In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is a 10-minute walk from the Old City.
Score from 1356 reviews Good
One of Jerusalem’s most famous hotels, the 5-star King David features luxury décor, panoramic views and an outdoor pool. The spacious gardens overlook the Old City, a 15-minute walk away.

Housed in a historic building in the center of the German colony in Jerusalem, the Arcadia Ba'Moshava-Boutique Hotel provides free-to-use bikes. Free Wi-Fi access is available.
Score from 251 reviews Excellent
Mamilla Hotel features a panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking Jerusalem's historic quarter. This stylish 5-star hotel was designed by architect Piero Lissoni and is a 10 minute walk from Jaffa Gate.
Score from 433 reviews Excellent
Full of atmosphere. Very different from most Jerusalem hotels. Lovely pool.
Breakfast was wonderful and prepared me for the day ahead. The pool and quality of service was perfect after a busy day of exploring the sights of the Old City and museums. Room was spacious and calming - perfect. Easy to walk to the tram or further afield so great location.
I loved the old-style building, the decoration, the ambiance, the gardens and the service of the stuff.
I did not like, entering my room no, 52, immediately facing me the bathroom. Never seen such "an arrangement" in any luxurious or normal hotel before.
The hotel is beautiful and full of history - loved the courtyard all the flowers and plants in the hotel grounds. helpful and friendly service, very welcoming - we arrived early and were offered delicious coffee and pastries/croissants in the lobby. We were offered an upgrade on our room and were patiently allowed to choose which one we would have. Food was excellent.
one day we sat at same table at breakfast and lunch and recognised that the food dropped under the table (and not by us) was still there at lunch time. + ants
From the moment we entered the lobby of the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem we were entranced by the atmosphere of this historic building. It has been a hotel for over a 100 years and manages to seamlessly blend the charm of the old with the facilities expected of a modern deluxe boutique hotel. The welcome at the front desk was an indication of what was in store for us during our stay. We were offered a cool drink with a choice of water, orange juice or champagne before staring the check in procedure and once that had been completed in a matter of minutes, taken to our room. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished with a mixture of antique and modern decor. The bathroom was spotless and well appointed with a stand alone bath and huge walk in shower. After spending time at the swimming pool we returned to our room to enjoy a cold drink from the well stocked mini bar and read on the terrace. One of the main features of the hotel is the lovely central courtyard. It has to be one of the nicest and most relaxing places in Jerusalem to eat and drink. We decided to have dinner there on our first evening and sat beneath the canopy of leaves created by the trees in the courtyard as we dined on some very fine food (my wife's sea bass was particularly praise worthy) and a bottle of Pelter Sauvignon Blanc, a refreshing white wine from a local Israeli winery. Breakfast was also served in the courtyard from a buffet with a wide range of hot and cold dishes, both western and local. We only realized how much we had eaten when we discovered later in the day that we had no appetite for lunch! Finally I should point out what a convenience it was to have the use of free parking and that the hotel's free WiFi policy is a nice change from the gouging that so many other hotels indulge in. We are looking forward to having the opportunity to go back and stay at the American Colony again!
Having to leave.
Staff very helpful and friendly only problem was being woken up by mosque four o clock every morning
Gorgeous courtyard for excellent breakfast and lunch. Lovely gardens and really comfy beds. Good book shop and craft shop in hotel grounds. Interesting photos of history of hotel on the walls.
Tables in the evening dining area (which was open air and in beautiful surroundings) too low to eat at comfortably and the lighting is too dim to see your food......romantic but impractical.
we liked the facility and the service
not as clean as one can expect - too expensive
Beautiful hotel, clean, good facilities and just a short walk from the old town. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the Diana the reservations manager, when we needed a room for an extra day and they were fully booked. Would recommend upgrading to one of the three suites overlooking the pool.
When we complained about the noise in one room, we were changed immediately, no questions asked.
Mediocre directions to tourist sites
ambience, beautiful place
Very romantic and acaptic hotel
Service (Rana was so nice to our baby), history, food
Air conditioning not so good
Very poor breakfast! Disappointing.
One of the best leading hotels of the world and certainly the best in the Near-East (in my view). Outstanding historic palace. Walking distance to old city. Safe location. Unspoilt oriental atmosphere. Recommend "Pacha" suites
great hospitality, thanks and see you again
The American Colony Hotel has a beautiful history and is an idyllic compound with gorgeous gardens and main area facilities. The gentleman who assisted us with our luggage and settling into the hotel was wonderful.
The rest of the staff were not very friendly or well versed in the type of hospitality one would expect when staying in one of The Leading Hotels of the World. Though, I am glad I stayed in the American Colony Hotel, purely for it's historical reputation. We were located on the "Swedish" style floor and our room left much to be desired. The staff at the front desk were pompous and wouldn't even greet us when coming in from dinner or seemed bothered to assist us. It was disappointing to have stayed in such a majestic historic hotel and not have staff that maintained the same standard as the hotel's name. It was obvious the staff did not care if we were guests or not. Showing a but warmth and friendliness goes a long way. Walking the common areas of the hotel while staying elsewhere would have been more satisfying then our unfortunate 2 night stay at the American Colony Hotel. I will never again stay at The American Colony hotel and future bookings will be made for the King David Hotel.
We were given a lovely and comfortable room in the old house, with high painted ceiling and beautiful furniture. The lobby, garden and public areas are all special and beautiful. Breakfast was excelent. We walked to the old city and back, we had a wonderful time.
I totally agree that this is the most beautiful hotel in Israel. An old Turkish palace with charm and elegance. Typical Leading Hotel chain 5 star service and food. Not cheap, but to Jerusalem a good value. Excellent location to old city.
They did not provide the type of room that I had booked.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent and staff were excellent. Lobby was cozy and comfortable and the restaurant had very good food and service.
Couple of things in the room were in disrepair (such as the curtain rod). Hotel was great, but the price was a bit much.
Magnifique hotel Grand cachet Service impeccable
the position of the hotel
the staff in the restaurant was really below the standard of a luxury hotel the garden really not well kept
