Eftpos machine was down and rather than sorting out an alternative arrangement like transport to an ATM we had to sort it out ourselves.
The lifeguard at the pool was very lovely and helpful always working with a smile. We visited the Retreat Spa and had a wonderful experience. The pool facilities were very relaxing!
toilet flush was not working , toilet seat was in bad shape , housekeeping staff was not adequate for attending guest only one staff , dining area in restaurant was overcrowded during peak hours and staff was adequate to attend the guest....
Stayed here withy 12 year old daughter. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Helped us with any problems. Room was very clean and comfortable with kettle. Excellent laundry service. Food delicious and we enjoyed room service.
1. Bathroom taps, shower, flush etc are very very old n rusted. very pathetic. Does not function properly which is very shocking after enjoying overall ambience. 2. Restaurent staff need to be more attentive and focussed on guest 3. Improved service required
Food at the restaurant was OK not great for the price. Breakfast was OK but food was cold, choice was limited. They do not want to serve you freshly made Dosa or Paratha available and time taken was long, hope this could be changed
Excellent rooms, clean, staff helpful. Also provide accomodation for the drivers upon request
We did not get value for money with the Retreat. No hot water for shower on day of arrival or departure - which was needed as temperature was 8 degrees! Staff mucked up breakfast order twice despite having an empty restaurant. Electricity went out randomly for 5 mins. Extremely poor response from management. Don't waste your money in this hotel!
No hot water for 3 day stay and had to hand hold shower as wall shower not working in both my room and my friends room
overall a comfortable hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast bar the coffee
New Year's Eve was fabulous! There were two Russian girls who were Angels, making everyone happy, great time, disco, lazer lights.
Didn't provide twin beds as requested then put us in another lower standard room downstairs where a party was going on that night and we had to move again upstairs and have a portable bed to accommodate us. Not ideal!
Standard of room
first night there was a party and it's quite noisy until late.
the room is nice food is fine
King size rooms are ok but avoid room 114, there is a pool but they do not let you sit by it in the evening
The bed was good
If you is foreigner I suggest you find another place. There is not good value for money. Stuff isn't interesting to give you satisfaction. Wi-Fi and TV working very poor. Breakfast is Indian style only.
For the price and location ,the hotel was alright, it was clean , rooms are big and every room has TV ,with many channels, some English ones too , food at restaurant good , staff were very helpful , not a bad hotel to stay at , very comfortable,we enjoyed it Robert and Tong Tong
The rooms might have been nice at the time they took the pictures for this website, but now they are worn out (specially, floor, walls, furniture and curtains). The hotel needs renovation. Avoid the travel desk. In other hotels we've been in India they were always happy to make train bookings at a fee. However, the travel agent at The Retreat refused to book train tickets for us. It seems he makes enough money overcharging costumers for tours to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, and is not interested in helping with other needs. The day trip we booked was unimpressive. The time suggested to see the sunrise in the Taj Mahal was too late and they took us to the usual tourist traps. If we had gone sightseeing by our own, it would have been better. The WiFi connection (the few times it worked) was slower than a dial-up modem.
It is well located, just a few minutes away from the Taj Mahal by taxi. The rooms spacious and comfortable, but worn out.
Air conditioning in lobby and restaurant too warm and stuffy.
Nice modern hotel with good facilities.
No hot water in the shower!! - and as it was a one-night stay, we were stuck with a surprise cold shower in the morning! Management discounted the bill, but still not good.
surrounding area is not clean
- very very poor service; after repeated requests to join twin beds into a single bed (as we had requested in our booking) we were unceremoniously informed that the property is fully booked, and probably on our fifth request did someone come and just push the two beds together; we werent provided wifi paswords on checking in and had to ask for them twice before we got it - misleading photographs on promotional site - very poor parking management: had to spend half an hour before the security guard-cum-parking attendant managed to get our car out, that too after I myself had to back it out of a very tight space with another driver helping me, with the parking attendant just standing helplessly - food was nothing great
- Neat and tidy room - clean bathroom - decent location in proximity to the Taj as well as the Agra Fort
No pool services and they only reason why I booked this hotel
It's a nice place to stay the rooms are great! And finally an hotel with hot water!!!!
During the stay, pool facilities were under construction without any prior information. (No noise issues though)
The Wi-Fi connection did not work properly in my room and I had to go down to the lobby. Anyway, it is not a big problem.
The hotel is very nice and located in a good position to visit Agra's most important monuments. Very helpful staff.
The food was average. The breakfast timings were not displayed anywhere, and when we reached for breakfast at 10.30, we were denied saying its closing time. !0.30 is too early for closing on a sunday, when people are their for leisure.
The Hotel is well located.Very conveniently situated vis a vis theTaj as well as the Agra Fort. The ambience was excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. The bathrooms were good. The size of the rooms was very good and did not give a feeling of being cramped.
This was a thoroughly clean, well appointed and lovely hotel. Room was very large with excellent appointments. The restaurant was great and staff were very friendly and efficient.
The parking was most inadequate. It was a big problem getting your car in and out of it. The housekeeping was a bit careless. During one day of our stay, the beds were not made properly. The breakfast was not upto the mark. The preparations were much below the standard of what was being served in the restaurant. The pool timings should be increased till 9 pm so that one is able to enjoy the pool after returning from sightseeing
The Hotel is well located.Very conveniently situated vis a vis theTaj as well as the Agra Fort. The ambience was excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. The bathrooms were good. The size of the rooms was very good and did not give a feeling of being cramped. The food was excellent but the breakfast was just average. The staff was courteous and helpful. The pool was good.
