The location is wonderfully located near the Jaffa Gate to the Old City. The breakfast buffet was always delightful and worth the upgrade. The staff were friendly and spoke good English.

Wi-Fi should be available for free in the rooms. We had good free wi-fi connection in the lobby but not in the room.

Perfect location just next to the Old City. I highly recommend this hotel to travellers who come to see the Holy Land. Combines perfect location with comfort. Pool is also great!

Almost everything, pool was beautiful, rooms were lovely, view from lobby spectacular. Architecture magnificent.

Staff could be a little friendlier. Front desk needs to be able to make change for customers regardless of day. Very limited food offering when dining room not open.

Excellent location, at easy walking distance from the Old City (Zion gate or Jaffa Gate) and from the German colony with its many restaurants. Amazing view on the Old City. Beautiful historic building. Large and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Staff indifferent and unsmiling (an Israeli general behaviour when it comes to hotel staffs). Service rather poor. Very (too) big hotel, sometimes overcrowded by large noisy groups or congress guests. Breakfast rooms sometimes overcrowded early morning by departing groups.

It is a beautiful hotel. Feels like an antique type and gives you a strong taste of feeling like you are in the land

The antique feel is charming but the hotel is a bit weathered. It could use an overhaul. Rooms were clean but felt like its been awhile since the carpet has been changed or walls painted.

Location was superb and this, together with the inspiring views, the atmosphere, the decor, and the design, which is a delightful fusion of old and new, typically middle eastern on one hand and very representative of modern-day jerusalem on other hand, allwent to making this an excellent place to stay.

The room was filthy, run down and small. I would neither go back there nor recommend it to anyone I know. There was a ticking coming from the next room the entire night. The staff opened our door at 7 am, despite the do not disturb sign. Breakfast was an extra $26/person.

The bathroom should provide not just one big shower towel but also: one face towel and more importantly a floor mat to come out of the shower. It presents a safety hazard to walk with wet feet over slippery floor.

Beautiful old hotel with history and charm! If you can, get a room with a Balcony - it's well worth it! Watching the sunrise over the Old City was one of the best memories of an amazing trip. Make time to explore the hotel and grounds, don't forget your camera.

The Heating/Cooling is only partially controlled by the room. The Hotel switches between the rooms having heating or air conditioning.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful

Air con was switched off too early and it was hot in the room. Fan was supplied.

Excellent location and very interesting design. There are many hidden passages and stone stairs leading to patios. Breakfast is fantastic with a lot of cheese and fresh vegetables, salads.

Rooms can be cleaner.

To be honest, the service of the hotel wasn't good as we thought. The Friday night meal was really not good, no taste, no variety, the containers of the food were closed, when you want to take the food you were needed to go to the second dinning room...no options for soft drinks during the dinner...the dinner started too late, and in the morning it was finished to early.... Beside the location I cannot think of any other advantages of this hotel... And we came to this hotel for our honey-moon.

The hotel is beautifully furnished, maintaining the traditional character of the building. Staff were helpful and the room was comfortable, with a delightful terrace. The location is excellent for exploring the Old City.

No free wi-fi, which was pretty inconvenient. And the quality of the wi-fi once paid for was variable.

We have stayed here more than once. Consistently, the staff are not nice. they have an attitude.
