they have nice service named "tuk-tuk" to pick you up to your rooms with small auto on hotel's territory.

there are two beaches which belongs to hotel. but you can swimm in only one and you can do it very carefully because this beach is located near coral reef and it is reserved for swimming with mask.

Location - right accross the underwater observatory, breakfast & dinner, pool, view, security

Staff not speaking English (a lot of them!), A/C in the room - very noisy and badly positioned with no option to adjust, tarnished furniture, bathroom

The Orchid Hotel was our vacation destination two months into a trip through North Africa and the Middle East. Close to both the Jordanian and Egyptian borders, we were attracted by the location for tourism, and the hotel's excellent vantage overlooking a sandy beach on the Red Sea. The hotel complex consists of about 100 Thai-style chalet type rooms with balconies and lofts, dispersed terrace style vertically and horizontally across a steep, nicely landscaped hillside. Our room was lovely -- clean, the bed covering was fresh and colourful, lighting superb, and our balcony looked out to a wonderful and romantic vista over the sea. We were located within walking distance of the pool and pool-side restaurant, where we enjoyed leisurely afternoon drinks and a satisfying Israeli breakfast each day. I would recommend this hotel for those traveling on a budget: great value (unparalleled in Eilat), and comfy environment. Excellent conscientious staff, especially the young woman who cleaned our room to perfection each day.

I was aware from other travelers' reports that the balconies adjoin each other, so if you have the misfortune of a partying crew next store, you may as well join in. To its credit, the patio door, when closed and covered by the two tiers of curtains, keeps out noise nicely. I also followed the advice of other travelers and requested (and received) a renovated room. Everything else fine!

Great service, great food. They really did a great job making this place a tropical paradise and making you believe your in Asia.

The mattrasses were a somewhat worn out so our first night was not good. However, we got an upgraded room with the best view possible over the resort and even a better bed/matrass.

The location is the best, not in the middle of the crowded Eilat but not too far if you want to go visit (5 minutes by taxi). The hotel was excellent, beautiful decoration and wonderful views. I really liked the number of facilities that they offer free of charge, like the use of snorkel sets or bicycles. Breakfast was great.

Dinner was ok but not excellent.

The Staff makes you feel as welcome as you would at a family reunion. Someone was always nearby to accomodate any need we had. Built on the hillside with beautiful Sunrise views from all the rooms. 7 minute drive from the rest of the resorts and Airport, so we enjoyed Peace & Quiet for our Breakfasts at Poolside, but were moments from the "bustle" of Eilat. Our upgrade after the 1st night to the Villa was definitely worth it, and still less expensive than the glitxy beehive's downtown. If we go back, we'll definitely stay here again.

Location is excellent. SIAm rooms are the best.

It is a pity that such a good hotel is undermined by the service. The sink was blocked on arrival and it took more than 24 hours and 3 calls to fix it. Towels were taken and not returned. Balcony door didn't lock and wasn't fixed at all during our stay. Girls at the bar have ignored us for 20 minutes despite an empty bar (one bartender came to us after several calls said that she will take our order in a minute, then went to wipe the tables and after that left the building). The only ones who were always helpful are the tuk-tuk drivers :) Guys, you have to look into your personell as it spoils otherwise good experience.

The charming design of the hotel, its location on the hillside opposite the Red Sea, its proximity to Dolphin Reef Beach, etc. and its distance from the commercial center of Eilat.

We had an incredible at the Orchid Hotel and Resort. I have read many mixed reviews and I think it totally depends on whcih room you get. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to suite 16 and suite 14. Maybe you can get a good deal on them on the last minute websites...its well worth it. With this suite we had a top view of the mountains and the red sea, a deluxe room with an outdoor jacousi....for my tastes the suite was faultless...comfie bed...great bathroom. Breakfast was excellent but dinner not good...I Would only eat breakfast there and eat out elsewhere (had a greet meal at the giraffe noodle bar-deserts amazing) feel free to write me questions if you like to evmaya2@gmail.com below it said I booked the deluxe seaview shangrila room but I think I was upgraded in a suite

Didnt like the front desk reception...limited english speaking staff didnt like the dinner buffet much but Im a vey fussy gourmet eaqter-my inlaws loved it thats about it I think

Very nice location in front of the red sea. Good breakfast buffet. Easy connections to and from Eilat

Quite old rooms and a lot of problems with the wifi although it should have been freely available everywhere. The so called "deluxe" rooms are not much better than the "normal" rooms.
