Golan Heights

The green Golan Heights are located at the border between Israel and Syria. Beef and dairy cattle have been raised on this fertile plateau since biblical times.The area is rich in lakes, hot springs and agricultural land. Beautiful panoramas include the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, and Mount Hermon with ski slopes at an altitude of 2,743 metres. Katzrin is the site of one of Israel's most important wineries. It also features the Golan Archaeological Museum and the remains of a Talmudic village. The 130-km long Golan Trail, which winds its way across streams, nature parks and ancient ruins, is a popular choice with hikers of all levels.Golan Heights has plenty of nature parks, including Tel Dan, Banias, and Yehudiya. Gamla Nature Reserve stands out for its archaeological sites and colony of Griffon vultures. It also features Israel's highest waterfall.
Sea of Galilee

Home to one of the lowest lying lakes in the world, the Sea of Galilee region combines religious and historic sites with the green, fertile fields of the Jordan Valley. This unique setting includes year-round hiking trails, a variety of hot springs and agricultural tourism. Thousands of pilgrims are baptised every year at the Yardenit, where the Sea of Galilee flows into the Jordan River. A visit to the impressive Church & Monastery of the Apostles on the lakeshore is a must. On the Sea of Galilee's western shore lies Tiberias, one of Israel's 4 holy cities as well as the most active tourist spot on the lake. With its therapeutic Tiberias Hot Springs and many ancient tombs, this popular city offers plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. Bike rental is quite popular here, and a wide choice of water sports are found along Alon Promenade.

Utrolig flot udsigt over søen og en kæmpe morgen mad som vi indtog på en vidunderlig terrasse. Der var en del larm fra andre gæster der fested på deres terrasse helt til klokken var 02.00 hvor jeg blev nødt til at sige til dem at de skulle nu holde. Mauro Solo traveler Rorschach, Switzerland April 8, 2011	Wireless Lan ist inklusive (aber nur im Bereich der Lobby). Das Buffet am Morgen wie am Abend ist absolute Spitzenklasse ! Personal ist durchwegs freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Hotel wird hauptsächlich von Israelis besonders am Shabbat aufgesucht (daher ist der Freitag-Abend jeweils etwas turbulent). Wer die israelische Gastfreundschaft liebt kommt wieder. es laufen ständig Leute & Kinder vor der Terrasse herum über den Garten. Wer etwas Ruhe sucht ist hier nicht richtig.
