Getting around is easy. Nice parks and resorts and tourist areas. I liked the tourist areas around Erbil, short day trips then you can go back to your hotel in the city.
I see that the government is working to improve tourism, however, there is still more work need to be done, investment in the parks and resorts is very important which will bring more tourist locally and internationally.

Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional! This was mainly due to the front office receptionist (Ramen) who was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. Our entire duration was seamless and wonderful! It’s obvious the staff truly care about their guests and we will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel. Thank you so much again Ramen, you have made us loyal guests

I would stay in Ainkawa rather than Erbil, it is a waking area. Erbil is a car city, like Dubai or Jakarta. It is not a walking city like Kuala Lumpur or Paris.
If one has a car than Erbil area is nice, especially if one can go up into the mountains in the summer.

Erbil itself is an interesting historical city but you probably only need two days to visit most of the highlights. It's easy to get around as there is always a glut if taxis. It helps if you have gps and you know the local name of where you're going. Staying in Ankawa probably makes the most sense for any tourist as many of the best restaurants ( Fuul & hummus), bars (Dusk) and spas are there.
Erbil is also a perfect base for travelling the governorate including Haji Ormran, gslgurd mountain and Felaw pound, Bekhal, Gali Ali Bag, korek mountain and Shingalbana

A city full of history and culture.
A city full of history and culture. Survivors of thousands of years of war, still able to preserve their culture while embracing modern traditions and culture. so much to see, to do and so many beautiful people. Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it.
The property location is very good, its location is in the best neighborhoods in Erbil, very near to the airport and also very near to the city center as well! The hotel’s design is very nice, the rooms are comfortable, they’re fairly clean and well equipped with everything you need, from nice tv screen, very good air conditioner, clean bathroom and etc.., the cafe food is good but overpriced for the quality i received, but overall it was a pleasant stay and i do happily recommend it for anyone planning to visit Erbil.
The STAFF .

I have been into so many hotels in Erbil, but this is the only one that beats all the hotels and considered number 1 hotel.
Facilities is very good and also their restaurant at 7th floor (Waves) has a very nice and diversified breakfast, also i tried their open buffet for lunch and it was as perfect as expected.
Thank you all for making my stay that comfort
Upon arrival in Erbil, I stayed for one night at a dump of a hotel in the middle of Erbil with a bathroom that likely had not been scrubbed in a couple years. I booked the Asenappar on a whim just to get out of there. They let me check in early the day of my booking, the breakfast was acceptable and varied, the clerk used his own phone when I needed to call about my COVID test, and there are shops / restaurants around the hotel. Internet is decent for the region.
This hotel was a pleasant surprise--clean, modern, spacious, friendly staff although they didn't speak English. I didn't try the TV. The minbar worked. The breakfast was typically Kurdish but had many choices. The power went off several times (as it does everywhere in Kurdistan) but the generator kicked in quickly each time. I stayed at another hotel in Erbil that was significantly more expensive but this was better. Good location.
First of all the stuff of the hotel is absolutely amazing from start to end. Their support and hospitality was above my expectations. I have experienced many situations along my trips, but the stuff from the Divan Hotel was the best experience I had so far.
Thank you all, especially to Arshad, Nadine, Rima, Kaywan and James.
this is a third time i stay in this hotel with my family it is not only my talk also my family talk about this hotel (quality of sleeping, quiet rooms, air condtion, every location is very clean baths room and beds, towles so clean, location of hotel very good to every location in erbil) realy i feel this is my home.
I’ve stayed at the Quartz many times and they never disappoint. Safety and security excellent. Good location, near the Citadel. Staff, especially Michele and manager, Ibrahim were very professional and accommodating to my somewhat “picky” requests. Overall, the best hotel in Erbil. I will always stay at the Quartz!
Excellent place to stay in Erbil. This hotel is within walking distance to the citadel and the Bazar. The hotel is excellent value and the staff (particularly Youseff on the front desk ) are amazing. I would not hesitaate to recomend the Janet Bludan Hotel.
Best and most supportive staff in the city. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and Qusay made sure we had absolutely everything we needed, he was such a blessing. We will be coming back for sure, it’s our favorite hotel in Erbil
We were lucky to find Ankawa Hotel on booking.com back in 2018. Ever since, it became our go-to hotel because of the spacious well-equipped rooms, delicious assorted breakfast, strategic location and reasonable price.
Staff very kind. Breakfast was served to the room in anticipation of an early flight. Staff also helped coordinate and free taxi ride to the airport which is about 5 minutes from the hotel.
Fast and Easy check-in, hotel is very clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, restaurant is amazing, great location, definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Erbil
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Location is in the middle of the well serviced Ankawa neighborhood with lots of amenities within walking distance.
