The scenic Kappil River flows through Vivanta by Taj - Bekal, offering a selection of activities from fishing to boating. Just 500 metres from Kappil Beach, the resort features unique rooms with architecture inspired by Kettuvallam house boats. Wonderful place to stay.Very hospitable staff. One night was very short stay anyway. Food taste was not so good.

The staff was very courteous and helpful and the location and atmosphere of the hotel was excellent. The restaurant could not handle the crowd on the first night of our stay and food at the buffet conters were not filled in time and the service was very much delayed. The room was not cleaned the next day until we called them up to do so at 5.30 pm. The layout of the rooms are not friendly for senior citizens as they have to climb stairs to enter the rooms whether they are on the ground floor or the first floor.

This hotel is one of the best I ever stayed in, on any international standards. A unique experience to be done. I feel that anybody who is visiting Kerala should treat themselves to a stay at Taj bekal> Just that it is kind of difficult to get there by yourself, but they can pick you up from Mangalore, just ask

We loved staying at Taj Vivanta, Bekal. Our expectations were high as I had read very good reviews about the property. But in this case the hotel was far better than our expectations. The attention to detail was just outstanding.The room you get is huge and the bathroom is largest with 2 shower areas one outside and one inside , a bathtub, two washbasins and a separate alcove with a door for the commode.The private balcony with bed sized swing with carved celing on top and backwater view was amazing and I felt like spending our whole stay on that balcony. With its high roof the room appears even bigger. The interiors are plush and contemporary.The common areas, the pool, the gym and landscaping is very well done up. The staff was extremely polite and very helpful .From front office staff to the steward, from chef to the bell boy (even the security personnel posted at the beach) were very nice and courteous. The service at Taj Vivanta, Bekal was excellent. On the whole our stay at the hotel was extremely pleasant and we had a wonderful holiday.
