Conveniently situated, good sized rooms, fridge included. Staff helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back
It is much closer beach than booking add says..about 400 feet down the lane with many shops along the way. People are great.
A better bed would have helped a lot. But I would stay here agian
Its not the Ritz but its alot better than a Goa Beach Hut. Great Colonial feel to the place.
My girlfriend was very sick when we stayed at sea view and the staff were very helpful and even tried to get their family doctor to come and see her. It was great to stay at such a friendly place at a low point in our holiday.
Resort was good with all facilities.
Being located in a small street & bit far from Palolem beach.
Old and charming near transports
Power goes off ! Water cuts !
The staff were the most unfriendly unhelpful rude people I have met.
The Sea View resort is situated at a drivable distance (about 2 miles) from a major tourist attraction beach in South Goa called Palolem beach, but it is not so close to the main tourist spot for you to be bothered. There is a beautiful isolated beach at the walking distance (about 500 steps) from the main Sea View hotel and it is a very calm beach area for the tourists to visit, where one can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the South Goa’s beaches. I took my entire family - all adults - and my older parents in their 80s. Some rooms are nicely Air conditioned and to any minor problem, the owners and the staff will attend promptly as the owners own a house right on the property. It is like the family owned Bed-&-Breakfast Inn of the US. The Palolem beach area also has many nicer (but not so expensive) restaurants (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) which serve alcohol. The Sea View Resort hotel rooms are of decent size for three people to live in (we asked for an additional mattress for a US$ 4 a day) and the staff promptly responds to your requests, however minor. The price of this resort (US$ 25 per night for an A.C. room and US$ 16 per night for a non-A.C. room) is at par with other hotels with comparable amenities in the Palolem beach area. The staff is very polite and they will give you advise and insight on the places to see around the hotel. The owners also run a tour business, about which I am clueless. All in all, the experience was worth the price we paid for three nights/ four days. - Hemant Borkar, M.D. United States
Don’t expect a view of Sea from the balcony of ANY hotel rooms as the name “Sea View Resort” indicates. The nearest beach is at the walking distance, about 500 steps from the hotel itself. The entire hotel is surrounded by trees, shrubs, hence expect a lot of mosquitoes if you want to sit in the balcony or keep your windows open at night. The windows didn’t have mosquito nets when we were there and that was a major issue for us. Also, the hotel itself doesn’t have an Acquigard (a water purifier system) nowhere in the main area of the hotel, so they have made it so that, you would have to buy bottled water from the nearby shops or restaurants, which are owned by the hotel owners. And like one tourist mentioned, initially we felt when we arrived that the reception was quite brusque, and the brother and sister who run the hotel didn’t have their acts together, as they lacked in communication regarding how much money we had paid in advance and how much it would cost us for an extra mattress etc. But once those issues were settled we had a very nice three-night stay at the hotel. - Hemant Borkar, M.D. United States
Owners were very nice and helpful. They organised our transport from Vasco da Gama and to Madgaon. We were shown two rooms and could choose the one we liked more. Our room had a very nice balcony.
Cool quiet room! Just five minutes walk from the beach where barking fighting feral dogs make the nearer huts / properties a nightmare! A comfortable thicker than normal bed & mattress made for a better than average nights sleep. Cheap laundry too!
Uncontrollable ceiling fan speed and noisy AC
- Unfriendly personnel - Dirty - High price for the value We arrived late at ca. 3 O'clock in the morning. When booking a room I wrote a note about time of our arrival. However, when we arrived the manager told us that our room was given away because he did not know if we arrive or not! As a replacement we were given a dirty room without air condition and no water in the sink. Moreover, we were told that we can get our "deluxe" room only in two days... So we spent one horrible night there and just moved out the next day. We found a great bungalow complex closer to the beach where we rented a small house with air condition for the cheaper price! So if you have a choice not to stay in this hotel - don't do that.
For Indian standards, good and clean hotel.
The wireless internet was so slow that it was useless. They should update the picture of the hotel. It is yellow by now. With closed windows the room smelled a bit moldy since the wall to the bathroom was moist.
i did not stay because i was told 3 days before that i did not have a booking because i did not pay in advance when my booking clearly states i should pay in indian money at the hotel
i have an email on my booking telling me to pay hotel at arrival yet i was told no booking because i had not paid in advance
The boys in/the bar went out of their way to be helpful and kind
No sea view by a long way - it is actually on a noisy crossroads No hot w ater but got a bucket brought on request. No Wi-Fi in annexe Beds like a rock with very short stained sheets and smelly blanket No room clean for three days and floor made my feet black getting from shower to bed, dogs fighting and howling all night A Possibly the most unpleasant, uncaring, surly owners in Goa. The only thing they want is your money and then get lost!!
It ticked all the boxes for us. An established, well run resort managed by the Gonsalves family, son and sisters. The rooms had nice balconies, were all freshly painted, clean, A/c & hot water. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, as you would expect in Goa, and we were well looked after. If you wanted anything room cleaned, tea served etc., you just had to ask. We had a room where we watched the sun rise over the palm trees other rooms you could watch the sun set. The rooms are varied set back from the beach in a garden. We really appreciated staying in a proper building as opposed to a hut or chalet squeezed in on the beach - different strokes!
Initially we felt that when we arrived the reception was quite brusque, rather than welcoming. After a few days we got to know them and realised that with many visitors and all the details of checking in they were just being focussed in doing their job.
