pool is getting ready. And no TVs is there in any room. Intercom should be there in every room in order to order some food
location and sea view, evening restaurant in open location.
The bungalow 30m from the sea, the very good restaurant (seafood basket and the fish cooked in a banan leaf). The manager is top.
Overall it was a very good experience.
Hotel rooms and location and sea view outside and from inside the room. Staff was very good. Well maintained rooms.
Our room had a malfunctioning air conditioner but the staff tried several times to correct it and ended by upgrading our room at no cost.
The location at the north end of Varkala is quiet and peaceful. The staff were very attentive and eager to make your stay a happy one. The food is very good .. fresh seafood offered every evening. Travel arrangements are easily taken care of.
Everything about the hotel was good but didn't enjoy the Varkala cliff which was covered in rubbish and full of tourist shops calling you in and all selling the same clothes from northern India. Another good reason to stay at Palm Tree Heritage
Excellent location on a small sandy beach. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Great place to have candle-lit romantic dinners on the beach. Swimming not for everyone as large breakers and undercurrents but good to paddle and cool off. Beach and surrounding areas kept very clean, unlike the rest of Varkala. Great watching the fisherment pulling in their nets in the morning as well as the playful mongooses in the rocks playing hide and seek. If you go to Varkala this is the place to stay.
Great service - staff is wonderfully attentive. Comfortable rooms and grounds. Awesome dining on the beach and great food - very fresh fish every day! Lovely area to walk on the beach, walk to shops on the cliff, or just hang out at the resort.
Babu was very helpful.staff very friendly and polite.lovely place to chill out.food excellent ate there most nights.
cleanness could use a little improvement...
Great beach front location, small and relaxing place, friendly staff, great food, romantic restaurant on the beach
The power seems a bit up and down and a generator was used one night, which helped a lot. Not a criticism of the place but the sea is rough with strong currents so beware if swimming!
Quiet and peaceful, fantastic sea views, good food, especially fish and seafood in the evening, sat and watched the sunset on the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff, from cleaners to management and everyone inbetween.
wi-fi not reliable .
staff helpful . location .
Too quiet for our taste and everything to do in Kerala is a long way. We were told it is like Goa used to be give me Goa every time.
Friendly staff and pretty spot
Pool under construction
Right on the sea, cool, lush garden. Excellent food. Easy walk to cliff top restaurants and market
Don't travel to India if you are looking for perfect Western standards. Of course, it can happen that electricity fails for an hour or that Wlan is not always perfectly fast. Still, the services in this place were among the best we have seen in India.
The hotel is perfectly located on a private, directly accessible beach. A larger beach can be reached within 5 min. It is away from the touristic Varkala cliff, but still, this can be reached by foot within 15 min. The food in the beach restaurant (no mosquitos) is excellent. Indian and European style food is available and the staff reads every wish from your eye. We are paranoic concerning hygiene, but this place met all our expectations. We walked past all the places in Varkala, and this is for sure the best. They furthermore have a competent travel desk and can organize also larger tours with accomodation etc. (e.g. houseboat in Allepey). But you will probably like the place so much that going away is not so interesting anyway:-)
The standard of food and prices . A lot better and more variety in the village along the cliff top , and a lot cheaper ! Even the free breakfast was not worth it . You can have a amazing breakfast for less then $5 dollars per person . Worth the beautiful walk there!
The view of the beach and fisherman and the gardens with hammocks to relax in ! A nice area along the beachfront and ocean to walk or run if you like .
Missed a TV
We stayed for a couple of days at this place in Dec . We absolutely loved the place right from first sight. Right next to the beach , yet very secluded and quiet. The beach is quite a sight and it is truly relaxing to sit in the restaurant and gaze at the waves / small fishing boats. The property is nice - not pompous but cosy. Rooms are well designed in a traditional manner and the bathroom is huge and fitted with a bath tub. Food was awesome and the candlelight dinners on the beach side were memorable. Overall felt the place was true value for money and very nice for a quiet break.
Restaurant food was mediocre and one evening we waited a very long time to get our meal. A warning about paying. for some reason our Visa card didn't work here so we had to hassle with several ATMs before we could pay our bill. We were told that this happens sometime but weren't forewarned.
The location was excellent, we stayed in the bungalow which afforded easy beach access and the glorious sound of waves meeting the shore. Swimming is wonderful here. Some of the restaurant staff are very good.
It is at waling distance from Verkala and Kappil beaches. Best thing was that it was not crowded and very clean. Resort offers good food and staff is also quite nice.
they charged me for 11,000 Rs for 1 11 hours stay, its a horrible experience,no TV,No intercom, bad food, cockroches in rooms.they take 20% extra in name of tax but never share the tax no of their company ( which is mandatory for any orgn).
nothing is good
Gorgeous site. The staff was extremely kind, considerate, and helpful.
Staff were wonderful, location fantastic, very peaceful.
-a weak wi-fi signal
We have spent 9 days there, nov.13-Nov.22.2014. and we are very, very satisfied. The location is unique, people and service absolutly perfect.....to recommend.
We were upgraded to Villa though we booked family suite and the stay was very relaxed and good. The leisure walk on the cliff road is awesome and yeah beaches too. The breakfast is good
No TV in rooms wifi v erratic n very far from town so limited activities in the evenings. Also very dark in the eve as no lights on the beach
Lovely large room, hotel by the sea staff very helpful
Surf a little high for more feeble swimmers, but they are building a pool!!
Idyllic beach setting, superb friendly helpful staff, cliff walks, really good food, lovely garden, fish-landing show every morning on beach, a place where you just feel glad to be alive and in Kerala.w
intercom in the room would have been better. On the last day, I was told that the card swiping machine has been taken by the IT officials, and i have to pay by cash. however, i saw the machine in the reception while paying my food bill in the evening. I fail to understand why they told me so!!!!!!!
The ambiance was really quiet and excellent. We stayed there for 5 days watching fishermen fishing early morning, bathing in the sea (on an almost private beach). Courteous and helpful staffs, good service was the key. a very nice place to be for a relaxing holiday.
