In the centre of Jerusalem, Dan Boutique Hotel offers spacious rooms with air conditioning. The hotel staff offer a personalised service and there is a large furnished terrace.
Score from 539 reviews Good
In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is a 10-minute walk from the Old City.

We were excited to return after 10 years when we celebrated our son't Bar Mitzvah at this hotel. The grounds (lovely garden with big pool) and location (view of the old city) are magnificent. The hotel has definite character with some buildings and decor from the Turkish period. Food at breakfast was plentiful and varied. Fellow guests were polite and very international.
The 'special' room was in fact a regular room that almost everyone gets unless they upgrade to a citadel room (Turkish period) or a villa. Staff at desk were very rude and spoke 'behind our backs' (I understand Hebrew, however). We were charged more for meals than the original quote. Cooked food was tasteless and fruit wasn't even washed.
Location and appearance
price!!!! Way too high for quality of rooms!!
Style of the hotel and great location. Very good Friday night meal. Love the hammam
The staff need to appreciate that the guests are the focal point of their jobs. They need to welcome guests with a smile on their faces.Too busy spending their time on their phones rather than focusing on their guest's requirements.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel location was good and the view of the valley was excellent. The dooman gave us very good directions and warned us about taxi drivers who overcharge.
We had two problems: the air conditioning fan was very loud and the toilet was loose at the floor. Your people kept thinking the problem was the toilet seat. Avi was the only one who understood the problem and fixed it. He did an excellent job.
Excellent location across a small valley with a view to the Old City; easy walk to Jaffa Gate. Good breakfast buffet with wide selection of food, though oddly, you have to squeeze your own orange juice. Cool old building, too bad it's not a better hotel experience.
We splurged on a deluxe suite - supposed to be one of the original rooms, which look fabulous on the website but turned out to be fairly average - it was truly a terrible value for money. Our "deluxe" room had one small window, average bedding / furniture, and a very strange shower cubicle. Other than a nice & helpful front desk clerk at check in, the staff generally seemed poorly trained - door man would not call a taxi, trays of dirty dishes left in hallways for hours, guy mopping floor shoos guests out of his way, etc etc. Definitely would not book again.
- Very nice and helpful staff - Great pool - Quiet - Beautifully designed
- Superior rooms have their "queen" bed made out of two connected single beds, which leads to an annoying separation in the middle of the bed. - Breakfast is very good but nothing thrilling.
Pool, location, views
The view, the overall ambiance of the hotel, the breakfast, the bed, large room, nice people
while the parking was right across the street, it is a public lot. No guarantee of availability or safety. It is also a bit of a hike up to the Old City, but not unreasonable.
they made me pay extras for unjustified reasons
the smell of smoking the view
The location and view was amazing. Very clean hotel. Lovely food. The pool was wonderful, never really crowded.
The standard room was smaller than I expected for the price. The bottom of the paddling pool needed cleaning, a lot of sand/ dirt had accumulated there.
The pool is amazing The location is great
The hotel is oldish
Location was good.
Breakfasts were very expensive compared to other hotels that include the breakfast with the room rate. $28. US per person was out of line.
Friendly staff upgraded us to suite. Good breakfast buffet.
Noisy breakfast room when many guests
We had a room with a balcony and it was really nice. Cookies and apples awaited us, which was a pleasant surprise (although the remnants were never taken away)
Although our room with a balcony had a great view, our daughter's room, looked out at another room and that was disappointing. Our balcony room had cookies and apples waiting for us, but the remnants were not cleaned away our whole stay.
location, cleanliness, breakfast, layout, charm, most of the staff, efficiency, nice little touches, view, quiet room, terraces, pool
one breakfast room guy a little brusque but not bad, expensive but consistent with Jerusalem prices in general, really not much not to like
The location was excellent, the unquie feel of the hotel was delightful, the pool area was very well laid out.
Great hotel. Architecture of building is magnificent. Makes yo feel like you are in Jerusalem. Extremely helpful front desk staff. Location provides a spectacular view of the Old City. Within walking distance of center of city, but easier by bus or cab.
This was my third time staying at Mt. Zion hotel - it is a beautiful hotel, clean, and most of the staff was very solicitous especially in the security situation we had in July 2014.
If a hotel advertises free parking with a room then they should have enough parking available for all guests that request and need it. I rented a car partly with the knowledge that parking was available. Guests are allowed to park in two very small lots across the street - competing for spaces with regular Jerusalem residents and with people attending the renowned Jerusalem Intl. film festival. I had to double park and run into the hotel when I checked in to ask about parking and the security and front desk staff were extremely short, unfriendly, and unhelpful. I was told to just 'find something on the street' - 'it's not our problem.' I was very fortunate that the staff at the Scottish Hospice Guest House, where I had been staying before, allowed me to park on their grounds for the rest of my time in Jerusalem. Mt. Zion is a beautiful hotel, but they need to take much better care of their guests with respect to parking.
location is great
beds are not king size, rooms are not quiet, some rooms have shared entrance, view is not always the best
Good well informed and friendly staff. Very nice breakfasts.View from our room over the valley outstanding
An excellent position away from the croud, close enough to the city, easy to park, and a large pool to cool down in summer. Personal helpful on request;
Oldish hotel, needs some bathroom refurbishment.
Wonderful location a short walk from the old town, friendly staff, comfortable room and lovely pool to relax in after a hot day in Jerusalem.
Queen bed although was comfortable was just 2 singles pushed together.
The hotel has magnificent views of the city. The pool area is lush with flowers and has good food service.
For the money, it is differently not worth it . Our room was very tired and tiny and dark, when we asked to change rooms I was told they did not have any others. I asked to talk to the manager and still no other rooms available. I went downstairs and asked to speak to the manager and with a great deal of attitude, I got a larger room, but the room still had cleanliness issues and I got a lot of attitude for expecting more for $450/night, The daily cleaning left soap scum, not enough towels, no turn down service and generally a hotel that is not customer sensitive or friendly. Their is a sercurity guard at front of hotel when you arrive but no one to call you a cab. Front desk service not customer friendly. I can see at one time this was a beautiful boutique hotel but I would stay at the King David or a better hotel where they really care about the customer and typical services like having a washcloth in your room and having a light bulb fixed actually are taken care of. Don't spend the money on this hotel!
Very poor service according to price Personnel is not helpful Bad job room maid Very poor service or sometimes nobody at bar swimming pool Etc etc etc
