I booked 5 nights but 3 was enough to visit local sights.
I booked 5 nights but 3 was enough to visit local sights. I stayed at a hotel walking distance from the station and it also proved walking distance from the meenakshi temple (west gate). Check out the Jain temple on the approach to the west gate. I’d recommend taking socks for the temple visit as shoes are not allowed and the stone floors can get quite hot. Highly recommend touring the outside of the temple for great photos as not cameras are allowed inside, but some shops will allow photos from their rooftops in the hope of a purchase. Beggars are persistent as are street sellers. Thirumalai nayakkar Mahal is well worth a visit - I used google maps to get around and on route to this beautiful building I came across a super shop (AK. Ahamed) for clothes etc - something I would have missed had I taken a ride. I found clothes, food and local travel cheaper than many other cities. I viewed other recommendations for places to eat but I did find it difficult to get the message across about “non-spicy” as it seems many of the sauces come pre-prepped.

Disappointed by our time here: temples are great, but Madurai let down in comparison to other cities in Tamil Nadu by dirty streets and poor roads, overly greedy auto drivers (again far worse than in other Indian cities!). Would not choose to visit again

If you are a person with faith , must visit place only for temple . City like many other cities in India are chaotic and disorderly. Not a customer service oriented atmosphere . Stick with the objective of faith relevant places , don't let people behavior concern you too much .

Maduraï is a big, busy, noisy, polluted city, as it is I guess, everywhere in India, now that people can afford motorbikes and cars.
But the Temple and the Palace too, are worth seing, and, moroever, they are quiet places. I would advise to find a good hotel a bit off town, to rest peacefully.

The Meenakshi Temple is over crowded.People who can't stand for long time in queue may find the visit disappointing. We purchased Rs.100 tickets yet decided not to have darshan as the crowd was too much. But the Sculpture around the temple is excellent.People can go just to have a glimpse of those Marvelous ones.We had the famous Jigar-thanda, Soda with lemon and salt and Panneer Soda(Soda with rose water taste). One can move around in Autos.
The hotel does a great job with most things. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff at the restaurant were kind and courteous. The gym was decent but well maintained. I was very impressed overall. I was travelling from Chennai and they would give some of the best hotels in Chennai a run for their money. I hope they can maintain this standard of quality and that I can stay with them the next time I visit.
This charming home surrounded by beautiful gardens makes a lovely setting to enjoy, amazing place to stay with family. I like the view and location
The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Best place In Madurai outskirts without any disturbances
I have stayed at dozen of hotels in madurai. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is so clean and High quality rooms (there was even a tv by the shower). Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much.
Very clean rooms, good internet speeds, good breakfast. The hotel has good security features as well.
Most importantly don't forget to avail Red Taxi services to travel around Madurai. They are very professional and you can avoid dealing with Auto guys and their exorbitant prices and bad behavior.
I have booked 2 rooms for 4 persons through Booking.com and got confirmation from the Hotel Authorities. On arrival at the Hotel I was told that rooms are not available. Very very bad experience. I have wasted my 2 hours valuable time in search of another Hotel....
Plus is the location. It is nearby Meenakshi Amman Temple. But, they could have provided a soap. They had a soap dispenser of course. But, a new packet soap could have been good. Other than that, everything was good. I recommend this hotel for exploring Madurai.
Cheap no-frills hotel with a very good location. Don’t expect any luxury or extremely welcoming staff, but for a night or two in Madurai I was pleasantly surprised. very good shower with actual hot water was present.
The staff were courteous. The food was nice. Room service was good. The Hotel is located in a nice place. Most of the places in Madurai are easy to reach from this Hotel. There is pool for kids.
While booking informed hotel car parking available,. once reached, they said only temple parking was available
Need to give clear information, so we can plan accordingly,
Nice and new rooms. Rooms and washroom was very clean. Decent for a 3 star hotel. We just booked one day before for a weekend and it was available. Thats a plus.
