Lovely architecture and landscaping of the resort mini-villas. Great location to top beaches/water sports in Eilat. Wonderful Israeli buffet breakfast included in the room rate! Checkout was at 11am. I had to make a 'special request' for 12 noon checkout. It was granted but, c'mon....for the price we paid, it should have been a given!

The general layout with its comfortable villas set in attractive grounds built into the hillside and a good sized pool and sundeck. The location away from Eilat centre but closer to good snorkeling beaches. Confusion over not being able to trace our booking.

Hotel located in the quieter and nicer part of Eilat. Great views, staff is very friendly and professional. Excellent facilities for families with young children. Diner buffet could be better. Some good restaurants are closeby (approx. 1 km). Try 'The Last Refuge' if you like fish.

The location is beautiful, overlooking the Red Sea, Jordan, and the surrounding mountains. The villa style of the room is a very unique, beautiful and comfortable alternative to the traditional hotel experience. It is far from the city, with few effective transportation options outside of a cab and very infequent shuttle. Some of the facilities are also lacking considering the distance from the city center.

I love the location , it is away from the hub of Eilat, this may not be for everyone but I love how the hotel is built into the rocks and has a clear view of the red sea. We were there in low season and they upgraded our room to a villa. It was amazing. Staff were helpful and it's just a special place especially if you enjoy more of a nature place We were offered a box breakfast since we had to leave really early for a trip to Petra. I have to say the box breakfast was terrible. I would recommend that you have a quick something in the hotel( which has an amazing breakfast)

We liked the biuttiful architecture of the hotel reminds Thai village. The rooms are nice and the air conditioner is really good especially when outside 35-45 degrees celcius. Gorgeous view. In my opnion the staff had lack of courtesy, I asked to prepar the room for proposal needless to say that the room wasn't ready, moreover after continuous requests for special preparation I've got fruit plate. Very disappointing !!!

We stayed in the newly opened royal villas. It was beautiful! Our own private infinity pool overlooking a breathtaking view of the Red Sea! We had our own "butler" to bring up what we needed, and he did a fabulous job cleaning our room every day! What a wonderful four nights of total relaxation!

they have nice service named "tuk-tuk" to pick you up to your rooms with small auto on hotel's territory. there are two beaches which belongs to hotel. but you can swimm in only one and you can do it very carefully because this beach is located near coral reef and it is reserved for swimming with mask.

Price and location. Each time called front desk felt like we were imposing. Shower filled bathroom with water each time we showered. Could hear foot steps from room above us. Never asked when we checked out, "How was your stay?"

On the positive side, this hotel is located south of Eilat, three kilometers north of the Egyptian border, far away from the Pharaonic monstrosities, scruffy shopping centers, and airport downtown. It is built into the sheer rock and you may just glimpse the sea from the terrace of rooms on the uppermost tier. There are bouganvilleas and palm trees. Birds hop around the branches when they are not ransacking used room service trays considerately left by customers outside their cabins and neglected for hours by hotel staff. This hotel's low rating reflects its surly, brusque and often ill- trained Israeli staff (the only smiles during our stay came from migrant workers confined to menial tasks), unbearable ambient noise, poor food, and dilapidated, chipped bedroom fittings. Upon arrival the grim young receptionist provided no information about hotel facilities. Responses to questions during our stay were monosyllabic and unhelpful. The bar staff hasn't a clue about wine or alcohol. We had to show the wine waiter how to open a bottle, first removing the foil, levering the cork screw against the neck of the bottle and finally removing the cork. A request for a mojito produced incomprehension and half an hour later a watery lemonade-like concoction. There is not an instant of tranquility with rival loudspeakers booming out over diners and the swimming pool at all times, the electric caddy cars constantly clattering up and down in front of the rooms, neighbors' domestic lives penetrating thin walls, and of course childrens' cries on all sides. (Our neighbor had the decency to spare his family by stepping onto his balcony to smoke and to bellow into his mobile phone - we, of course, paid the price). In the evenings poolside entertainment shatters the peace of the whole establishment and there are no tranquil corners to pass a quiet moment. High decibel resistant earplugs are indispensable to sleep at night and to survive during the day. The food is mediocre and institutional, without a trace of the much-touted Thai influence. All meals are buffet style and there is a scuffle to get near the food at busy times. Let us not even mention the minute "Spa" where Thai massage is indeed on offer, if you can relax against the background of the blaring TV in the tiny directly adjoining gym. Overall, the oriental theme is apparent only in the occasional wooden carving and in the well worn basic structures which are overlaid with bland international hotel fittings.

The Orchid Hotel was our vacation destination two months into a trip through North Africa and the Middle East. Close to both the Jordanian and Egyptian borders, we were attracted by the location for tourism, and the hotel's excellent vantage overlooking a sandy beach on the Red Sea. The hotel complex consists of about 100 Thai-style chalet type rooms with balconies and lofts, dispersed terrace style vertically and horizontally across a steep, nicely landscaped hillside. Our room was lovely -- clean, the bed covering was fresh and colourful, lighting superb, and our balcony looked out to a wonderful and romantic vista over the sea. We were located within walking distance of the pool and pool-side restaurant, where we enjoyed leisurely afternoon drinks and a satisfying Israeli breakfast each day. I would recommend this hotel for those traveling on a budget: great value (unparalleled in Eilat), and comfy environment. Excellent conscientious staff, especially the young woman who cleaned our room to perfection each day. I was aware from other travelers' reports that the balconies adjoin each other, so if you have the misfortune of a partying crew next store, you may as well join in. To its credit, the patio door, when closed and covered by the two tiers of curtains, keeps out noise nicely. I also followed the advice of other travelers and requested (and received) a renovated room. Everything else fine!
