Score from 238 reviews Good
The location is really good and all the staff is quite helpful. There are very good restaurants nearby and you're just 10-15 minutes walking from the Gateway.
some noise during night sleep.
Really great for a 2 star hotel. Very central location. Although the restaurant is a bit small, the breakfast was good.
We needed a new wifi password every 12 hours. Sound isolation is poor, couldn't sleep because of the baby crying in the next door room.
Staff was good and accommodating. Rooms are good. Buffet breakfast was good.
Did not have restaurant of its own. Lunch and Dinner was not available during the stay as the food joint from where they order food was closed.
Breakfast was lovely....
Good location, good staffs, good breakfast ...staffs in kitchen are very nice.
perfect location for sightseeing, good quality to fair value, nice staff, very helpful
poor menu, but fair to price
Rooms were well decorated n well defined. Breakfast was nice. Staff were courteous and we even got an extension of few hours on request which they were initially hesitant about.
Size of bathroom was bit small. Not enough points in the room to charge mobile phones in this world of smartfones.
we loved our stay here, the staff were all so helpful , great breakfast, we had room service and enjoyed the butter chicken one night and chicken tikka the next
nowhere to stow your dsuitcase
Surronding not very appealing but hotel is two steps from subway station, airport train and canal boat. One suway stop from huge mall. For couple buks get you downtown. Room is fair size clean and comfortable.buffet breakfast is ok.
location,staff quality breakfast
great location, friendly staff, nice breakfasts, beautiful room
wifi runs out after 12 hours, and have to ask at front desk each day for a new code...?
I stayed in Fort Residency for 3 nights/ 4days with my wife and two kids (Age 9 and 7) in Oct’14. The property is located in the heart of the Fort area with all the prominent landmarks (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai Building, Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai Police Commissioner's Office, BSE, Flora Fountain, Bombay High Court, Mumbai University, Rajabai Clock Tower, Jehangir Art Gallery, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, National Gallery of Modern Art, Gateway of India, The Taj Mahal Palace, Marine Drive and Church Gate Station at walk-able distance. While we had booked ourselves in a Deluxe Double Twin room in the old building, we were upgraded to Club room in the Annexe building. They clearly communicated that this was done considering that this room is more spacious and we were 4 members. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, courteous and always willing to help. The buffet break fast spread was extremely good with an excellent mix of South/North/West and Continental Breakfast. Apart from the Buffet Breakfast we also had dinner twice. While this is not cooked within the property it was delivered to the room within few minutes and was good. Pros: Excellent Location, Helpful and Friendly Staff, Great Food. The Reception Annex had an amazing collection of books about India in General and Mumbai in particular. Overall we had an excellent time at Fort Residency Mumbai. Highly recommended. Room Tip: In case of any doubts please take the help of the reception staff.
The rooms are a little old and require a bit of makeover. There were drops of water spilling over from the overhead Air Conditioner.
Good service , friendly staff , breakfast good , staff very helpful.
Very far from the action , rooms very small.
Room was well equipped. Breakfast was good. Staff were nice and helpful.
The room was not clean. Walking around without socks on turned our feet black from dust. There was also a cheesey smell from the bathroom. In Mumbai you don't expect value for money but at this price cleanliness is a bare minumum.
Staff are very friendly, close buy a lot of traditional shops, food is excellent
They started a paint job one the 3rd floor which the smell lasted for a while and they were kind enough to find another room on another floor.
practically everything - especially the staff - very friendly and helpful - great location too
Good location close to VT station and sights of Colaba (15 minute walk to Gateway of India). Staff were friendly and rooms were basic but good value for money. Food didn't offer great variety, but it was fine.
Rooms were very small and the TV didn't work.
Very helpful staff; good breakfast buffet. Great location in downtown Mumbai.
My room was really too small to open a suitcase other than on the bed and it was so close to the lift that I heard everyone speaking while waiting.
The check-in, concierge and breakfast staff were excellent. Shower had good pressure and temperature. Wifi was fast. Location was excellent.
Charged foreign credit cards in foreign currency with a hefty fee, despite being assured that we were being charged in INR as requested. Rooms smelled horribly of mold and staff wanted to just cover up the smell with a chemical spray when we couldn't sleep because of it. Colony of bugs in the bathroom and several broken/ill-fitting fixtures throughout the room. Having to get a new internet code every 12 hours was obnoxious. Rooms were tiny.
The location is superb. The staff is very nice and helpful. Continental breakfast was good with an extra display of Indian specialities. Towel changed every day.
To gain access to wifi, you need to get free tokens from the reception daily as they expire every 12 hours. Wifi did not work properly from our room and always ended up having to use the service from the lobby. There were some stains on the bed sheets.
Nice location, staff are very nice, good breakfast
Very good location in old Mumbai. Wifi very weak. Very attentive personel.
Dangerous (for children) staircase without leaning.
The hotel was in a perfect location, the rooms very clean and the breakfast excellent. We would definately choose it again if we came back in Mumbai.
Compared to the other hotels we stayed all over India, it was a little bit pricey. Maybe some offers would be a nice idea.
