaner and the towels could have been better quality.

The location was fabulous, walking distance to most things - a great coffee shop across the street.

The room was overall not cleaned very well, there were no amenities provided in the bathroom like shampoo,

A friendly atmosphere, good and really helpful reception staff. The hotel is geared up to the information requirements of independent and group visitors There was plenty of useful information about getting around Jerusalem and other places of interest to the traveller. This is a city centre hotel in an interesting pedestrian precinct, not far from lots of varied activity. It is served well by both buses and the new tram/train service. The back courtyard which we overlooked was quiet. In general, we found the hotel, for a city centre hotel, to be very quiet. The bathroom had average facilities. A hairdryer could be borrowed from reception. A big plus was, that a large international plug was provided for sink and bath use. There was an over the bath washing line, it's a pity it was jammed. There was an ample wardrobe with a safe. There were lots of drawers. A courtesy tray was provided.

Sabbath breakfast was not very appealing. Open plastic boxes were filled with dirty dishes and left in the dining area. The Dining room decor and furnishings looked worn and weary. The hotel could benefit from a bit of freshening up. The wifi was best used in the mornings, later in the day, it was difficult to access it.

The location was very good. It was a short (15 minutes) walk to the Old City of Jerusalem. Our room was comfortable and clean.

The breakfast buffet was limited. The hotel is on a pedestrian only street, and the parking is 1+ blocks away, so we had to carry our luggage that distance to the hotel. It's a good thing that my wife and I are in good shape, because I don't think an elderly couple could handle that trek.

The service was excellent and there is free and strong wifi throughout the hotel. Feels like 4 star even though it was 3 star!

no room service although there is a restaurant in the hotel. There is also a mini mart across the street and two cafes.

The room is extremely comfortable and clean. The airco is a bit noisy but other than that no complaints.

The breakfast is a huge letdown. The hotel is fancy and neat but the breakfast is poor and not exactly candy for the eyes. Poor quality products and limited variation. It is served in the hotel restaurant which apparently turns into a exclusive grill restaurant in the evening...... Most of the staff was not overly friendly.

The staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Slightly farther away from main tourist sites than we had inferred from website...about a 20 minute walk. Also, parking was off site and about a 5 minute walk.

The hotel is very comfotrable and quiet.

Top floor room was noisy with a fan going non stop. service for breakfack lacking.

We have been upgraded automatically and the staff was very nice.

Breakfast is poor, you should not take it there but near by the hotel.
