La ubicación del hotel es perfecta para todo y dispone de wifi gratis (excepto en la sala del desayuno). El personal es muy amable y servicial, y en recepción se puede reservar cualquier excursión sin problemas. Las habitaciones - de diseño - son bonitas y cómodas, y nosotros teníamos un vista preciosa desde la nuestra en la última planta. También se puede preparar té o café en la habitación. El desayuno es muy completo (aunque algo repetitivo).

Tanto diseño resta un poco de funcionalidad a la habitación: p.ej. en el baño no hay espejo para afeitarse cómodamente, y hay que agacharse para secar el pelo (el cable no llega). En el dormitorio hace falta un máster para entender cómo funcionan los interruptores de luz, y la luz de lectura es incómoda (solo ilumina la mesita de noche). La mesita también es un poco precaria (¡se me cayó un vaso de agua, y mi mujer se dio un golpe también en la suya!).

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Nice and functional room. Location VERY good.Breakfast was super. Even though they maintaining the breakfast room.

Upon arrival we had to wait for our rooms, wich was not actually a problem but the receptionist was very unfriendly and unhelpful. A bad start for this stay, lucky she was only there on Sunday. Rest of the week the staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially the guy working in evening and night, he made the stay something extra.

The location was fabulous. The stylish design of the interiors and the view from our fourth floor room.

Nowhere to hang towels or robes in the bathroom. The room description on their website didn't match what we were given as a deluxe room. Their website clearly states that deluxe rooms have white leather sofa seating area and or a bathtub. We had neither although the room was very nice. I raised this issue but no one followed this up.

The noise from the bar nearby was really dreadful. Even with the window firmly closed it sounded like there was a disco happening in our room! We didn't have a double bed - it was two singles next to eachother, so hard to cuddle my partner comfortably!

The staff was amazing. They seemed to enjoy going out of their way to help us, treating us like family or friends rather than tourists. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the bar and reception very modern and beautiful.

Centerhotel Thingholt was so central to all the bars, restaurants and attractions in the centre of Reykjavik. Reasonable price for the room which included a full buffet breakfast. All the trips we booked picked us up from right outside the hotel. We would definitely stay again!

As a lot of other reviewers say Friday and Saturday night was noisy with the club down the road but it did not bother us too much - may do if you are travelling with children. Also we had booked a deluxe room but it was not quite as advertised - did not have a sofa or bathtub - we spoke with reception who said it was a deulxe room but to be fair still offered to move us the following day (the hotel was fully booked).

I stayed at the Thingholt hotel in January 2013 and had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. Happy hour in the bar every day provided an excellent opportunity for a pre-dinner drink and chat with the other guests. The hotel is brilliantly located just off the main street and in close proximity to plenty of bars and restaurants.

Only a very minor detail - the uplighters on the front steps made the steps difficult to see. I nearly tripped on a number of occasions!

I loved the hotel! The huge bathtube near the bed is out of this world! Highly recommended!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Unusual but comfortable rooms and beds - our room at the front was noisy fri and sat night tho so request a quiet room if this would bother you. Lovely breakfast. Great happy hour in the bar 5-7pm where all drinks were half price. Prime location right in the centre of shops, bars and restsurants. Would stay here again.

Quiet and clean

Centerhotel Thingholt is a great hotel. Our room was just perfect with a very comfy bed and a great bathroom. It was also very clean and our room was serviced very well every day. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is right in the heart of Rekjavik - close to great restaurants, cafes and some really good pubs. Uncle Tom's Cabin which is below ground and you can look into from the main street is a really good pub with nice couches and a relaxed atmosphere! You can also enjoy some really good sushi there which is very reasonable! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great base to explore Iceland from!

The only negative would be that room was a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights as there is a club just beside the hotel which does go on until the wee hours of the morning! Maybe, double glazed windows might help alleviate that problem! For us, it wasn't a problem at all as we were enjoying the late nights as well! Apart from that minor problem, it was a great hotel!
