Location, design of the building. wonderful breakfast, terrace. Our bathroom smelled a little bit because of old plumbing; bathtub had no plug and thus was hard to fill.

Location and parking are a big plus. The front desk and resturaunt staff are great and go out of their way to help. great customer service The beauty of the buildings, lobby and architecture cant be beat. Spectacular architecture and layout, designed by the archtect that built the Empire state Building give you the idea of the beauty of the building Restaurant had un expectedly good food, and great service. Despite all the good issues, the building was built in 1933, the rooms have not been touched since then and are ancient. The doors are the original 1933 wood, can put you hand right though them, the lock sets are old , broken, and ready to fall apart. Carpets are really old, stained and worn. Our room had a shower that consisted of a a hole in the floor with a curtain. hardly a 3 star room experinece. The beds were ridiculously un-sleepable, narrow, so soft you roll off the sides at night, and we asked for one queen bed and got 2 narrow doubles( maybe 30" each) pushed together with a chasm in the middle. The room, sleep and comfort negative qualities unfortunately overwelm the beatury of the building and great staff. I give this a 2.5 rating at best. If they renovated the rooms to modern standards, it would easily be a 4.5 star hotel or better, no problem and I'd pay the extra $ to stay there.

Location is excellent. Stuff is friendly and helpful. I keep kosher - there was no kosher certification for the restaurant and food. There were many kosher dishes but i needed to ask the cook for each of them. It was a problem for me.

The location was good for access to the old city. The rooms are outdated, mattresses in need of replacement, and not well cleaned. One can stay at much better hotels in the area for the same or less money. I was not pleased.

Location! Location! Location was perfect...near the Old City, near a new shopping mall, post office, and a short walk to the light rail system with access to several museums. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with taxi reservations and other queries. Breakfast was superior...a huge selection of hot and cold food, including fresh fruit and veggies, breads, cheeses and spreads, and an unlimited supply of fresh, hot coffee. Wonderful views from the top of the tower! The lone computer was slow and busy.

Nice building in a great location with a nice outdoor bar and restaurant with good staff in the restaurant. My kids were amazed to find a full sized basketball court as part of the facilities. The view from the bell tower is exceptional (and under udvertised) Rooms were basic as expected but they weren't clean and the furniture was old. Whilst this isn't the most important aspect of our trip it detracted from the stay.

Location is very good, close to Old City and City center. Staff was very helpful Breakfast, the choice could be better, but it was fine. Beds are very comfortable. Opening hours of swimming pool - whenever I wanted to use it, it was closed, hence the pool was useless for me. I got firstly a room with view for David's road, but the room was very small, I asked to a bigger room. Then I got a bigger room, however with a view for parking, but I didn't care the view, so it was better for me. I would prefer to be informed about these options during check-in. The hotel is just old, however I assume that after been refreshed it would cost much more, like the other hotels in the neighbourhood. Very slow elevator.

The location is fantastic , very close to the Jaffa Gate and Old City in front of a famous Kong David Hotel. The building is beautiful with its old tower where you can go by the lift and admire the scenic panorama of the whole Jerusalem. The lobby very nice, wifi internet access perfect everywhere in the hotel. Restaurant and breakfasts very good, rich buffet, good food.Very nice tables in the garden, beautiful flowers and umbrellas to enjoy morning coffee. In the complex there is an auditorium, we had a chance to be at the concert of a great trio of chamber orchestra from Switzerland. Hotel worth reccomendation with its very old fashioned, kind of magic atmosphere. In the bathroom there was a problem with water in the toilet- it did,t flash and the wash basin was blocked, furniture was rather old and worn out

The building is wonderful and the location perfect - five to ten minutes walk from Jaffa Gate and about the same from the restaurants and bars of Mamilla. The hotel staff, especially those in the restaurant couldn't have been more charming and helpful. It's a lively place with a wide mix of people staying as well as Jerusalemites using the creche, students and business people on conferences. Room decor is a little old and the lift a little small - but if things like that bother you, then there are plenty of antiseptic, soulless piles to choose from elsewhere in the city. Nothing to say here.

The convenience to the old city is great. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very pleasant The rooms were horrific! They were dirty and completely run down. We asked to change rooms the first night and given a smaller room that was at least painted. The following day we were shown another room that was equally filthy. The walls look like they hadn't been cleaned in years. Literally, dirt on the walls. I will NEVER stay her again. Completely unacceptable.

The location is great!! The nearest point to everywhere and very quiet at the same time!!! The building (its the real castle!)itself, the tower, the swimming pool are perfect, the breakfast was good - everyone can choose whatever he likes. Very comfortable underground parking(free!!) and fantastic "back" yard. I was suprised and disappointed of lack of info about the facilities - no "book" about hotel in the room - on each point you have to ask the reception - shedule of the swimming pool, the possibility to get to the tower - the view is so fantastic!!! (It can be charged on top of the price of the room). The time of the meals in the restaurant. But the most disappointing point was the bill for the local calls(within the city!!!) - if its the Israel' hotel' rule it must be mentionted in the book about the hotel which usually is in the room - and it helps much.

Superb central location and so close to Jaffa Gate and the Old City. Wonderfull architectured bulding. The view from the YMCA tower too is spectacular. Staff very helpful and attentive, especially the housekeeping team. Highly recopmmended and would stay here again when in Jerusalem. Just one thing, the decor in our room was looking a bit jaded and tatty and the curtains were definitely in need of and overhaul or replacement.

Proximity to Jaffa Gate and shopping Mall. Splendid design of building. Great breakfasts and nice evening meals. Fairly old sanitary ware so made leg bleed on sharp tap in bath. When settling bill noticed bunch of phone calls had been added incorrectly to bill but which were immediately removed when requested by lovely man on reception.
