Fort cochin is must visit. Jewish settlement, each, art and general vibe is nice. If you have a day in Cochin city ernakulam then i'd suggest to take a hotel in city (for that day) instead of fort kochi as cabs are 500/- one way from fort kochi to kochi city.

Cochin is a colorful destination with friendly people, exotic scenes, and a few areas lacking in cleanliness, but overall, for India, its a very safe and exotic place to visit and highly reccomend it.

The best thing to do is to get a tuk tuk and driver to give a tour. It lasts about 4 hours and we visited at least 12 different places of interest. We had time to take in the sights and go round museums and churches. You could never see as much if you were on foot. The drivers can tell you some history behind the places and you get a good overview. The Basilica Cathedral and Jew Street were our favourites. The Dhobi Khana laundry was also very interesting.
The beach is the place to go at sunset, it’s worth the effort.
Forte Kochi hotel has English food if you are unsure about Indian spices to begin with. We found it was a good place to settle our stomachs after our long flights.

Our host Joseph organised a tuk tuk with guide for us to see the town. We spent 6 hours with this person visiting all of the museums, temples and churches with added local knowledge at around 300 rupees an hour.
We had coffee at the old harbour hotel which was a lovely experience with a beautiful outdoor area to eat/drink - a bit on the pricey side.
We had an evening meal at Fusion Bay recommended by our host which didn’t disappoint.

I travelled alone and felt safe all the time.
I travelled alone and felt safe all the time. Auto Drivers were extremely helpful by getting me from one place to another and in some instances waited for me. A safe place to travel if you’re a solo traveller. Food was authentic and good value for money. Love this place

I was expecting a beautiful shoreline in Fort Kochi, but sadly much of the Fort Kochi foreshore is covered in rubbish. Almost no rubbish in the town itself which was awesome. We did a boat trip through the waterways, which was beautiful and almost no rubbish to be seen there too, which was great. The chinese fishing nets are a sight to see.
Some cute little shops in Fort Kochi, and a trip to Jew Town provided further shops to wander around on a hot, sticky afternoon. Worth the visit.
This is situated in the suburbs of Cochin. A quit calm and relaxing lace. Well supported by Dt Iswaria and her team. Really had a nice relaxing time with oil massages , yoga sessions, special traditional Dance program for visiters. The rooms are very spacious and apartments like set up. No disturbances from other occupants like other hotels. The team members Mr Thomas, Fathima and the restaurant teams are so lovely. The also arranged a site seeing tour to Cochin. Really enjoined the stay.
Was last in Cochin in 1986. Fort Abode was a pleasant surprise. Located close to a good coffee shop, fish restaurant (Fusion Bay) and bar with Heineken (Frances). Large air conditioned room with a closet cabinet, desk and luggage table. The staff (especially Sam) were helpful arranging transportation and for an overnight houseboat ride starting and ending in Alleppey. We stayed at Fort Abode 6 nights at the start of our Kerala stay and one night at the end.
The best location we ever stayed. Only issue was the checking formalities. It took more than half an hour to get the room. The room shown in Booking.com is different from the room category we got when we checked in. We requested the hotel staff to get the booked room itself. Luckily we got the room we booked because of someone cancelled the booked room. We booked the Marina view room and the photo shown room was Marina Cottage view room. That should change.
Good hotel with quick access from airport. We reached hotel from airport within few minutes . Best thing is that we were not disturbed by honking of vehicles in night, and hence we had a good silent sleep in night. Also they have round the clock airport shuttle at reasonable prices. Aircon worked well.
- Very friendly and helpful staff
- Nice spacious pool area
- Excellent value for money (even considering that the hotel would rather have 4 stars according to international standards and not the official 5 stars)
- Big room
Facilities can be improved by providing basic things like a bathroom sleeper, balti and mug for bathing .for bathing can provide soap with gel .staffs are awesome and best I think .They are far better than any 5 star hotels.
One of the best 5 Start hotels in Kochi indeed! The whole place was very picturesque. Special thanks to Meghna from the front office who went that extra mile to make out stay absolutely fantastic!
The best hotel I've ever lived in India. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. Sockets were working.
I would recommend it to everyone who want to stay in the hotel with EU standards.
Best hotel closer to the beach view. Clean and neat and worth the money. I would recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a peaceful and clean room stay. We enjoyed it as a family.
Great location in heart of Fort Cochin. Simple clean comfortable small hotel with obliging staff. Hot shower. Tasty egg based breakfast. (omelette, French Toast, fried eggs, pancakes etc.).
If you need to stay near airport, this is the best option.go for it.just 500 m walkable distance.if you need to spend a night before catching flight, blindly go for this hotel
Staffs were very cooperative. Clean and spacious rooms . Food was delicious .I would recommend the hotel who is visiting cochin . Location is at the centre of cochin .
