It was a convenient location for my business meetings, and the room facilities were quite comfortable. Additionally, the room service and restaurant food was very delicious. The guest services team was very good at helping me with area info and arranging car hire for me. - Unfortunately, the horrid smell of New Delhi (I'm sorry, but it is an extremely polluted city, with an awful, permeating odor) comes into the hotel. I could escape it in my room, but the common areas of the hotel, including the hallway as high up as my 8th floor, were completely stinky like the smog/burning trash smell that you can't escape in New Delhi. This made for a very unhappy experience most days as it was like a punch in the face every time I left my room. - Spa / Gym - although I enjoyed the spa treatment I received, I did NOT like the attendants in the male locker room. Indian service and hospitality is very attentive. But there is such thing as TOO attentive. I do not need someone to linger in the locker room when I am the only person in the locker room, and standing 3 feet from me while I change, trying to help me put things in my locker. It was just too much. It would be nice if they could instruct their locker room attendants (who also followed me to the showers and were always just "there") to give people personal space, and only assist when asked. I realize there are cultural differences in this sense, but in the service industry you ought to attempt to find an approach that makes your guests feel comfortable, not uncomfortable. - Gym was more of an afterthought. In a 5 star facility like this, I expected a much better offer than just a small room with a few machines crammed into it. A nicer, more complete workout area would be very welcome. - in the end, I would recommend this hotel, because it does a good job of offering services, but it always is upsetting to spend good money on a 5 star hotel and come away with some satisfaction. I'm not sure how they can deal with something like the smell, as that is maybe out of their hands.

The Metropolitan Hotel is in a very central location in Delhi. It's easy to get a lot of places around town and the metro is within easy walking distance (the hotel staff also volunteer to drive us to the metro). In terms of the hotel itself, the renovated rooms and lobby are modern are upper mid-level quality. The pool side area and breakfast are very nice. Service is not very good at this hotel. There is a definite difference between 5 star and 4 star in Delhi (I also spent several nights at The Oberoi, which was far superior). The first room I was put into at the Metropolitan had a problem with the plumbing (only scalding hot water would come out of the taps). It took staff multiple times to try to address it and it didn't work. Ultimately, I was moved to another room. The concierge staff also varied widely in quality and ability to understand English.

Staff were cordial; and this made up for my stay which I thought was overpriced at inr 6200.00 per day. It was advertised that it is for inr 5,000.00 per day, but however there was lots of hidden charges; Lot of renovation work in progress!!! Too much noise throughout my stay!!!

We arrived at 3am and they quickly arranged another bed as we were travelling as a group of three. Rooms nice design, comfortable beds. Positive points out way the negative, the club lounge and the complimentary drinks and food in the evenings was very nice and the staff in the club lounge were very nice and helpful. Internet provided here, they did try to charge for internet when it was included in room price, however removed immediately when brought up. Just be mindful that the extra taxes do mount up here and in some restaurants in Delhi, where elsewhere in India they seemed to be included rather than an extra when paying the bill. Over all a good hotel. Only complaints were that the water smelt quiet bad in bathroom, we stayed in a lot of hotels in India and the water here did smell quiet wrong compared to other places (was ok in showers in spa), the shower tiles were smooth and dangerous and the air conditioning made more noise than it did cool the room.

I stayed at the Met on two separate occasions over a Christmas & New Year's break, both times in a Club Room. This is a good 4-star hotel: it is definitely not 5-star, but it is a great hotel for Delhi & India (where I have stayed in places ranging from $10/night holes to 4-star luxury). Rooms were a good size & the bed was amazingly comfortable. Bathroom on the small side & layout not the best (with the door open you couldn't get to the toilet), but it was gleaming clean, with great water pressure. Staff were lovely, very happy to help once they understood whatever it was you were asking for. Location is okay -- it's possibly about a 15 minute walk from Connaught Place, but Delhi is not a city for pedestrians, & I took the metro & autorickshaws everywhere. The gym is small, but adequate for a basic cardio+resistance workout. Overall a good hotel if you can get a good price or are travelling on business (it seems very well set up for business needs). The bathrooms can be a bit small & cramped.

Very warm welcome from the Guest Relations Manager, an extremely courteous lady One of the Restaurant Staff alaways proposed the more expensive mineral water, a greater number of food items; may be however, in good faith!
