The most difficult task during my stay in Iceland was having to google translate every bit of the washer and dryer from Icelandic. Please provide a cheat sheet!
On the weekends the noise was terrible at all hours of the night. The bedroom shares a wall with the stairs outside and people just stomp around and shout. I was fortunate to have brought a tiny fan to make some white noise, but I'd recommend having a fan placed in the unit.
My only other comment is that the bathtub/shower is a bit dangerous. It's higher off the ground than a normal tub, has no handles and no anti-slip mat. If you were to fall there would be very little to hold on to.
If you're coming from the airport through Flybus, just grab a cab outside the bus station. It's about $12 for a taxi to this unit (or a 15 minute walk if you have light luggage).
This place is an excellent alternative to a regular hotel. Don't expect to have a front counter call you a taxi and accommodate you but if you can manage on your own I highly recommend renting an apartment. This unit was spacious 1 bedroom and was straight out of an IKEA magazine. The bed was comfortable, the couch was great too and the fact that Netflix was included is highly appreciated! It was a really great option to end the day with.
The kitchen was well-supplied with a fridge, oven, microwave, water boiler, strainer, pots and pans and a ton of dishes. With Bonus store right down the street I saved a bit of money dining in.
The location is excellent! There are shops and places to eat a mere two blocks away. The living room had a great view of the church nearby which is definitely worth visiting.
A bit off topic, I didn't exactly plan this trip very well and landed around 7 AM with an 8 hour time difference from home, check-in wasn't until 2 but I was extremely exhausted and was allowed a very early check-in. I can not thank you enough for allowing this, I didn't really want to spend my first few hours in Iceland sleeping in the bus station or fighting to stay awake for that long.
Would I come back to this place again? Yes I absolutely would.
