2-person cabin more comfortable than many hotels, beautiful scenery, great staff and facilities, and very friendly kittens
great atmosphere, wonderul israeli music,
relatively pricy, noisy neighbours (not the fault of the host), lots of flies
It's a great place which definitely has it's special ambiance. I met nice peoples there and really enjoyed my time at this place.
Mosquitoes. Better take all kinds of repellents with you.
Ambiance and location. Chill & relax after day of hiking around the dead sea. BBQ andere campfire opportunities
Too much cats
Very nice people. Great place if you like a bit of backpacker's flair
Very nice environment for young travelers. Staff is wonderful and helpful. BBQs available for use by guests. The mosquito repellent available on site is a lifesaver!
A bit of a drive from the Dead Sea
- very lovely host Ron, who would even help us to make a BBQ fire
- the cats that are even on the table in the kitchen
Amazing cabins/enclosure/romatnic central campfire/tent-bar. Right in the desert, with a swim pool available next door. Camaraderie over shared kitchen, like youth-hostelling, made lots of friends. A unique experience.
This is luxurious camping, NOT a hotel. Be warned. We loved it.
It was the cheapest option near the Dead Sea. Unfortunately we arrived there on the day of the flood. The staff was very helpful when we were looking for the information about the road conditions after the flood. Shkedi's Camplodge provides a basic accomodation in a safari-style lodges. It is a great place for young people who like to spend the evening along the fire with a guitar.
Lovely atmosphere and great attention to detail. Loved the campfire and the friendly people around. A great place to stay.
If you need a private bathroom then this place isn't for you, but otherwise it's perfect.
It was by far the cleanest place we stayed at (and we stayed at hotels and apartments previously).
My kids loved the atmosphere and the bonfire at night, I loved the proximity to the dead sea, we loved Gil and his . .amazing family
Great place! Great people! Great value! Relaxed atmosphere! (feels a bit like India)
You need a car to get anywhere (not really a minus, just an observation...)
Alternative feeling and relaxed atmosphere in the dessert, Air conditioning, Best reachable by car.
There was a great vibe at this place and the guys in charge were super friendly and had great recommendations for local activities.
Very nice hostel just like camp. The cabins are comfortable, clean and with A/C. Bathrooms and toilets are clean. There is also very good equipped kitchen, fridge and place to eat. Nice atmosphere. Good chillout.
You should keep in mind, that in this area is only one shop (mainly with Thai food), so you should be prepared ealier and bring some food with you.
The shower facilities, the cleanliness of the toilets and showers, the funky atmosphere with cool background music, the friendliness of staff and other guests, great cooking facilities, the delivered meals from nearby Dana's Kitchen (the stuffed peppers are especially recommended), the communal nightly bonfire, and the well-priced cold beer.
So far, the best booking of my life! What a wonderful place and what an awesome staff! A++++
Absolutely nothing to complain about...
Cozy atmosphere, great staff
The personal was great: the wellbeing of their guests is toppriority. The atmosphere is relaxed. The kitchen and showers and toilets were kept clean at al time.
Because it is a camplodge and a lot is outside the rain ( it nearly never rains!) made it less comfortable.
A great place to stay, offering a unique experience with a very friendly staff. Every night they also make a big fire in the middle of the grounds, which offers you an opportunity to sit around it and meet other travelers and get ideas for further travels. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the shower facilities excellent (even though they are shared). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the vicinity of the Dead Sea.
The owner Gil was very helpful, and drove me to the bus stop (free of charge). The camplodge we stayed in was new (all built over the summer), all wood with a wooden floor and a roof with a skylight. The kitichen is well equipped and there is hot water 24/7. The showers were strong and had hot water and the bathroom area was very clean. The staff were wonderful - it was great speaking to Ron over a couple beers by the fire. Shkedi is more than just a bed to stay - it's the ultimate chill out experience. If you have a car - you can use this as a base for visiting the dead sea attractions. Only tip is if you want to barbecue meat - best stock up in a bigger town before you arrive.
