We travelled to Udaipur in end of January which was the perfect season but it happened to be the loooong weekend so too much crowd. Better to avoid such times. The lanes in old city are super narrow, so avoid taking the car in the lanes. best way is to walk or to take auto rickshaw up to one point and then walk around. Auto guys are super cool! They drive like James Bond:-) Most of the good restaurants are lake side. Ambrai is one of the best! Awesome view, Awesome staff, awesome food!! Do visit Artist Art shop outside Trident Hotel. They have amazing silver jewelry and other stuff like shawls, dresses, arty bags as well! 15 A.D. Cafe/ Bakery sales delicious cookies! Its a veg cafe but the food was surprisingly tasty!! A must visit place!

Udaipur, city of lakes is very charming and peaceful.
Udaipur, city of lakes is very charming and peaceful. Though the city is as busy as it could be in India but still less crowded and with a feeling of peace. Lakes views are great and many things to visit. And great place to buy beautiful sarees and sherwanis.

The most overriding factor was that I was lied to.
The most overriding factor was that I was lied to. And the total lack of interest to solve a really simple issue. Once they had my money that was it . Just “ yes sir “ “ we will look in to it sir” just lies to deflect me.

The city palace was beautiful & interesting to visit we hired a tour guide from there who knew everything and took us around in 1hr as we didn’t have much time but to our advantage he managed to get through all the crowds. They can take you on a longer tour but when I went it was really busy in December so opted for the 1hr tour which he covered literally everything.
I ate at the Leela Palace in the evenings but there are restaurants locally and walking distance which we found out on the last night of our stay.
Didn’t visit any of the other palaces as it was closed to visitors in December as it was too busy with their own guests & bookings which was understandable
I would advise to catch a tuk tuk as it’s quicker to get around on the narrow roads
Excellent location, I was able to walk to the main sights in Udaipur. The place is a 300 year old palace in great shape. I had a room with a view of the City Palace. Everything was working, good need and good got water. Room pretty. I took the boat ride organized by the hotel which was very nice. The restaurant is one of the most romantic I have seen - in beautiful garden by the lake with full view of all of Udaipur. I ended up eating there three times! Overall one of the best hotel experiences I had in a long time especially for the value.
Little Peepal House is very conveniently located near by Jagdish Temple and very close to Jagore Ki Havelli. Parvat was an excellent host and went above and beyond to help me get tickets for the Rajasthani Folk Dance show and Jagore Ki Havelli and took me to TigerLake and Ahar Cenotaphs - worth the trip. I loved Udaipur, and Parvat made it all the more memorable. HUGE THANKS TO YOU!!!
Note that the hotel is very tall and steep so you will have to climb stairs. The rooftop view is excellent! We watched fireworks from here on NYE!
Firstly, the location of the Haveli is right in the heart of the Udaipur City, and all major tourist hotspots are just few footsteps away. Full marks for service and courteous staff behaviour.
Awesome food available at the restaurant.
Would like to specially mention, that the rooftop restaurant offers awesome view of the City palace.
Since, we were travelling with our infant, we asked them to cater to special food requirements. They were generous enough to listen to our Beck and call.
Would highly recommend to all.
The hotel is little but charming and the rooms are very beautiful. We got an upgrade and the bathroom was very big and had 2 sinks, a big shower and a bathtub. The reception was open 24/24 and ready to meet your requests. The breakfast was delicious and the waiters very polite. The restaurant on the terrace has a magnificent view of Udaipur and the food served is tasty and cheap. Laundry service was provided. The manager helped us in booking a train ticket to Jaipur.
Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. We travelled with two six year olds and lots of luggage and despite the stairs up to the elevator this was one of the nicest places we stayed in the four weeks we were in rajasthan
Thanks for making our visit to hotel sun palace that much better.
Cost: very cheap compare to other hotels
Location: in old udaipur city, just behind city palace, main market is very close
Staff: very supporting, helped us to find good restro and many time staff person brought food for us at room and provided good service.
Rooftop: enjoy your lunch/dinner and drink
Good room space.
I think you wouldn't get this kind of facilities in cheap amount.
Highly recommended
Location is really close to the main tourist areas near Lake Pichola. Walkable and close to Jagdish Mandir.
The view is good as well. The evening free sunset tea is a bonus.
It is clean and the bunk beds are comfortable. The room I was in had 6 beds and each bed had a charging point with bedcover, blanker and a pillow.
This is the place to choose if you want the luxury of a hotel and warmth of a homestay. It was a lovely heritage property, at a walkable distance from the city palace and other tourist attractions. The best part was definitely the gracious owners and the lovely staff. I highly recommend this place in Udaipur.
The most royal of the heritage properties in India. Excellent hospitality by Taj group.
Considering what one pays for the room, the scale of amenities are limited owing to the fact that it is a heritage property, the overall experience makes up for all the lags.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Udaipur!
Clean rooms , bathroom and other services of hotel and mainly feeling secured and comfortable..
Special Thanks to Mr.Aman who supported us during our stay for good support and provided reference paper of most visited places which us a lot to manages our planning of udaipur to cover most places .
Really loved my stay. Heritage hotel so the architecture and aesthetics stood out. Click pictures within the property and see your friends go green with envy. Professional yet friendly reception desk. Stone's throw from the City Palace. Vantage point. Quite affordable and value for money!
The hotel has the best location in Udaipur. Close to shops and wth a top flor restaurant with great views of the lake and the city palace in addition to tasty food. A small roof over one of the two restaurant floors was perfect during the monsoön season. Friendly and very helpful owners.
Pradeep and his family were excellent hosts!
The room and the hotel were really great as is the location since it's less than 5 min from all the sites
The breakfast was delicious (both western and Indian foods)
Best value for money option for your stay in udaipur
Totally recommended!
Newly constructed hotel
Authentic façade & architecturally compatible with Udaipur
Small scale - 10 rooms
Room decor, design m, fittings & attention to detail next level
Owners warm, inclusive & helpful
Unique roof top space frames City Palace
Gorgeous stay
Highly recommend
Situated right on the shores of Lake Pichola, this hotel offers a great view of the city palace and the nearby attractions. Overall service is great considering it is a heritage property. At a walking distance to most of the key tourist places in Udaipur old city.
We booked this hotel ourselves because our tour company " Incredible India Journeys" were so bad they didn't book a hotel for us. 😡😡. The location is amazing,
It's close to everything. Even the city palace is walking distance. Good choice.
Very nice hotel in the heart of Udaipur. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The room was large with a clean bathroom. Tried the food from the restaurant and it was tasty. The highlight is for sure the rooftop bar/restaurant.
This is a lovely place to stay in Udaipur! The women there are so friendly and welcoming. And the room was beautiful-like a little boutique hotel room. Plus the Indian breakfast each morning was awesome. Definitely recommend!
The location is just 100 Myrsa away from Udaivilas Palace Hotel. The hotel is clean and rooms are good. Staff Is courteous. Terrace restaurant has good view. Food was average
