Score from 12 reviews Very good
over priced and poor service, they tried to over charge us even when we were paying a premium price (booked on the net ) had a 1 hour argument with staff? till they rang owner. no one seemed to be in charge..no one to provide/cook breakfast..the other 3 hotels we stayed in while in India, third the price great service and lovely people
Location Only stayed 6 hours!
If you want a toilet that doesn't work, insufficient toilet paper for a 6 hour stay. No top sheet on the bed and paper thin towels. Wires hanging out of the wall and no staff as such to deal with. Then book a double budget room!
Loved the place. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Value for money. Staff is very friendly. The food at Buzz cafe is very nice. The owner, Mr Zennel is a very interesting and charming person and ensures quality care and service delivered to his guests. If I ever go back to Kochi, I am definitely staying here.
A great location close to all the sights of Fort Cochin, and friendly staff made our stay at Elphinstone Residency very enjoyable. The room (an outside bungalow) was comfortable and clean.
The bathroom was quite basic.
The establishment is located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, just 5 minutes away from the beach. I was particular impressed with the quality of the room - it has surpassed some places where I've paid double ir even triple the amount for the night.
Absolutely no complaints
Lovely helpful staff. Beautiful comfortable rooms. Quiet ideal location
Room lacked basic amenities such as kettle. Aircon constantly broke. Very loud at night & early in the morning. Troubles with wifi due to storm. No credit card machine
Located very close to the main activity areas of fort. Plenty of options available for eating in a 1 km walking area, plus in house restaurant superb, serves authentic Malayali food, sea food and great cafe Quaint little house, rooms are clean and courteous staff I only booked last minute, but was a good deal, location, price and experience wise
TV gets too many Mallu channels
Ultra professional warm european Hospitality. Excellent breakfat included in package. Very hep coffee shop. Ultimate location. Young and vibrant management. The best hotel ive stayed in and received the best treatment ever
I liked my stay at this homestay.
Ambience, simple clean atmosphere, good food great staff, neat rooms, awesome cafeteria
A/C dint work,so we had to change rooms.no parking facility. Clean but smelly toilet.
It was a good location for seeing Fort Kochi. It is on a quiet street but close to the places you are likely to want to visit. Breakfast was available and a good restaurant was just across the street.
The room was basic but ok however it smelt damp and had damp on the walls. Not everyone would be happy with that.
Quite and cute place in Fort Cochi. Fresh design and polite stuff. Good choice to stay.
Don't go with breakfast.
Good for people on vacation, a calm and quiet corner away from buzzing city. A nice restaurant nearby, it's a cozy small lodge.
Dirty towels and linen. No good break fast available
What I loved about this place was it's location, the architecture, the ambiance, the service and the kind of peace and tranquility this place can offer. Excellent is the word. Had an amazing time there.
Location was ideal, with close proximity to beach. Its a good value for money stay, with a nice restaurant attached to the hotel. Hotel upgraded us to a better room as they didn't had many guests, without us asking for it.
You cant expect 5 star facilities for the money you pay. AC in our room had an issue but was fixed later.
Clean, Friendly Place.
Location was good and the staff we're generally helpful. We took the budget room so the accommodation was fair
One staff member was too pushy in trying to get us to take him on as our driver for the week
Nice neighborhood and walking distance from the beach and fort kochi. Place looks visually appealing. The fact that they have a cafe and a restaurant is a plus.
I didn't find the staff interested in running the place. They didn't offer any information about the neighborhood and didn't even have a map. The wifi didn't work but I guess they don't have control over the service provider. The mattress was uncomfortable. The towels didn't feel hygienic so carry your own. The AC didn't cool properly so I also had to use the fan, which worked only on number 5, the fastest speed, and the room was small so it was like trying to sleep in a tornado. While it some may say its value for money I didn't get good rest so I'd suggest you pay a bit more and stay in a nicer place.
Elphinestone Residency was perfect for my boyfriend and I who wanted a base close to the central hub of Fort Cochin. Everything was in easy walking distance from the hotel! The hotel also arranged a taxi pickup from the airport and Mr. Niyas was absolutely essential in making our visit to Kerala a success! Mr. Niyas was friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. Excellent!
This place is best choice if you are in a group and looking for an affordable stay. The best part is the in house Buzz cafe and the restaurant 'Oceanos' which serves amazing sea-food. The staff is very friendly.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing.
The restaurant attached was good. Staff very prompt serving and with queries.
The Elphinstone Residency is suitably located in the heart of Fort Kochi. There is an excellent restaurant called Oceanos on site, that offers good food at reasonable prices, you have tourists from other hotels coming to sample their food. There is another restaurant on site but we shall leave that for the what you didn't like part lol. The Beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well. We slept very well. Staff are friendly and organized our car for the onward journey
The Hotel is very basic. We stayed in the so called Deluxe Double room and there was absolutely nothing deluxe about it. My Mum and sister who stayed in the standards double room had a far better room, shower and toilet. Neither of the rooms boasted of basic facilities like a kettle for tea and coffee or bottled water. Our bathroom looked grubby and the toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall ( no place to keep your shower gel and shampoo) The television didn't work and the staff although friendly didn't seem to concerned about sorting it out, not even an apology was given. The Hotel boasts two restaurants,Oceanos and a Deli. The latter is a joke and the included breakfast is a farce. They shouldn't even advertise it as a free breakfast cause its sad. At check out they wouldn't take my card and wanted cash instead. It was all very stressful and would have been nice had they just told us the previous night. The staff are friendly like all the reviews say but unfortunately that can only take you so far. Their product is very poor. The hotel does have a relaxed feel about it and the architecture of the building is in keeping with Fort Kochis old world charm but that's about it. We definitely wont be staying here again. PS. There is a simple restaurant called Fish N Chips, opposite the Basilica church. Its run by a family and they are so warm and kind and it speaks through their tasty food. Try them if you get a chance.
Good value for money accommodation. Staff are amazing really friendly, the location is perfect.
Everything was absolutely perfect. Everybody so love what they do.
