In Jerusalem's shopping district, near Mache Yehudah market and Ben Yehuda Street, Palatin Hotel Jerusalem offers air conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and free coffee and tea. The Palatin has been owned and run by the same family for the last 70 years. Its rooms are simply furnished but have all the essentials such as a TV with cable channels and a private bathroom with hairdryer. Some overlook the surrounding pedestrian area. An Israeli-style buffet breakfast is served each morning. The city’s lively Ben Yehuda Street and its numerous shops, cafés, restaurants and bars is just one block from the hotel. The Jaffa Gate and the Old City are a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The tram stops around the corner and provides connection with many of the Jerusalem’s top sights such as the Wailing Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Oriental Bazaar. Hotel Rooms: 23 Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 17:24 from Canada.

Service people were very accommodating. Location is excellent. Rooms are small but very clean. Has plenty of electric outlets for charging electronics. Air-conditioning and cable availability is excellent. Free WiFi with good connectivity. New light rail system is less then a block a way. Even though it is in the very center of town, it is on a quiet back street therefore, no street noise. You do not need a car from that location. Breakfast is simple, but adaquate. Would use them again (and have done so). Bathroom is clean. Good shower and toilet facilities. For budget traveling, would recommend it very highly. Great resturaunts and fast food are literally minutes away. Again, location is amazing. Would not consider this to be a real complaint, but there is no lobby and that you have to carry your bags 2 flights of stairs to get to your room. But if you are able, this should not be a problem.

Stas and the other boy on the reception desk are very polite and helpful! They answered all our questions and helped us very much! Thank you! lThe location of the hotel is very good-close to central bus station and the Old city! The rooms on the 3-th floor need from a renovation, especially the bathroom, which is not comfortable for use! In the hotel there isn`t a lift and for these people with a heavy suitcases is very hard to reach the room1

Very good welcome coming in on Shabatt in the middle of the night. The owner helped with the suitcases and was at his desk when we arrived. Friendly guy, very helpful. Superior room nice with atmosphere, but not luxurious.

We only stayed one night but the manager was extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good. The walk to the old city was 15 mins. The main shopping and food restaurants were very close by. Overall we wished we had stayed longer. It was two flights of steps to carry our bags to our room. The rooms were quite small.

A great hotel in a great location. Walking distance to the Old City but also on the new tram route and in a lively area with lots of shops and eating places and near the market. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast very good and tea/coffee available all day in the breakfast room. Slight issue for some people might be that it's up a flight of stairs or two if you're on the second floor and there's no lift. Didn't bother us though and a small price to pay for such a nice place.

The location was great. It was clean and the bathroom had been remodeled. There was a satisfactory breakfast room on the main level and the food was adequate. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. It is a great location for buses and metro train. The shower is a convertible type and the drainage was not the best. The woman gave us poor directions to get to the northern part of Israel and ended up taking us way more time.

Nice peeps, good location, tiny room and bed. The shower was so small you could not bend over When inside. Also, to use the toilet you had to push in the shower doors and sit a little sideways. I don't think this place was worth more than $60 at most. Wireless Internet worked okay but not with Skype!

Excellent location - near the main street with tram (only one line #1), shops, excellent fruit&vegetable bazar, 10min walk to the old city. Easy to get to the hotel from the Central Bus Station (by tram 1), and easy to get from the hotel to other parts of the city (by tram 1 or by buses). Nice friendly staff, good breakfast (variaty of cheese, eggs, flakes, youghurts, bread, juices, tea-coffee). At the first day Wi-Fi didn't work on laptop (though it worked on smartphone), but then it was ok, quite fast and stable. If you need a nice hotel for moderate money, it's for you! We lived on 3rd floor, so had to take up our luggage, but it's only two times (arriving and leaving). I don't think it's crucial.

The location. Room was not bad but bathrooms are awful. They shouldn.t let them operate with these kind of bathrooms. The worst bathrooms I have seen in my life. So old and run, down. For the high price they ask for the room I was expecting something better. I liked the location and the cleaning crew. People fr the reception desk were somehow helpful even though I felt taking advantage of with airport transportation. They did not go beyond their ways to help ya.

Reception desk always available to help you. Excelent price, excelent localization..15 Minutes from old city or 15 minutes from other parts of "new city" Not sure if it is a problem of the hotel or from booking.com, but I was charged twice. Once when reserving in the site and when arrived in the hotel. I am in contact with my credit card to solve this.

Excellent location. Very neat and clean room. Bed super comfy although a bit short. Good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful in general and spoke English no problem. Room towards the street = noisy at night on the weekend. Winter visit and no heating in bathroom = cold shock every morning.

The staff of the hotel. We felt they were our family. Very warm and attentive, always giving us great suggestions for sight seings or restaurants, transportations or tours. Thank you Rosa and others you made our trip very memorable. Enjoyed fresh breakfast very much too. The premises are old and simple, comfortable bed, new TVs. Good fresh breakfast. Carpet can use updatings and wals fresh coat of paint. Hair dryer did not work, Otherwise we enjoyed the stay, Caution, no elevators, not for mobility challenged travelers.

clean, simple rooms; amazing location to everything--easy walk to old city, pedestrian district next door, market and central bus station in walking distance. Staff were helpful, printed out my boarding pass, reserved my airport shuttle, found me an adapter when I thought I had forgot one. Beds were firm and not busted out like at many places. The rooms can be noisy given the central location. I had a room just over the street and there can be late night loud conversations and bustle that can wake and keep you up. The owners offered to put me in a quieter room when I arrived and I never took them up on it, so that's my problem. There is no elevator so if you have a lot of bags you need to stay on a lower floor. The breakfast is pretty modest--there's enough to eat, but as for bread they give only sliced white. There's more interesting bread to buy in the city and that would make a huge difference. But there's coffee on all day.

The Room was very clean and looked pretty nice. Staff was helpful and available at all times. The breakfast was basic but good enough for us. Location was good, fairly close to the old city and to the central bus station. The room was quite small and had no kettle for making coffee. All in all the hotel was basic but nice, if you're looking for bed, breakfast and good location I would recommend staying there.

It is locted in a very convenient area of the city. Easy to access all tourist spots and good for shopping, seeing the old city and getting a feel for the special Jerusalem atmosphere. The breakfast was too simple and could be improved. The room was small but up to expectations. It is not a big luxury hotel but very convenient and you don't need a car. Parking was a big problem, and I couldn't find cheap parking close to the hotel.

“This is a very nice place to stay for a trip to Jerusalem. We stayed in this hotel on May 9-13, 2012. It was a beautiful old hotel full of atmosphere. We had a corner room on the 5th floor. We paid $160 [Canadian]. The bed was large and comfortable [ the pull out couch does needs replacing]. The room had air-con which we didn't use as I preferred opening the nice windows to let in natural air. Although there was a chipped bathtub and not a perfectly hung curtain, the place was immaculate. Housekeeping was wonderful and it showed, shiny large common areas, stairwells, elevator and in rooms. We were greeted by a friendly front desk staff and checked in quickly. This hotel offers a large hot breakfast every morning included in price. Free indoor pool and a wonderful located patio in front. Highly recommended.” Ruth, Kensington |
