National Hotel is in one of Jerusalem's busiest shopping districts, a 5 minute drive from Herod's Gate, an entrance into Jerusalem's Old City. Parking and Wi-Fi are both free.

Location, the Staff, the Pool
hotel can maybe invest in new towels, remove mould from bathroom, remove stain from carpet, install lamp at the working desk, provide water glasses
The staff was excellent, especially the shift manager Eyad in the breakfast room.
My adult daughter and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at The St George. The Staff were very accommodating, particularly Liani in Reception who always wore a smile and was most helpful. We would stay here again.
A very good hotel where we were made very welcome and the staff were always helpful. They speak very good English. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Location is excellent being near Damascus gate and the old city. The room was very good with an excellent shower. It is a shame for the hotel there have been many cancellations because of the troubles. We had thought about it but are very glad we didn’t. The situation will keep changing of course but we had a very interesting and enjoyable time. We saw everything we wanted to see in Jerusalem and the surrounding area, Dead Sea, Jericho and Bethlehem etc. At no time did we experience any problem. On advice we didn’t go far in the evening as there can be some angry demonstrations. Just once there was one near to us but we returned safely to the hotel and did not feel threatened. As others say, there are parts of the hotel where there can be noise from the outside, but it was not enough to bother us. You can always ask for a quiet room. Thank to the hotel for a very good 2 weeks.
Breakfast is not very interesting and it can be easily solved by adding few extra dishes on display. When a customer ask to have their breakfast on the balcony, the staff should make it possible and not say everyday that they're cleaning the place!
Very good Hotel with excellent facilities near the old centre of Jersualem.
The location of the Hotel is fair but in the eastern part of Jerusalem.
The reception staff was friendly and helpful.
I found the location in East Jerusalem a dirty, run down area. The taxi driver could not find it and had to drive round the city asking people if they knew where it was. It wasn't far from the old city but you had to walk through a very run down part of the city together there. Dirty streets with cockroaches, rubbish strewn across the pavements, cars parked haphazardly. In contrast, other parts of Jerusalem were very clean and well-kept. The hotel was a basic tourist standard. Three star maximum. The hotel was in a fairly modern, cheaply built building on a very busy road. We stayed in a suite which was a large room but with very basic furniture that did not feel very clean. Breakfast was extremely basic and the eating area was not well-maintained and did not feel particularly clean. Very limited choice of poor quality food and drink. The staff here was not friendly or welcoming. An unenjoyable experience. I would not return to this hotel or recommend it.
Large room, very comfortable and convenient. Roof top dining was outstanding...view incredible.
Local area around the hotel was a little rough....not a problem within the hotel. Hard to move around the area if you drive...a little hard to find.
serounding outside the hotel not clean enough.
Everything was very nice, a huge selection for breakfast, the staff was very efficient, friendly and dealt with all my issues wonderfully. Our room was very good, with balcony and the hugest double bed I have seen in my life. And the highlight point was that the location is walking distance to Herod's Gate and Damascus Gate, both gates are close to each other. From Damascus Gate you can go everywhere in the Old City very easily. We were definitely in the right hotel. No need for tram or bus.
I cannot really find anything that I didn't like. I liked everything!
Location. Helpfullness of staff. Pool.
Busyish road to front of hotel.
Lovely staff, great view from deck, excellent breakfast, great location.
Carpets in the room stained and low quality.
Discusting hotel this hotel is difinetly not 5 star hotel and for sure not a value deal booking should change all the pictures of this hotel and should show it as it is
The very helpful and friendly staff at reception
The terrible house keeping....rooms not made up properly.....towels with holes in it...not acceptable I'm afraid.
The worse hotel I have ever stayed in my entire life. Dirty as hell, poor service, bad location. Better to stay at ymca.
Beautiful hotel Excellent breakfast with gorgeous view
Not convenient Located in East Jerusalem Cab drivers overcharge like crazy when they see you are foreign. Difficult walk to the old city On a street with little to walk to
We felt well and can recommend the hotel.
Just a little thing: There was no dinner next to the pool as it was shown on the pictures.
Good location for East jerusalem
Roof top pool was too cold to use. Hotel was expensive.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast and excellent views over the old city. Clean rooms.
Traffic noise started early in the morning - ask for a room on the back of the building. No wash cloths. The cleaning staff tried to disturb us before 9am each morning to clean the room.
Location near old city Nice and comfortable room and hotel decor
The toilet bowl flush was leaking water into the toilet bowl, and the shower screen also leaks water to the floor. Do not provide tooth brush and toothpaste
Good location close to the old city
The staff was friendly but they never seemed to do any of the things we asked. We had to ask again and again for things before anything happened
Lovely bed and the pool and pool area was fantastic with a really beautiful view.
The bathroom wasn't very clean. The room was pretty basic and so dark.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, excellent location for exploring the Old City. Facilities were good- I didn't use the pool but it looked very nice.
The shower wasn't great.
Mariana in the restaurant is excellent. I observed her on an evening when they were at capacity and she graciously accommodated me in the lounge and another night when she managed all the tables on her own. She was extremely pleasant and efficient and is an asset to the hotel.
Extralarge rooms and good position (5-10 minutes walk from Damascus gate)
The hotel seems and hotel with a great past but kind of abbandoned at the moment. The room gives not an idea of deeply cleaned, although I cannot say it has not been cleaned
