The staff at the front desk, particularly an exceptional woman named Nirvana, were among the most helpful and hospitable people I've ever encountered.
We cannot complain... Staff/location/service excellent. The breakfast was outstanding.. Would certainly stay there again with no hesitation.... Excellent value.. But what makes it it.. The decor and politeness of the staff
Staff were really wonderful Room very nice Even got fruit and water which we were not expecting. Free parking was great to have.
Location , although very close to old city .
Staff was helpful and very polite. Rooms were great and comfy.
Nirvana is very helpful and kind. It was perfect my staying there. The location is great! close to Damascus Gate, Old City.
the hotel is nice, rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and staff very kind and helpfull. It is placed in East gerusalem, the arab colourful part of the city, just 10 min walk from Erode's gate. Breakfast is quite tasty with good choice. Free fruit and water in the room has been a very nice surprice.Special thanks to Nirvana at front desk.
Everything was perfect!
Excellent front desk. Nirvana was incredible and so helpful. The most helpful receptionist you will ever come across. The wifi in the room we stayed was working very well. Convenient location close to Damascus Gate and Old Jerusalem
Not many choices for dinner around the hotel. We were unlucky due to the situation in Gaza and one night we had riots with police charging right at the door of the hotel. The next morning everything was back to normal.
Incredibly friendly staff who always went out of their way to help. Very good value for money - beautiful cool room. Loved the 24hour gym! Breakfast was delicious and eaten on 4th floor balcony with views. Really reccomend this hotel!
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. A really good location so don't let anyone tell you that East Jerusalem is not the part of the city to stay in! I had a wonderful time!
We would highly recommend the National Hotel. The staff particularly are outstanding: they go out of their way to be helpful. They are thoughtful & generous with their time. They are eager to answer questions & are full of suggestions. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the old city--no more than 7 minutes walk. We would made to feel very welcome & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities are well presented. This is an outstanding hotel given its affordable tariffs.
Great pleasant stuff!!! 5 minutes walking to Old city Free guarded parking Good AC, quiet
Location is in dirty district
I liked the friendliness of the staff. I liked the location. Very close to everything.
Everything was good to me
We liked everything about this hotel. From the welcome we received at the front door from Nirvana to the smile we received as we left. The rooms were spotless, the service was 1st class, the meals were, too much and delicious. Nirvana's motto. "its not the beginning that counts, its the ending that matters. Any problems you may have while you are here will be solved for you while you are here. loved our stay here. Thanks to all the staff, a 1st class show you have here.
The dinner servings were so large we couldn't take advantage of them. No complaints here at all for this Hotel. But we did have trouble with getting money from the ATM machines.
Very nice hotel close to the Herods gate: about 10min walking. Very nice breakfast. Nirwana, behind the desk downstairs, is amazing! Very helpful staff. Love the place.
Very nice rooms, Wi-Fi good enough for viewing online video, Really close to Old City Very good breakfast! Excellent reception woman, nice and helpful Dinner was also good and not so expensive (compare to other places) Close to Jewish block, where you can walk and buy some normal stuff (which is impossible in Arabic block) Overall score: I would recommend this place to other travelers, just take into account minuses (which are subjective in our case)
Yep, it's close to Old City. BUT: hotel is in Arabic block of the city. Which means: if you dressed in European style (even with long sleeves and skirt), everybody will stare at you like you are alien or just got back from the future (what you really are...). Extremely noisy outside environment: we've got many petards shots each night and many smart guys drifting their cars by the small road next to the hotel. Guys from the hotel's stuff have sent us to a wrong place when we asked them how we can get to Tel-Aviv on Saturday. We spent like extra hour trying to find a taxi spot which was found in 2km from initial place where they sent us to...
The nearness to the Old City, Rockfeller Museum, some shops. Near enough to the tram, but a walk. Thanks for the heater as I found my rom cold during July evenings. Heat is not turn on until winter months. The breakfast is pretty good as I was here 2 days short of a month.
The staff needs to have better english skills. The room was clean enough but could have used better cleaning of the bathroom. The patio door had collected dust on the lower part of the door and that should be checked every day. The balcony needs to be washed every several days also. The sidewalk in front of the hotel needs to be spray washed this would help dirt and dust from being tracked into the hotel. It is a dusty neighbourhood. Maybe the adjacent shops could do washing of the sidewalk and street also.
Great location within walking distance to old city.
Conveniently located close to Herod's Gate, with lots of shops in the area and a five-minute walk to a tram stop where you can take the tram to go to the new centre of Jerusalem. Staff very friendly and helpful, rich breakfast, good coffee.
Very good location - 5-10 minutes walk from Herod Gate (the Old City) and in a safe part of East Jerusalem (nowhere near where there have been protests, etc.) The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. (Great food in the restaurant too!)
The only downside was that we'd booked a double room but were told that we had to stay in a twin room as they'd run out of doubles. Still, the beds pushed together quite easily and this wasn't too much of a problem.
The lady on reception was so friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to help. They also sent out a taxi to collect us after we were stranded by the riots on Thursday
We felt the reservations manager could've been more understanding and honest regarding the current unrest in the neighbourhood. The cleaning staff woke us each morning to ask if we wanted the room cleaning instead of just waiting until we had gone out. Many cleaning tasks were also missed which let the rest of the staff down.
- Hotel situated in a muslim neighbourhood but quiet :) ... - 5 min to the Damascus Gate and also Mount of Olives is very near. So if you plan to visit such places location is excellent - staff very polite and helpful - fridge in the room ;) - when we arrived cold water and fruits were waiting for us in the room - very good breakfast - parking - we stayed in normal but quite a spacious room, clean :)
Location is ideal for accessing the old city via Herod & Damascus Gate. Excellent Breakfast on a great veranda which partly overlooks the Mt of Olives. Staff very helpful - just ask. Fridge and kettle in room. Did not use Wi-Fi but great internet access available in apublic area and reception staff will print flight tickets etc on request.
Room, particularly bathroom could do with a deep clean - ok but could 'sparkle'.
Staff was great, helpful and nice and it realy made our stay here superb.
I am a traveller, and The National is one of the best hotels I have stayed on. Everything about is is just in top league. I have stayed at Hiltons and all the Marriotts, but this is something completely different. This hotel and its staff has HEART. I warmly recommend this hotel to everybody looking for great value for money and the best staff-expeirience around. Thanks.
My three-week business stay in this remarkable hotel will remain as one of the most memorable ones for me. The staff was fantastic and did all they could to insure comfort, convenience and safety. Thanks to the entire staff for this wonderful experience.
