“This is a very nice place to stay for a trip to Jerusalem. We stayed in this hotel on May 9-13, 2012. It was a beautiful old hotel full of atmosphere. We had a corner room on the 5th floor. We paid $160 [Canadian]. The bed was large and comfortable [ the pull out couch does needs replacing].”

In the heart of Jerusalem, the YMCA Three Arches Hotel probably has the best location in town. Opposite the famous King David Hotel, it is just minutes from the old city. Most attractions of the city can be explored easily by foot from the hotel. This unique, interesting and historical building was completed in 1933. It has beautiful public areas with arches and lush gardens. The restaurant serves non-kosher meals throughout the day, and during the summer months guests can enjoy a meal or a drink on the beautiful terrace. Rooms are clean and basic in design and all are non-smoking. They include cable TV, air condition, telephone and a bathtub. Internet is available for a fee throughout the hotel and parking is available free of charge on site. Guests can enjoy the YMCA Three Arches Hotels indoor swimming pool, library or squash courts which are available free of charge. This is a very nice place to stay for a trip to Jerusalem. We stayed in this hotel on May 9-13, 2012. It was a beautiful old hotel full of atmosphere. We had a corner room on the 5th floor. We paid $160 [Canadian]. The bed was large and comfortable [ the pull out couch does needs replacing]. The room had air-con which we didn't use as I preferred opening the nice windows to let in natural air. Although there was a chipped bathtub and not a perfectly hung curtain, the place was immaculate. Housekeeping was wonderful and it showed, shiny large common areas, stairwells, elevator and in rooms. We were greeted by a friendly front desk staff and checked in quickly. This hotel offers a large hot breakfast every morning included in price. Free indoor pool and a wonderful located patio in front. Highly recommended. Felt the hotel could be more eco-friendly and would like to see a hotel policy with a card placed in rooms such as this message has proven to inspire recyling activity: join your fellow guests in helping to save the environment Almost 75% of guests who are asked to participate in our new resource savings program do help by using their towels more than once. The location of the YMCA Three Arches is superb - only minutes away from the Old City as well as very convenient for shopping in West Jerusalem city centre. My room (and bathroom) were impeccably clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Initally I was disappointed that I wasnt able to stay in the Old City, but after staying at the YMCA I would never conisder staying anywhere else in Jerusalem. I had five great nights there. It was so much better than I expected.

Reasonable value ($150 for a ttwin) by local standards. Rooms basic , decor tired beds were comfortable. Suspect noise isolation poor. Breakfast adequate. No oher catering other than a coffee shop (inexpensive) Didn't use pool gym eyc. Great position and nice ambiance and grounds. Perfectly adequate for a Jerusalem visit at 1/3 price of the adjacent luxuries (king David, David Citadel, Mamilla and soon the Astoria).

It was one of the most disgusting places I have ever stayed in in my life. It smelled disgusting, and was very very very creepy. I do not suggest staying there at all. Was way to expensive for what it was worth. Overall was the worst experience of my life.

First. We started as a budget selection. But since we were to vsit the Old City Jeruselum, the location was excellent as well. Used the gym and the pool Breakfast was very good. The YMCA had great architecture itself making it seem higher end. Plus the tower view and the castillion Nothing not to like.

I like the architecture the open spaces of the lounge and garden the views across Jerusalem and its location close to the old city. I also enjoyed the facilities of the swimming pool and the excellent breakfast. Ialthough the wifi facility was generous. Overall the YMCA is an excellent place to stay when in Jerusalem and I would recommend my friends to stay there. I did not enjoy the archaic TV system which was difficult to operate and the tv set may well have been an inheritance from biblical times.

This hotel was much better than expected. Access to interesting sites was very good, it is a beautiful building and worth staying for that. The fact that it is used for other activities besides hotel guests gave it a special atmosphere. We went up the bell tower (definitely worth doing) and a group of children were up there with their teacher drawing pictures of the city. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean. We had a light dinner one evening and it was excellent. The hotel has a taxi driver and the staff will help you negotiate a price. (Important because there are taxis everywhere all wanting your business and the prices are not necessarily consistent.) Having read reviews on the breakfast I was prepared for average food and I wasn't disappointed - I have had better breakfasts elsewhere. When we asked for refills (ie the drinks jugs) it was done quickly, but I didn't think we should have to ask. Having said that, the breakfast offers a good choice and was tasty enough. I had also read about the beds (being a bit uncomfortable) and I agree. We were there three nights and it was enough.

I loved the architecture fitting in with the Jerusalem experience. It was also a central location and not far from imprtant landmarks. It was very clean and comfortable for tourists of any nationality. It would be great if Kosher meals were available too.

Very unprofessional personal in the restaurant Security stuff that prevents you from smoking in open air areas ppretending: "we want to create an healthy environment" and does it itself in that very places when you turn your back. Security personal that prepares lunch boxes not forgetting to lick their fingers before taking the next thing from the buffet... The sauna and spa area is not clean at all in the evenings!
