Bamboo Lagoon offers a perfect stay. Its staff is extremely friendly and makes the stay worthwile. The services were very good and we had a very good time at the resort.
The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water. The staff were exceptionally helpful, organizing a houseboat and multiple taxi's for us. The food was delicious and available at any time of the day (I think they had to go and pick up the meals from somewhere else?) Great views of the river and all the houseboats going past. A little out of the way of the main part of the town, so good if you want some quiet.
To get to the hotel you had to catch a small boat across the river. I actually liked this though, it was fun and added to the element of the place. Some people may not enjoy it though.
The canal ride, arsha & byju`s hopitality, and of course value for money !
More things to do and fun activities can be arranged.
The location of the resort is excellent.. Very friendly staff.. It is run by a very friendly couple..
A lot of mosquitoes. The repellent provided is of no use. You have to depend on a person to go to the other side of the backwater.
Location was good
No hospitality, Rude words, Poor Service, No Planning, NIL experience in service, Cautious about property, complaining about resident kids, false promises about payment type and totally not recommendable to stay with peace of mind.
- Fantastic staff service: really attentive and helpful - Amazing location - After staying at different resorts in Alleppey the best value for money that you could find
Excellent staff!! - very helpful and engaging Nice location - by the waterfront.. need to take a boat to get in! Rooms were clean and tidy Cardamom Chai.. fantastic!
AC did not work..and considering summer.. was a little bothersome..They brought an extra fan though. Dinner was average + overpriced.. also dont have any other option
We like completely everything and it was the best stay in India and we will definitely come back again. When we booked this hotel, Rajith emailed to us straight away and organized for us a pick up. We have booked also with him houseboat and this guy will do for you everything. The food was delicious and staff was completely perfect. Location is very quiet, which is very cool and great thing is that you can pay by card. When we were leaving very late from the hotel, Rajith gave us a room free of charge and he also organized for us a drop off.
Accommodation was spacious and clean. A beautiful spot on a canal providing a peaceful location to lay back in the hammock and watch the boats pass by. A pleasant walk along the canal leads to a rice paddy--great place for bird watching. The food was excellent-I especially recommend the local fish prepared Keralan style; delicious! Reggie was an excellent host and very helpful in providing information for the local area as well as other locations in Kerala.
There is need to wave down someone to have them bring the boat across to main shore for pick-up and transfer across canal to the resort. To some this may be an annoyance....however to myself this is part of the charm of Bamboo Lagoon.
friendly staff good boat service, because it is a small island, the manager did his very best
the room very small, small gardenground, no privacy I was surrounded by peoples, who where sitting just in front of my roomdoor, price too high,
The view from our balcony, the location, the friendly staff.
The location of this place is quite good, situated in an inlet bang on the backwaters, but what they have done with it is quite poor. The staff is courteous and polite.
Though it is located on the backwaters, it's quite a busy waterway, with a lot of houseboats and motor boats zooming about. Many of them playing loud music and disturbing the peace. The way to the resort is quite tricky. We had our own car and relied on Google Maps, which was intent on sending us to a boat jetty to get to the resort. We had to manually set the route to Punnamada Finishing Point Rd and then relying on some signboards, found the extremely narrow road leading to the inlet. Once there, we weren't sure about what to do. There were signs for Bamboo Lagoon, but it looked like a ramshackle place. And the number given on the site was a Dubai one! Or maybe the owner was in Dubai at that time. Anyway, he gave our number to the manager, who then called us and then it was conveyed to us that we can access the resort only via a shikara, which was fine by us. But I think that it is imperative for Bamboo Lagoon to explain all the route details on their page or at least once someone books a room at their place. The resort premises itself are so tiny that we felt quite confined. One can't even call it a resort; it's more like a small homestay. Our room was also pretty small. And there is absolutely nothing to do there! Unless you have a good book for company, all you can do is gaze at the waterway (for how long can one do that?) or watch TV. Of course, most of your day might go in sight-seeing expeditions, but you might want to return to the resort before it gets dark, because of the twisty, narrow roads leading to it. The food was another disappointment. The manager had warned us that the food was quite simple, but Rs. 100 for a small bowl of salt-less dal?? I feel that they should at least improve on the quality of their food, as I don't see how they could increase the size of their property. Also, just one plug outlet in the entire room in this electronic world??
The location of the hotel is excellent but still need lots of improvement.
The way from main road to the car parking area is very congested. Even the parking area is very congested only one vehicle is parked at a time. The twin room is very small for a family of four persons. If you want a bed tea, it is not possible at early morning hours i.e. not before 7'O clock. The kitchen is closed at 10 or 10:30PM.
Very relaxing, beautiful location on water's edge. Friendly staff who cooked evening meal and even got hold of some beer.
We weren't aware that we'd have to cross the water by rowing boat to get to the guest house. The place is totally isolated so had to depend on staff for evening meal (a good fish curry) which we ate in our room. One night was fine but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. We were restricted in boat tour options as there were just two of us so had to take what was offered. When we needed to leave early next morning no staff were around to get us across the water as arranged. I had to wake up the manager and we eventually got across the water to get the waiting tuk-tuk (pre-booked by manager) to take us to the train station. We only just made our train with no breakfast.
The location is excellent. Right in the middle of the backwaters. The staff specially Mr Abhi is excellent who try to make do everything to make your stay comfortable. BUT.....
BUT...the location has its fare share of problems. It is kind of a homestay and not a RESORT. It has a small kitchen and to have some food you will have to inform the staff in advance. Also because of the location once cannot really go by themselves for mid day shopping, walks etc as to reach the main road you will have to take a boat. Also becuase of water and greenery all around, problem of mosquitos and bugs will be there. Be prepared.
The resort is right on the backwaters so you can get a very good view of the backwaters from the resort. The food was very good and tasty. The staffs, Abhi was very friendly and helpful
The resort is connected only by water so u have to take a boat to reach the resort, so basically u can't just walk out
Great staff! The chef made awesome food for us by request. Took some time to prepare but it was worth every bite! The guys helped us with rikshaws and sightseeing. Taking a boat is a must!
Needs some touch-ups... place is a little old and outdated. Rooms are tiny. Floors in rooms dirty.
Beware of eating food, it is very very costly
