Hotel is clean and comfortable, conveniently located for shopping, eating and nightlife. Very helpful staff provided great dining options, helpful driving directions for out of town excursions and a breakfast to go the early morning of our departure. Great value in Reykjavik.
Nightlife continues late into the night and one side of the hotel is located on the busy street. If you need a quiet room, opt for one on the other side. The rooms may be a bit more, but are also larger and very quiet.
The 4th floor hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, close to restaurants at attractions. Lots of shops nearby as well. Also it's one of the hotels that offer 3 separate beds.
location is very good in the sense that majority of attractions are nearby. the only drawback is that it is at a major/main street which means a lot of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
The location is very central practically on the Main Street and 10mins walk to the square. Room was very clean apart from the bathroom got very wet as no ventilation. Breakfast was lovely but they did tend to run out of bits by 10, if we asked the staff were happy to cook more for us and they also made us a packed breakfast on our departure day as we had to leave early. Room was a bit small but funky decor (mostly ikea) to mix things up a bit.
The bathroom did not have ventilation which meant the room became wet and the bedroom windows steamed up. There was no mould or anything but I imagine this is hard to keep on top of, especially as the rooms are quite warm.
There were old toothpaste remains in the toothbrush holder in the bathroom. No pressure in bathroom water tap Surfaces show signs of wear and tear.
Very good hotell right next to the main street and close to the water. Evan if you share toilett and shower it was never occupied and it was always clean.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The location is superb. They were flexible with my checkout time which helped me enjoy my last day there. The included breakfast was nice. It was very clean.
I think Reykjavik is generally expensive. I thought the price for a shared bath was a little high, but that may just be the location. I really have no complaints!
1) Value; 2) Location relative to city center and attractions; 3) Friendly staff; and 4) Packed breakfast for early departure to airport (5am)..
The locations is amazing, right on the main walking street in downtown Reykjavik. Staff was super friendly, room was clean. We're traveling with a 9-month old. Loved in-room laundry. Loved the infant bed. Right across the street from the Iceland Phallological museum, which is right next to a grocery store. Ideal for our needs.
Only downside was the street noise, though it really didn't bother us much (it was also one of Iceland's main festivals that evening, so half the town walked by our window).
very good position and very good value for the price you pay. Huge breackfast.
Excellent location - 2 minutes walk to main street for shopping, food outlets ie. restaurants and cafes, about 10 minutes walk to large supermarket. Five minutes walk to esplanade Helpful reception staff Very good hot breakfast provided Facilities in room were much more than I'd anticipated The hotel was clean Flybus was prepared to drop off and pick up from this hotel Very happy with choice of this hotel
Walls fairly thin - first stay no problem noticed. During second stay, different people in next room -more noisy. This was when I became aware of noise factor
The location is great, very central.. The staff was helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good.
Lots of noise from the street at night.
location was very central breakfast was good staff very helpful and attentive
room needed repairs to ceiling and painting necessary
Staff were very helpful and really made our lives easy. Location is excellent: not far from BSI terminal (walkable without luggage though a bit if a haul with packs) and easy access to city highlights.
The rooms are a little tired and a tad small, leaving us feeling like we overpaid for the privilege.
Nice room - in fact got upgraded to a suite...unfortunately only stayed one night but this would have been brilliant for a longer stay - central location, washing machine, kitchen etc...all very clean and nice. Breakfast good too.
Quite noisy...but to be fair it was the night of the gay pride do in Rejkavik so exceptionally ...wouldn't put me off going back.
Position great. Breakfast good, good views
The toilet was not bolted down and was very small. Decor outdated.
Location, very close to shoreline & clean
Some road traffic noise - but not ridiculous, it was manageable
the location the decent breakfast
the tiny room the noises from the street: worst was the singing and shouting from 1 to 4 am on 2 nights, the huge vehicle cleaning the drains at 3 am on Monday, the motorbikes revving... the room had no air conditioning nor even a fan for ventilation.
convenient, flexible arrangements, helpful staff, basic and sufficient facility
housekeeping moved my things, left my window open with outside access, lost power one day-no light in hall or bathroom, very small
If one realizes that prices in Iceland are high, this was a reasonably priced hotel. We appreciated the fact that there was some on-site parking and a decent breakfast.
Despite the fact that we were upgraded to a larger room, which we very much appreciated, we found the facilities somewhat lacking. The bathroom, in particular was so cramped that it was hard to sit on the toilet (thank goodness we are short!) or to wash one's face without getting water all over the floor. The location was "not bad" (within 20 minutes walk of the centre) but it was noisy.
Location, easy access to many things when coming to Reykjavik for the first time. Very nice and varied breakfast. Very nice apartment room. Very good cleaning staff.
Standard double room is more than tiny considering the price(not worth the price).
Comfortable bed & pillows, location, Fridge and kettle in room,
Smell of sinks, drains (very off-putting when getting a glass of water), Bedroom lamp didn't work, Having a door 'key' rather than swipe card etc (inconvenient as I needed to lock my door and take my keys when only going to the bathroom across the hall)
The staff were friendly, the rooms were comfortable and cosy, the beds we nice the location is great. I have reserved my room for my stay in November for Iceland airwaves!
Nothing bad to say about this hotel.
Very good buffet breakfast in adjoining restaurant.
Toilet outside the room.
We were upgraded to a small apartment which allowed us to buy groceries and make some of our own meals which was great as things are quite expensive in Iceland. Lots of room, good breakfast and close enough to walk into the heart of the tourist areas. Told us where we could park for free too.
