Location Size of room Decor
Excellent location, lovely and welcoming common sitting areas with view, great fish and seafood. Very comfortable bed, beautiful location. A very romantic hotel to visit indeed, we really enjoyed our stay.
It was very 160E per night for a small room was way too much, but then again everything in Iceland was very expensive at that time of year. the bathroom only had a sliding door which let the noise of the flash in.
Location Food Room
offered 2 twin beds which were pushed together on arrival. Not double as requested
The location of Budir is very scenic and the hotel itself is tastefully decorated. As well, the breakfast buffet, compared to others we experienced in Iceland was fair.
Budir is a hotel that urgently needs competition to become the hotel they should be for the prices they charge. Unfortunately, customers seem to be a nuisance for the Budir staff in most cases. Reservations times are not respected and there is no compensation (ex. free drink) to recognize the inconvenience; dining room staff would clearly prefer to be someplace else; and the front desk are there to give you the key but not much else. It is not a hotel we will visit again.
The location was amazing and the hotel was fantastic. Every attention to detail has been carefully executed. Our stay was nothing less of magical.
The breakfast was basic but was included with the nightly rate. The evening meals were tasty, well portioned and with good variety but inordinately expensive in comparison to high class restaurants in Reykjavik.
The views from every window are breathtaking! We traveled in December, and in a snow storm! Had to stay an extra night and the staff was completely understanding and flexible. Food is outstanding as is the cosy bar. This area is a Must See and this hotel a Must Stay.
We came here to be in the path of an oncoming storm. Everything else was a bonus. A very comfortable hotel. Great for relaxation and solitude.
The restaurant meals were very good but we reluctantly paid the price. A cheaper option on the menu would have been nice. Once again, the meals were excellent.
Winter season meant we could afford to stay here and were very glad we did. Very helpful staff, informative, we splashed out on dinner at their restaurant (nowhere else to eat anyway) and it was divine. We even saw the Northern Lights right outside the hotel after dinner!
We booked this hotel for the stunning location, and on that front we were not disappointed. Set out in the lava fields, right by the sea, the location was great. The interior of the hotel was very nice. The staff were friendly and service was good.
The room was ok but nothing special.
Beautiful, windswept spot, with views to cliffs and a grey expanse of sea. Charming staff and delicious, incredibly fresh food.
Would have been nice to have both fires lit. It was early winter and even with only a few guests, we rather crowded out the one fire area.
most things. Once we had driven the 3 hour journey in heavy rain, arriving at the hotel was a god send...just what we wanted - secluded, in stunning scenery and a great set-up...highly recommended
better board games
The drive to the hotel was out of this world, we had to stop several times on the way just to inhale the atmosphere. The staff was helpful and there was no problem organizing and early breakfast
The dinner menu was great but if you for some reason couldn't eat anything the closest place you can buy food is at least 35km away.
Dinner Outside space and the mountain views The sunrise over the shore Bar area
Pink lights on the outside were a bit cheap.
Like no other place on earth.
Great hotel in a wonderful location. Hard to believe that this hotel was as nice as it was considering that it was the only thing around, but it was gorgeous inside and the food was amazing. The atmosphere and the views are unbeatable!
We traveled with our almost-2-year-old son, and our stay was made comfortable by the hotel's wonderful staff. We had so much fun hiking and exploring the area around the hotel. We also had a fabulous dinner at the hotel restaurant and breathtaking views from our room. We would live to return.
So far away from normal concerns and so well located in midst of some of the world's most spectacular scenery, this hotel delivers elegance and fine food and service to rival sophisticated big city hotels.
Spectacular setting with a view of the glacier, lava fields and the ocean. Beautiful walks right from the hotel. Excellent restaurant.
Decor could use a little refreshing.
Fantastic view, food A+++, beds very comfy, beautiful interior
Receptionist could speak better english
Very pretty and remote setting.
Check-out. The bill was totally wrong. Additional items were charged to our room, the Booking.com price was not applied and the reception desk clerk could not correct the bill. We were told that we would get a corrected bill emailed to us later in the day, but have not heard from the hotel. We'll simply take the matter up with MasterCard.
- beautiful hotel, rooms, bar with view to the nature - friendly service for dinner - dinner & breakfast
Spectacular views...very nice public areas...good ventilation in the rooms. Good, but expensive, restaurant,
Pricey even by Iceland standards.
High quality hotel: - good location with fantastic view - nice rooms with very good beds - delicious restaurant - very nice personnel
Everything. The location. The views. The quiet. It's relaxed yet hip at the same time. Chic yet rugged. It's a must. The Snaefellsnes peninsula is often overlooked. You can hike and tour the area, take a day trip by Ferry to Flatey for fish soup. Love.
Restaurant is a bit pricey, but it's to be expected because it's so remote.
