Mamilla Hotel features a panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking Jerusalem's historic quarter. This stylish 5-star hotel was designed by architect Piero Lissoni and is a 10 minute walk from Jaffa Gate.
Score from 400 reviews Excellent
In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is a 10-minute walk from the Old City.
Score from 1254 reviews Good
The Mount Zion Hotel is a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Jerusalem. It offers an outdoor pool and a traditional Turkish bath. The air-conditioned rooms feature an Oriental style.

Located along the Ben Yehudah pedestrian promenade, Arthur Hotel is a colonial-style building in the center of Jerusalem. The elegant rooms include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and cable TV.

The American Colony is a haven of tranquility, the staff are incredibly welcoming, the food first class and the hotel is very comfortable.
having to leave....
Great style, elegance, food, and no packaged tours!
Only drawback is the adjacent location of a mosque, with a 5 am prayer call most mornings. Our room was right next to the mosque, but maybe other rooms are not so exposed to the morning prayer.
Athmosphere,staff,Bar The bed is awsome!!!
I travel around the world and stay in dozens of great hotels every year but this is one of the best places I've ever stayed. That facilities and rooms are great but the location and staff make this one of a kind.
The American Colony has a friendly and professional staff and the location is ideal for exploring Jerusalem's Old City and surrounding East Jerusalem neighborhoods. The hotel's outdoor gardens and interior decoration and details are unique, highlighting the historic charm of the property. Breakfast is a lovely assortment of Eastern and Western food, and definitely stop in the Cellar Bar during your stay. It was a lovely, romantic, and truly special place for us to stay during my fiancé's first visit to Israel/Palestine.
In general, the room was spotless, however I rated the cleanliness "good" not "excellent" because the bathroom floor looked like it could've been swept a bit more thoroughly. As for price, we stayed during peak season, so the nightly rate was a bit excessive for a young couple (one of whom is a graduate student and the other a musician), however if you are looking for something special and inspiring, I would say that it is worth the expense.

Very expensive Mosque at 5:30am
In discription of the hotel there is nothing mentioned about winter season, when pool is not open and garden is not available for breakfast! Considering that I had the cheepest (375Eur ?!?) double room in newest house, as I saw later, with no signs of history- just a plain, avarage, small hotel room, that was suposed to be THE design benefit- sorry, it's closed!! It's a nice hotel, if you stay in most expensive rooms in the old building for arround 1000 Eur. Other options are not worth it. At least in winter.
I liked the location close to the Old City, the ancient charm of the buildings, the gardens, the shop, the bar and the room
The shower in my room did not work properly
The beautiful gardens and lovely grounds create a peaceful haven in East Jerusalem, just a short walk from the Old City. An attentive and professional staff works hard to enhance the pleasure of your stay. The breakfast buffet was generous, diversified, and beautifully presented.
An amazing bookstore in the hotel. Nice restaurant. Very stylish design.
The breakfast were kind of big but not good. Staff in the restaurant is far from perfect.
quiet and cosy bedroom The Cellar Bar Efficient staff Lovely gardens
A kettle/ coffee /tea bags in bedroom would be a plus.
Mostly, we enjoyed our breakfast in the garden - love to have the option of having it indoors or outdoors. The room is spacious and bright. And the bedding is comfortable and clean.
All the hooks and shelves in the bathroom are too high for me and within easy reach. The shower is hard to use; especially, the design of its shower head - it is not practical and user-friendly at all. The setting of its dining area is nice; however, the food is not outstanding.
The general design, history and ambience of the hotel makes it a unique space and its history and list of guests makes it extra special. This, combined with the tasteful décor, ewxcellent food and the unfailing courtesy and kindness of the staff made for a very special few days break in this unique city
We spent a couple of days in this really fantastic hotel, the staff was very nice and helpufl, the courtyard is a perfect place to relax after a visit in the bustling old town of Jerusalem. The food of the restaurant was excellent. We will return soon!
A haven of tranquility amidst the hustle of Jerusalem. We stayed 7 nights recommend room 14. Own large balcony. Excellent service from all staff. Food good in both resturants. We would recommend this hotel
Having to leave
Full of atmosphere. Very different from most Jerusalem hotels. Lovely pool.
Breakfast was wonderful and prepared me for the day ahead. The pool and quality of service was perfect after a busy day of exploring the sights of the Old City and museums. Room was spacious and calming - perfect. Easy to walk to the tram or further afield so great location.
I loved the old-style building, the decoration, the ambiance, the gardens and the service of the stuff.
I did not like, entering my room no, 52, immediately facing me the bathroom. Never seen such "an arrangement" in any luxurious or normal hotel before.
The hotel is beautiful and full of history - loved the courtyard all the flowers and plants in the hotel grounds. helpful and friendly service, very welcoming - we arrived early and were offered delicious coffee and pastries/croissants in the lobby. We were offered an upgrade on our room and were patiently allowed to choose which one we would have. Food was excellent.
one day we sat at same table at breakfast and lunch and recognised that the food dropped under the table (and not by us) was still there at lunch time. + ants
From the moment we entered the lobby of the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem we were entranced by the atmosphere of this historic building. It has been a hotel for over a 100 years and manages to seamlessly blend the charm of the old with the facilities expected of a modern deluxe boutique hotel. The welcome at the front desk was an indication of what was in store for us during our stay. We were offered a cool drink with a choice of water, orange juice or champagne before staring the check in procedure and once that had been completed in a matter of minutes, taken to our room. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished with a mixture of antique and modern decor. The bathroom was spotless and well appointed with a stand alone bath and huge walk in shower. After spending time at the swimming pool we returned to our room to enjoy a cold drink from the well stocked mini bar and read on the terrace. One of the main features of the hotel is the lovely central courtyard. It has to be one of the nicest and most relaxing places in Jerusalem to eat and drink. We decided to have dinner there on our first evening and sat beneath the canopy of leaves created by the trees in the courtyard as we dined on some very fine food (my wife's sea bass was particularly praise worthy) and a bottle of Pelter Sauvignon Blanc, a refreshing white wine from a local Israeli winery. Breakfast was also served in the courtyard from a buffet with a wide range of hot and cold dishes, both western and local. We only realized how much we had eaten when we discovered later in the day that we had no appetite for lunch! Finally I should point out what a convenience it was to have the use of free parking and that the hotel's free WiFi policy is a nice change from the gouging that so many other hotels indulge in. We are looking forward to having the opportunity to go back and stay at the American Colony again!

Staff very helpful and friendly only problem was being woken up by mosque four o clock every morning
Gorgeous courtyard for excellent breakfast and lunch. Lovely gardens and really comfy beds. Good book shop and craft shop in hotel grounds. Interesting photos of history of hotel on the walls.
Tables in the evening dining area (which was open air and in beautiful surroundings) too low to eat at comfortably and the lighting is too dim to see your food......romantic but impractical.
we liked the facility and the service
not as clean as one can expect - too expensive
Beautiful hotel, clean, good facilities and just a short walk from the old town. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the Diana the reservations manager, when we needed a room for an extra day and they were fully booked. Would recommend upgrading to one of the three suites overlooking the pool.
When we complained about the noise in one room, we were changed immediately, no questions asked.
