YMCA Three Arches Hotel26 King David Street, 91002 Jerusalem (Show map) Good, Score from 337 reviews“Rooms are comfortable, staff are friendly, and location is ideal. And, the breakfasts are wonderful. ”
Donald,
Indio
In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is just minutes from the old city. Most attractions of the city can be explored easily by foot from the hotel. This unique, interesting and historical building was completed in 1933. It has beautiful public areas with arches and lush gardens. The restaurant serves non-kosher meals throughout the day, and during the summer months guests can enjoy a meal or a drink on the beautiful terrace. Rooms are clean and basic in design and all are non-smoking. They include cable TV, air condition, telephone and a bathtub. Internet is available for a fee throughout the hotel and parking is available free of charge on site. Guests can enjoy the YMCA Three Arches Hotels indoor swimming pool, library or squash courts which are available free of charge. Hotel Rooms: 56

The location was great! It was a 5 minute walk to shopping/restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City. The beds were comfortable. The lady at the front desk was rude and not helpful at all. There was very little parking for the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location and ambience.Free breakfast was ample and good choices of food. Observation tower is a big plus. Wi-Fi works without a glitch. A room is a bit smallish. but still OK.

Excellent location in central Jerusalem. It's not a luxury hotel by any means, but it's sufficient for your basic needs. It does have pool and fitness center, though I never got the chance to utilize them. Housekeeping stops by in the morning and afternoon to ask if you need anything, and you can always call the front desk anytime. Be aware of the following: They do not provide wash clothes, just hand towels and bath towels. They provide bath gel and soap, but do not provide shampoo/conditioner in the room. The room I had only had 1 electrical outlet with 2 plugins--but you need 3 plugins to be able to have the refrigerator, tv and cable receiver powered. I bought a 10nis adapter at a local electrical supply to gain additional plugins. There was only 1 plugin in the bathroom (can be set to 220 or 110v). So if you have a lot of beauty appliances (hair dryer, curler etc), be forewarned.

Very unprofessional personal in the restaurant Security stuff that prevents you from smoking in open air areas ppretending: "we want to create an healthy environment" and does it itself in that very places when you turn your back. Security personal that prepares lunch boxes not forgetting to lick their fingers before taking the next thing from the buffet... The sauna and spa area is not clean at all in the evenings!

Very nice building. Beautiful architecture. Nice hotel restaurant (with outside). 5 minutes walk from Jaffa Gate. Very practical parking (included in price). Efficient and friendly personnel. For some obscure reason I have been unable to reach the hotel by phone from abroad. In our room the double bed consisted of are 2 twin beds one next to the other with a big sheet, rather than one big bed. We would have preferred this latter possibility but it was not given.

Wonderful building, helpful staff, pretty patio restaurant. Great location. Spacious room and bathroom, well air-conditioned (greatly appreciated our upgrade!). Excellent value for budget hotel. Restaurant service slow. Breakfast food runs out fast and is replaced slowly or not at all. Food could be better managed and presented.

The building is gorgeous, breakfast is tasty and the use of the pool was very convenient. The bathrooms were not clean--moldy tiles, no internet in the room, old decor.

The building itself (not the rooms) is beautiful. The hotel location is very convenient. Overpriced: the rooms are like rooms in a budget hotel but the price is that of a four star hotel. What you're paying for is mostly location and reputation.

the opportunity to look out over the city from the tower was amazing. Love the architecture and the scriptures that were embedded in the stone Very comfortable mattress which helped the discomfort i had had earlier from . carrying a rucksack.Breakfasts very good. Great being able to sit on the terrace. . the email facility was poor.. was told that it was not part of the hotel's responsibility.

This hotel was much better than expected. Access to interesting sites was very good, it is a beautiful building and worth staying for that. The fact that it is used for other activities besides hotel guests gave it a special atmosphere. We went up the bell tower (definitely worth doing) and a group of children were up there with their teacher drawing pictures of the city. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean. We had a light dinner one evening and it was excellent. The hotel has a taxi driver and the staff will help you negotiate a price. (Important because there are taxis everywhere all wanting your business and the prices are not necessarily consistent.) Having read reviews on the breakfast I was prepared for average food and I wasn't disappointed - I have had better breakfasts elsewhere. When we asked for refills (ie the drinks jugs) it was done quickly, but I didn't think we should have to ask. Having said that, the breakfast offers a good choice and was tasty enough. I had also read about the beds (being a bit uncomfortable) and I agree. We were there three nights and it was enough.

Service was very good, professional, helpful and curtious. The breakfast (included with room) was fabulous: 2 egg dishes, I only had the scrambled eggs. There were about 10-12 different salads including cut up oranges and grapefruit, a basket with apples and bananas, some cheeses, sweet rolls and breads along with a toaster, 4-5 dry cereals, milk, oj, hot and cold water, a variety of teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The view from the tower was great. Lots of sitting areas. Interesting building. Great location for walking about, close to the Old City. Free parking behind the ymca. Good pool for laps; not open on Sundays. Computer available in the lobby, but didn't ask if there was a fee to use it. As typical in many countries we had twin beds pushed together. They were firm but comfortable. Each bed had a lovely thick comforter in a duvet cover but no sheet; it was too hot for sleeping. I tried to turn down the heat in our room, but it didn't seem to make any difference....maybe the room heat is controlled by the managment. We are finding the "duvet with no sheet" in many places and countries. Maybe its an "eco" or "green thing". Shower curtain could have been placed a few inches out to make the narrow bathtub/shower wider, like the shower rods with an arch. None of these things will prevent us from staying here again.

I loved the architecture fitting in with the Jerusalem experience. It was also a central location and not far from imprtant landmarks. It was very clean and comfortable for tourists of any nationality. It would be great if Kosher meals were available too.
